Budget Appliance Repair

A part was reconnected so I could use the machine temporarily and I was given an estimate to purchase a permanent fix. But given the age of the machine I decided to purchas a new washer.

I am a repeat customer. They were awesome as before. Polite and professional. Fixed it in no time. Would use again.

Very nice guy. He was fast and cleanup his mess.

In less than an hour the repairman and his wife took the Kenmore refrigerator door off and found a plug that powers the fan had been pulled apart from ice buildup. I was also informed that my "Kenmore" was made in South Korea and required parts from the Korean brand.

Excellent. Wendell was prompt. He is also very knowledgeable and was able to fix the problem and advise on what to do to keep the ice from building up again. I was very pleased with Wendell and would recommend him as well as Budget Appliance Repair to service our

I WON'T HIRE AGAIN. Leon did not fix it even after having manuals, parts lists, and parts sources and many hours. I was still charged! And worse the office manager gave me links to emails addresses that failed. And their web site is nonsense. ... She also told me the owner would contact me, NOT! And it's against policy, Leon would NOT install the new replacement GE Microwave when it comes to Lowe's est mid October.

It went well. Service tech ran washer thru full cycle to assure good operations.

I had a washing machine door latch break several of months ago (to the tune of over $200). Budget repaired it but at the time didn't correct the cause. When I asked them to come back because the washer was still shaking, Wendell pushed on the drum and immediately recognized that the shocks were bad. Wendell at Budget Appliance Repair is as good a technician as they come. And when the company realized the original repair did not correct the issue, they were very good about giving credit for the initial repair. I have used Budge Appliance Repair several times now for different appliances, and I have been very happy with the overall service. I would not hesitate to recommend them and use them again.

Alfredo diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, and installed the part after it arrived (3 weeks later). He was timely, professional, and friendly. He also repaired part of the copper water feed because of a faulty part. I have ice and filtered water from my fridge now. I see mixed reviews for this company - but so far BAR has been fine for repairing my refrigerator and dryer. I think people are taken aback by what it costs to fix things nowadays and some reviews reflect that. It's almost a given that when a plumber, electrician, computer tech, auto mechanic, or appliance tech touch your stuff it'll be in the ballpark of $100 to get started. Yeah pricey, but sometimes you just have to get on with it.

I found this provider on Angie's list and selected them because of their rating. When I called to schedule service, the connection repeatedly dead-ended at a voice mail box. I should have known then to find another provider, but was lulled into complacency by the rating. So I requested an appointment online, and received a telephone call the next day to confirm it. Both in my online request and during the conversation I stressed that I am a member of the military living on a military base, to which the scheduler replied, "No problem." What a lie . . . On the day of the appointment "Alfredo" called because he couldn't find my address in his GPS. When I explained to him where I lived, he told me that his company doesn't go on military bases because they aren't allowed. The only reason they would be prohibited from entering to provide service would be because they are not US citizens; judging from his language skills Alfredo is a recent arrival. Apparently none of the technicians are citizens, since "no one" from their company does work on a military base. This is a surprisingly stupid business model, since there are four major military bases on Oahu; this company loses quite a bit of money to their competitors, or else consciously chooses not to support military families with their services. Alfredo promised to call his dispatcher to have a company representative contact me immediately. You can assume from the rating I've given them that this didn't go as promised, either. If you don't live on a military base in Hawaii, Budget may be fine. But if you live on a military base or are a military family living off base, go somewhere else.

The machine would not cycle correctly and he came out and found out what was the problem. He then ordered the part and came out and repaired it. It has run great since the repair.

I called to request service on a malfunctioning french door refrigerator. I held onto the phone, which was one of the options, and waited for someone to pick up. No one did. A message was left. They had given a number to text but during the playback of their message I had not really gotten it. Called again. Took down the number to text and that number did not work at all. I sent an email. No response. I called the next day. Verified that I had the cell number correct, left another voice mail and sent another text message. Five attempts to contact and despite their advertising, they did not return any calls. In fact none of the appliance repair people contacted ever returned a call. We were left with no choice but to get a new refrigerator. I am amazed this business has a good rating with the better business bureau.

I really didn?t expect this from an Angie list Vendor, Budget should not be on their name. I called for my dryer, made and appointment and the women told me next day at two o?clock and will cost 75 dollars just for the repair man to show up which I agreed. The repairman (Alfredo) was on time, very courteous and professional. He looked at my dryer and with in 40 minutes he was done. It was a burnt electric plug that plugs into the wall outlet. I was happy and relieved but,!!!!!!, when he told me the price $282.72, I was astonished. He did not break down what he did on the receipt just wrote parts and labor $282.72. I figure minus the 75 for showing up and the power cable he replaced could not be more that $50 that leaves $157.72 for tax and labor ????? He was there for 40 minutes max!!!!! I?m dumbfounded Should be called Pricey appliance repair not budget.

Scheduled appt for 1-3PM window, got a call even earlier than that. Once I directed him to my apt building, he signed in at the visitor station and I met him in the lobby. Friendly guy. Once inside the apartment, he went straight to work. I showed him the leak, he looked up fridge specs on his pad, and in ~30 minutes he had it fixed. I was only charged the default $85 "diagnostic fee" plus tax.

CONSUMERS BEWARE! The company charged a fee for the first appliance that the technician placed hands on and also charged a duplicate fee for a visual inspection (no hands on) for the second appliance. Most importantly, the company does NOT give the senior citizens discount (as advertised) unless there is a repair performed.

Everything went fine. He needed some help removing the dryer (it is a stackable unit) because of a handicap railing was in the way. My son was able to help him. He put the dryer vent hose back on but it came off the next day or so, so I had to have him back out to fix that. That was the only reason the company did not get a perfect score from me.

This was a great experience and I will definitely use Budget for appliance repair in the future. Nathan in particular was very knowledgeable and his helper worked very hard as well. They quickly troubleshot a broken line and also fixed the ice maker, leaving the appliance in full working order. Well Done.

Price quoted was was $115 service automatic charge to isolate problem. Once problem found a flat rate will be quoted. If accepted the service charge will be deducted from flat rate, however if not accepted the $115 service charge will apply. The repairman showed up on time and within a minute said that problem was the lid switch and that it was a common problem. The flat rate quote was $253 and that it would take about a half hour. It seemed high but if I didn't accept I would still have to pay the $115 service charge anyway so I accepted. I called the office the next day to inquire why the cost was so high. The lady I spoke to was very nice and explained that they follow the Major Appliance Service National Price Guide and even faxed me a copy of the price list. Sure enough it it showed Switch Lid $249.73. The book also suggests Service Charge $99.95 that they don't follow but charge $115 instead. Overall the workers were very professional, and the work was good, just thought the cost was too high.

They charged $75 to take a look at the problem. They showed up on time and did what they were supposed to do.

The problem was intermittent so was difficult to diagnose. They came out a couple times and were able to troubleshoot the problem with minimal parts replacement. They gave us some tips for what to look for when we experienced the problem. Then they were able to identify the most likely issue. They were right and the problem was fixed.

technician was prompt, courteous and professional. Did not have the exact part - it was on two week back order at the parts place and was able to adapt another part he had and got things up and running. even though it was more work he still charged the same price quoted before finding out the part was out of stock.

I will definitely use them again, just hopefully not for the fridge, again.

The first time I called they came quickly, got the part and installed it but the second time I called they said that they were not repairing dishwashers. I guess they were short on staff and had to decide where to cut service. I was disappointed and ended up calling Sears. They were expensive,

We are a Property Manager for numerous homes and had used Budget Appliance a great deal for many repairs. The work was sometimes good, sometimes just OK, depending on the technician sent out. Then we had several instances where diagnosis was done and parts were replaced, only to have the same problem occur a few days later. The vendor would not stand behind the repairs, saying the problem was in the parts and not their fault. They would then charge again for another call, with sometimes a different diagnosis and even more costs.

Stove top problem: GE one burner "burned-out". Described problem over the phone, they came with parts. Job required two parts. He was punctual and cordial. They don't get an A because the heating element (coil) they installed did not fit appropriately. Moving a pot on that burner was enough to disconnect it from the plug! I actually went to Sears parts and ordered the part and changed it myself. Now it works great! We own another house that had a Kenmore stove, I tried the coil on that stove and it fit perfectly... so, it was a wrong fit. :( The part could have been a universal part, but he should have been able to determine if it was a good fit or not - that was his job. I mean, that's what good service should mean!
