I called Louis as we were getting our kitchen backsplash done, and the handyman noticed faulty wiring. I called and asked for him to come over last minute - which ususally results in a "no can" response. However, despite his busy schedule, he came to help since he knew I was in a pickle. After making the repairs, my husband and I pointed out a few more projects, and he was back the following week to do the next job. It is hard to find someone that is so responsive and does outstanding work.

I really appreciated that he was willing to work on a Sunday -- at no higher rate than any other day -- because that was the only time he had available. My 50-year old house, like many in Hawaii, is single-wall construction, so the fact that he had to run new wiring meant that he had to go up and down a ladder several times as he moved from the bedroom to the outside wall where the cover over wiring had to be removed and eventually re-installed. He was very thorough and very conscientious in his clean-up.

Third time I had Lou Pujalet to the house for various electrical issues. Each time he is punctual showing up, works really fast, does an excellent, professional job, and guides me when I don't know what the right course is. For instance, this last time when he found not-to-code hidden-in-the-wall electrical junctions just twisted together on one side of an old doorway I was moving, he recommended we open up the other side to make sure they hadn't buried similar illegal junctions there. As that required removing more drywall, I hesitated, but decided to listen to him. He was right on, we found additional wires just twisted together there with electrical tape, not even inside electrical boxes so they were all fire hazards. So it's a very good idea to listen to his advice if you care about your home's safety, even if it might cost you a touch more on occasion. On previous occasions he's installed GFCI outlets, a whole-house surge protector, and other general wiring related to my perpetual remodeling and fix-up projects. He is a one-man show so you might have to wait a bit for him to be available, but as they say, it's always a good idea to wait for the best contractors if you can - you'll be happy with the result. I always am with Lou and highly recommend his services.
