Description of Work: Absolutely nothing. Charged me $250.00 for going to the property, and gave me an estimate in the thousands. Hired another plumber that repaired the leak for $150.00. I called Diamond Head Plumbers and asked to speak to the owner, he refused to talk to me. I was told that I had to replace the entire bathtub, because it was cracked and leaking from the inside. This was a lie, they just wanted to rip me off thousands of dollars. I paid DH $50.00 for their travel time, and then they reported me to the credit bureau for the remaining balance of $200 which I refused to pay because DH did absolutely nothing, other than give me a ridiculous estimate for a job that was fabricated. I feel bad for all the people that have used them, and have gotten ripped off, by doing unnecessary work. Very unethical company. The owner refused to talk to me, he obviously was aware of their practice of ripping people off.

Description of Work: Fixed a leaking toilet promptly and permanently at very reasonable cost. This toilet had been installed by another company which caused endless problems. It was great to have the problem fixed.

Description of Work: Tenant called to say there was a leak in the bathroom, not sure where. They would find water on the bathroom floor. I called Diamond Head Plumbing, all other companies were too busy to come out. Very good response time, plumber said he lived in the Waianae area. I asked plumber to call me with an estimate before they did anything. I believe plumber's name was Paul (not 100% sure). Plumber called and said it would cost $8,000.00 to repair! I almost had a heart attack. Plumber told me the bathtub needed to be removed in order to fix the leak that was coming from the drain assembly under the tub. I asked him if he could fix the problem without removing the tub, and what about my brand new granite enclosure? Plumber said no, that the bathtub had to come out, and that the granite panels will probably be damaged in the process, can't guarantee that granite will be intact. I immediately told plumber to leave, and that I would not be approving any such work for $8,000.00 (that was for plumbing only) and not any other repair. I informed plumber that for $8,000.00 I can have a brand new bathroom with new plumbing built. I had already spent $2,000.00 in the bathroom remodel in Mar. 2012 (3 months earlier) I wasn't about to spend an additional $8,000.00 to demo it. I later received a bill for $251.33 that included $50.00 travel time and $190.00 in labor. For what? The plumber did not do anything! I asked my tenants how long he was there and she said about 40 minutes, because she was waiting to go to work. To top it off, plumber lied and put in his bill: "Customer gave OK to remove tub and replace tub and to repair broken drain under the tub." This is an absolute lie! I never gave plumber approval to remove bath tub! I immediately called Greg, our Resident Manager at Makaha Beach Cabanas. He recommended that I use Alaki'i Plumbing, since they are very familiar with the plumbingat MBC. Long story short, Alaki'i Plumbing fixed my leak within 45 minutes. The tub drain was clogged with hair and materials I guess from the bathroom remodel that I had done earlier that year. The condo was vacant for the past 3 months, and these were the first tenants to use the bathroom since the Mar. 2012 remodel. I will never use nor recommend Diamond Head Plumbing ever again. They are in business to rip people off. This plumber that came to my apt. should be fired for being incompetent and knowing NOTHING about plumbing. I called the company and asked to speak with the owner, TWICE. I was told he was too busy with a "customer". What am I? Chopped liver? I left my number and never got a return call. I explained to the woman that took the message that DH Plumbing was ripping people off and that they quoted me $8,000.00 for a plumbing repair that was fixed in 45 minutes! I told them I was going to report them to the DCCA licensing dept., they did not seem to care. Never got a call back, never got an apology.Nothing! I guess the owner is well aware of what is going on inside his company. The only thing I have received from DH Plumbing is never ending bills for $251.33. I have no problem paying for a repair. I do have a problem paying someone that has no qualms about ripping people off! I only paid $50.00 of the total bill for travel time. I felt someone should not be compensated for trying to scam people. DH Plumbing DID NOT fix anything. So they are not entitled to $251.33. Other plumbers only charge travel time if there is no repair done. I am a Property Manager and manage over 30 houses and apartments. I am very experienced in dealing with repairmen and how financially rewarding it can be for them to fix something that does not need fixing. It's been 5 months since Alaki'i Plumbing fixed the clog in the drain, never had an issue since then. I shudder when I think that I could have spent $8000.00 on a $200.00 repair!!! How many other customers out there are innocently having these guys do repairs that are NOT needed?????
