Absolute Termite & Pest Control Hawaii llc PCO#1409
"Absolute Termite and Pest Control is the Absolute Worst company you could hire to tent. I hired them to tent my cottage rental and main house, starting with the rental. I read their lengthy Terms & Conditions which essentially absolved them of any liability for anything occurring as a result of tenting. I signed with the reasonable expectation they would be responsible and respectful, which their reviews seemed to boast, along with an exceptional level of care, and KHON2 news featured. Knowing there is also a pre-tenting inspection done reinforced these reasonable expectations. This was a mistake. After they completed tenting, I was doing work in the yard between the main house and cottage. I could not believe what I saw. There was a 4-5 foot opening in my very expensive solid aluminum fence. I guess this fence got in the way, though it was NEVER mentioned in the pre-tenting inspection as something that needed to be addressed prior to. So what did they do about this expensive fence that got in the way? They ripped that fence panel section from its posts and set it against some trees a few feet away. All the screws in the fence securing each panel to its posts are hidden under a vertical aluminum trim. When they ripped the panel section from its posts, these screws ripped the aluminum exposing uncoated aluminum to the elements and rainy Pali weather. They also ripped the gutter from the house. No one said anything…not during the inspection, not during the tent set up, not during the breakdown and not during the follow up inspection. My neighbors, tenants, and I have always had dogs. We had that costly completely solid aluminum fence installed for a reason. Had the dogs gotten out, many others could have been affected by Absolute’s careless actions and thoughtless negligence. And why should they care? Their Terms & Conditions relieve them of any and all liability, so why not do whatever has to be done, no matter the damage or cost to the property owner, so that they can get as many jobs done and make as much money as possible…after all, it is swarming season. I stood there staring at this giant opening sick to my stomach. I’ve never had a company do work with more disrespect and disregard than care…until this one. To go to somebody’s home and just dismantle and damage it with zero care for the people that live there is DISGUSTING! I’ve lived here my entire life, my father, his parents and so on before that, and every year it gets harder to afford it. Most people tent to avoid bigger expenses in the future. I now have more expenses currently because I hired Absolute. Their manager eventually contacted me offering a “credit to my account.” But why would applying a credit to the next job, which would already cost 7 times more than the cottage, be appealing after they ripped out any trust I had in the company to begin with…not to mention the extreme likelihood doing so will only result in more damages I have to pay for. “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Be smarter than I was and hire a different company."

DIY animal removal is rarely a good idea and is not advised for many reasons. First, these types of animals can carry diseases and, therefore, pose a health risk to you, your family, and your pets if mishandled. Second, depending on your city or municipality, it may be illegal to remove or handle wildlife yourself.
Sealing your home against these animals yourself is also a bad idea. Trapping an animal under your house will cause odor and insect problems when it passes away.
Pest control is not the same as animal removal. Pest control specialists treat for insects and bugs, often by using chemicals. Animal removal specialists try to avoid chemicals if possible and instead work to trap and move the animal that's causing problems.
Since each expert has their own removal methods, it's best to contact a pest control professional for insects and bugs and an animal control specialist for other animals.
Animal removal specialists specialize in removing critters and wildlife from in and around your home. These include:
Bats
Birds
Groundhogs
Moles and voles
Opossums
Mice and rats
Raccoons
Skunks
Squirrels
The specialist's method to remove these critters will depend on the animal. For example, groundhogs will be live-trapped and relocated, whereas, for birds, the expert will remove and discard the inactive nest and sanitize the area.
You might be tempted to call your local municipality to remove animals from your property, such as a groundhog burrowing in your yard or raccoons getting into your trash cans. However, they typically only remove domestic animals like dogs and cats from properties, or sick and injured wildlife that pose a public safety risk or health threat, such as a rabid animal. They typically do not capture or remove healthy wildlife.
Animal removal professionals have the tools, knowledge, and skills to trap and remove wild animals adequately and humanely. They also can relocate them correctly.
Professional animal removal costs between $200 and $600 for average homeowners. However, depending on the type and number of critters removed, this cost could range from $85 to $1,400.
This cost does not include the cost of home damage caused by the animal, which could be as low as $300 for minor drywall repair or as much as $15,000 for crawl space cleaning and restoration.
