 + -1 moreAs always, Dan came immediately and solved the leaky, stopped up toilet that leaked under my floor tiles. My toilet was leaking in 3 places and he methodically got to the bottom of all the leaks. I'm always amazed how cheerful and helpful he is - always answering my questions while he is trying to work. He went over and above the call of duty - again - having to fix the initial setup and tile layout. Because it was not done correctly to begin with it was a huge mess under my toilet and Dan cleaned up the whole thing YUK! Thank you Dan. He also repaired my water heater a couple months ago and, as always, knew what the problem was before he got here and brought the parts. So many things are computer oriented these days I have no idea what the problem might be - but Dan always knows. I know Dan is a very well respected plumber here in Kona and my only fear is that someday he will retire.
Description of Work: Fixed a leaky and stopped up toilet on 11/4/2013. A few months prior he repaired my water heater. Actually, Dan has been my plumber for 15 years and as far as I am concerned, he is absolutely the best plumber in Kona. Dan, and his wife, are professional and at the same time compassionate. Dan is professional and always on time. His work is quality work and his ethics cannot be beat. Although Dan has installed all my faucets, it seems that I am always calling him for an emergency which he always shows up to immediately. There has never been a surprise with Dan, except how well and quickly he tends to my emergencies. He always has parts as well. His wife, who answers the phone, is always professional and is very compassionate. Never puts me on hold and always answers my questions and takes my urgency seriously. I am so thankful they are my plumbing team.

 + 0 moreWe talked about what I needed and he said he could do the work. Then He said, "tomorrow then?" I said,"Well, how much do you estimate this might cost?" His reply, "Oh, around a thousand dollars." This was double what I would end up paying. Like I said, he may do great work and always show up. If you are rich, give him a try and review him on this list. But as for me, I am poor, and can not go to the high bid. I later saw a huge water truck in Kona with "Dan's Plumbing" on the side. Maybe it was a septic truck. That made me think that a small residential job like mine is not in the scope of this company. So, if you are in need of a big plumbing solution, maybe this is your guy. He's just not my guy due to cost.

When I called, I left a message. I was called back within 2 hours. That is good. We talked about what I needed and he said he could do the work. Then he said, "tomorrow then?"  + 1 moreTo find a plumber when I was new in town, twenty years ago, pre internet, I called every plumber in town. I asked "who besides yourself can you recommend for residential plumbing?" Dan Levitz was overwhelmingly named. He has done all my work since and I wish I could be as happy with every service I use as I am with Dan's Plumbing. Every aspect of plumbing new and renew. Very knowledgeable, prompt, and a great guy. Of interest, is that he owns one of almost every part that may be needed and saves time in not having to run to town. At the end of the day he then replaces what he used. He was also the first to have cell phone dispatch. I really have not needed another plumber for two decades.
