Great price. High quality. Arrived with about six guys early in the morning and were done by noon for an 1100 square foot roof. Only drawback was having to wait for our turn because they are so busy and highly sought after—but definitely worth the wait. Mahalos Yama’s!

Unbelievable Company, they truly need negative stars here !! This company is unreliable & dangerous ! For 2 months we have called telling them about major leaking on a 3.5 year old roof (5 year full warranty on installation by contract). 6 appts set, 6 appts. ignored with no calls or texts, and dozens of calls & lies later still no show. I am told they want to come to my house when I am NOT home to get on my roof?? I said no way and asked for Brians direct number. Finally got Brian Petersons cell number (808-896-6168) and left a very civil message. He calls back in 2 minutes & begins to threaten me !! Started to scream & scream to Come to my office tough guy !!! I dare you come to my office !!" I kept saying why? You need to come repair my roof as by contract. He went on literally screaming for over 5 minutes threatening me ordering me to come to his office then hung up now they will not answer any of our calls !! I guess its time to call a lawyer or the police !! I RECORDED and saved all messages as well as his threatening phone call back to me. We advise to everyone that you DO NOT HIRE YAMAS ROOFING !! They do bad work to begin with they forgot the flashing & now in just 3 years the entire front edge is leaking !!! He thinks nothing of lying & threatening old handicapped people !! I will be happy to share his threatening recorded call with anyone thinking of hiring this company !!!!

We hired a different roofer that did a great job. Yama ignored a $30K job.

It went perfectly! It is difficult for me to expand on "It went perfectly"! Everything they did was excellent. They were patient with my questions. When I had to delay the project for 6 months, they were supportive and patient and never raised the estimate which was the lowest estimate on the island. We called for an estimate and they came out promptly and sent us an estimate the next day. That was impressive. So we sent hem 50% down payment. Then it was months before they came to do the job. We left numerous messages and rarely heard from the company. The gutters were finally installed but they were also to fix a leaky roof and repair the roof over a walkway. The "repair" went on for weeks with them showing up sporadically. The leak was never repaired so we told them to forget it, we would hire someone else. The walkway roof had to be redone by the new company we hired because it had not been done satisfactorily by Yama's.

This was in Hawaii so the expectations are lower than other states I use contractors in. However all the people I was in contact with was professional and easy to work with. I asked for my certain details of the job be done differently tham they normally do it but they did not hesitate to satisfy my request. For any roofing job I suggest you make a detailed list of the agreed details of the job being performed. This is good to have on the job as it is easy for the office and job site people to not communicate all the details which can create issues. Roofing with gutters and skylites is a very complicated type of job and you need to go over all aspects of the job in advance. The folks at Yama are a pleasure to work with and I would use them again without hesitation.

Don't expect Yama's roofing to come to your aid.

I called them up. They came out to do estimate. Arranged time of work. Work was done. And now we have the best...absolutely the best...looking roof in the neighborhood. Everyone is jealous! They take Visa. People look at our roof and say "WOW". Everything is the best and better than we expected. Then we repainted the house. The roof is going to last after husband and I are dead. Go with them.

He is the best roofer in town. He goes out of his way to help you out. He is not just a fair price roofer, but he really does things for the community. He is a great guy. He is awesome. I usually take care of my own leaky roof problem; but if the problem is too much for me to handle, then he comes out and take care of the problem. He charged me a fair rate. The time before that, he was 20-30% less in all the other bids on the whole house. He has a full-dedicated crew of experienced technicians. If he works in the rainy area, then he has to get the things done in a timely fashion. He has a large well-experienced technical crew. He researches the right product for your application. He takes time to give detailed and professional bids. The final bid price will resemble the original rate. The final complete cost is same as the bid cost. He is accurate in detailed bids that it includes well-researched materials. He will show the gray area because the area may have rotten wood or framing. He will take the roof off and tell you that you have to pay another $2000-$3000 to re-frame a section in the roof because he didn't want to call you up on the attic and give you a bid from the beginning. He is an honest roof guy. He is not the cheapest guy.

I live in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision in Keaau, HI. We use water catchment here, so require a non-toxic metal roof. Yama's was recommended by an acquaintance who knew the Owner, Brian Richardson. I was told roofing in Hawaii was very expensive because of the cost of material. Called for an estimatre in March, which I promptly received in writing. Had to wait a couple of months to arrange financing, then recontacted Yama's to finalize a contract. Took a couple of weeks to arrange a service date. They came out on a sunny morning, which is rare in Keaau, HI. Stripped the old metal roof and replaced with new metal panels by 3 pm. Took the considerable mess with them. Watertight for the first time since I owned the place. Came back a week later and finished the detail work. Their cameraderie was a bit noisy, but they were courteous, professional and quick. I will be using them again to replace the gutter system in the future.
