+ -1 moreReferred by Home Depot, this contractor first promised to complete the work in July, then promptly went out of town for a month. In August, the contractor promised to complete the job in a few days. It took several weeks to tile the floor. The kitchen and entryway were done very unevenly. When leaving, one of the tile workmen admitted he had stepped on the mosaic tile while the mud was still wet, letting it set crooked overnight. It was never corrected. On the upside, the tub surround turned out fine, although it was a bit uneven too. The tiler blamed the framing... Overall, this job that should have taken a few days to complete, but took two months. Unprofessional work at a professional price.
Description of Work: Replaced backer and tile in bathtub surround. Tiled bathroom, entryway and kitchen floors with 18"x18" porcelain tiles.

Description of Work: Owner/Estimater Jim Cadell Hi License#C24958. I went to Home Depot to get estimate and J. Cadell was the one who came.He cancelled appointment once then arrived late. He submitted offer through home Depot but later called me to offer a better deal without going throgh Home Depot. So I accepted wrong choice. He arrived on June 11, 2012 with one helper and left that day. I went to check on work and discovered he had laid 124 tiles and the spacers were not used, so spacing was eratic. I noticed it was uneven with no straight edge around to use? Where the end tiles were some were floating with no tinset underneath which eventually ceramic tile would crack. The next day he arrived and I fired him. He returned my check but the cost incurred by me was as follows: Island Demo to remove 124 tiles and sound proofing. $680.00 Selective Stone to repurchase 124 Tiles used and replaced 2 bags Tinset. $561.23 Total epense: $1341.23. I tried to save a few hundred dollars and it cost me more. A very arrogant owner/installer that also runs his business in Las Vegas.
