Stan is an excellent technician!! Service calls were prompt. The main board is not in stock anywhere; to expedite the repair, Aand E let me procure a repaired board. That partially fixed the problem. Aand E quickly took care of the inverter which then completely fixed the problem. There was no labor charge for the 2nd visit. Labor and parts charges (for the inverter) were very reasonable. Aand E went above and beyond expectations. I fully recommend them and will happily use them again.

Did a good job, but did not reposition dryer that had been pulled-out for access. Doors on washer dryer area could not be closed. It was difficult to reposition by myself. Clearance should have been checked before the job was considered done.

Description of Work: First: the $700 is the money I spent (wasted) on buying a Samsung dishwasher in the first place (but that is an issue I will address on product rating websites at a later time). the repair by A&E as thus far been under warranty (but either A&E attempted to change the date of the service call so that it appeared to be out of the warranty period, which probably resulted in me losing ALOT of money). Let me explain in more detail: We bought a Samsung dishwasher from Lowes. The dishwasher shorted out about every other time we used it within the first 3 months after installation. We had to hit the breaker over and over to use it. Probably due to a faulty motor and/or control panel. I contacted Samsung 22 May 2012. I could not schedule A/E until 09 JUN (still under warranty which expired 11 JUN). A/E came to my home in Mililani no less than 4 times between approximately 27 MAY - 30 JUN, 2012. YET --- it was reported to Samsung that the first service call request made in May had been "canceled" and that service was not requested again until 27 JUN (conveniently AFTER my warranty expires). WHAT?? I cannot tell you how #$@%!%% I was when I found that out from Samsung. How I found out about this "redacted" repair history: I was seeking a refund from Samsung after not having a dishwasher for weeks. They said "sorry, this service request is out of warranty and so is your appliance" ---- ME: "uh, excuse me, NO IT IS NOT. I called you guys way back at the end of May when it was still under warranty and it has still not been fixed after 4 visits to my house, a new motor, new water valve and replacement of the control panel --- what are you talking about????" -- Samsung: "A&E reported that you canceled the service request in May and it was rescheduled for 27 JUN". If there was a way to reach through the phone and get physical, I think I would have. Here what played out: Service Call #1 (27 MAY 2012) - A/E checked the dishwasher and said they couldn't do anything at that time because a new motor was needed. Motor was ordered Service Call #2 (09 JUN 2012) - A/E changed motor. Dishwasher still didn't work. A/E said we needed a new water valve. Water valve was ordered. Service Call #3 (23 JUN 2012) - A/E replaced water valve ( and I finally was given an actual service receipt showing a repair was done; in hindsight I should have been more diligent about getting these receipts). Dishwasher shot out water and repair man said "ok - it's fixed". Repair guy left. I tried to do a load of dishes - NO WATER. I called them back IMMEDIATELY. They scheduled to come out again. Service Call #4 (30 JUN 2012) - A/E came back again (this morning). Repair guy said the control board/panel was bad. He removed the control panel - it was in PRISTINE condition from what I could see. He replaced it anyway. Dishwasher still did not work. He said the motor is bad again and needs to be replaced again. He scheduled to come out again (14 JUL 2012 which will be Service Call #5!!!!). That's when I called Samsung to inquire about a refund (is this not enough BS to put up with before a full refund is warranted??). They said they need "proof" of the failed attempts to repair. They also said the repair was "out of warranty" because their records indicated that the service request in May had been canceled and that the only request they had on file was started on 27 JUN 2012. I had only the one receipt from A/E (the JUN 23 service receipt for replacement of the water valve). I pointed out how the date of valve replacement pre-dates the date they have on file for beginning of this repair request --- so HOW IS IT POSSIBLE that nothing was started until 27 JUN 2012???? Even if I cannot "prove" that the repair request was initiated on 22 May, I at least have proof that it is sometime before 27 JUN. They said: "get the service records faxed/emailed directly from A/E to Samsung and we will then tell you what the options are" ---- OPTIONS? how about you give me my money back and stop making appliances? DON'T BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES and I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND A&E FACTORY SERVICE FOR ANY REPAIRS!!! I would be happy to retract this complaint if A& E addresses my concerns appropriately and communicates the ACTUAL service history to Samsung

Description of Work: I phoned the GE air conditioner repair service 800# and was given an appointment with their local provider: A&E Factory Service in Honolulu. I was told the service visit would cost $75.00 to look at one air conditioner and $25.00 to look at each additional air conditioner (we have three air conditioners). The repairman arrived and looked at one air conditioner that he said needed a new blower and was pretty corroded from the humidity. His estimated cost to repair the airconditioner was: $242.00 for labor + $11.40 tax on labor= $253.40 and $300.98 for parts (1 SIB I/D FAN: $242.19 & 1 CENTRIFUGAL: $58.79) + $14.18 tax = $315.16 for a TOTAL: $568.56. In addition, instead of being charged $75.00 for his service visit as quoted, I was charged $97.00 +$4.57 tax for a TOTAL: $101.57. This also gave me concern that even though the quote was $568.56 to repair the air conditioner, that once he got started repairing it, he might insist that more parts & labor were needed and it would cost more based on the fact his service visit was higher than I had been quoted by GE. The service repairman was very nice but I was disappointed in having to pay a higher amount for his services than I had been quoted by GE for him to look at one air conditioner.......good thing I did not have him look at any others. (It was also my understanding from GE that the amount of his service visit could be applied to the total repair costs if I went ahead with having the air conditioner repaired.) The reason I would use this service again is because it is the repair service that GE uses here in Honolulu but I would also need to be prepared to pay more than quoted.
