About us

Locally owned by its employees HPM Building Supply has 4 locations on the Big Island (Hilo, Keaau, Kona & Waimea) and 1 on Oahu (Campbell). Since 1921. Since starting out over 90 years ago as a small, family-owned Hilo lumber mill, HPM Building Supply—now 100-percent employee-owned—has grown to include three full-service building supply centers and four lumber yards on the Big Island. The company manufactures pre-engineered trusses and wall-panels, metal roofing and pre-hung doors, and treats its own lumber. From its Honolulu facility HPM also provides lumber, building supplies, home planning and custom metal roofing to O‘ahu, Maui and Kaua‘i.

HPM is a building materials supplier including: Cabinets & Countertops, Metal and Asphalt Roofing, Doors, Windows & Millwork, Electrical, Hardware, Home & Garden, Closet Organization, Lumber, Packaged Homes & Home Plans, Paint, Plumbing, Tools, Truss and Wall Panels, Steel Framing Components, Decking and Railings. In addition we provide services including truss, wall panel, metal roofing and cabinet design; material house bonding; and home design services for packaged homes and custom homes.

It went really well... All we did was give them our architect's drawings, asked them for a list of materials that we needed and a proposal for the materials. It only took them a couple of hours to get back to us with a reasonably priced quote...
