The following week when we rented a scaffold and started painting I could not believe my eyes- the grime was so thick we had to scrub it off with steel wool and a putty knife before we could paint. The job took us three times longer than it should have because we were having to clean a section and let it dry before painting. When I called him he said I should have said something when he finished. I told him he knew very well that I could not see up that high and the eves cast a shadow that hid it. I told I thought he should have inspected it to be sure he had done a good job - why is this my responsibility. He refused to give us a nickle back- 1000 dollars for nothing, plus the supplies to scrub the house by hand and the money to rent the scaffold for a second month - really Chris? I had used him once the year before to pressure wash our driveway before using concrete stain. He left his trainees and they washed and washed and washed until he finally returned. Guess they didn't want to be caught no working. I noticed foamy water washing out into the street and asked him if there was detergent in the machine. He said no and added that it must be from something else. When we tried to stain the concrete it would not take. I called the manufacturer of the stain and he asked me if we had just had our driveway pressure washed. I said we had - he asked me if I had seen foamy water and I said yes. He told me that was the lye being washed out of the concrete - and explained that the lye is what reacts chemicaly with the stain to produce a color. I was stuck with 8 cans of concrete stain I couldn't use, but thought maybe he didn't realize how concrete stain works so I explained before hiring him again and told him they did TOO good a job and that I had ended up painting the driveway. He is very clean cut and personable - seemed like a smart young man - but when it comes to customer satisfaction - not so much. Save your money- rent a pressure washer and do it yourself.
