Roger Borce called back 2 days later to schedule an estimate for the work on the roof. Seemed nice but he did not show up for the scheduled date and time. After an hour I called him that my nephew is waiting for him at the property He did not show up. Two days later, he left a message on my nephew's cell phone for my nephew to call him back. I advised my nephew to just ignore it since it didn't seem like he wanted our business.
Description of Work: The farthest we went with this roofing company is a date for estimate which he was a "no show."

Tasks: Solar panels removed, both photovoltaic and hot water. (He had to get a subcontractor to remove and re-install PV panels -- one more part of the alternate energy source scam that Obama and Al Gore don't tell us about), removed old tiles and underlayment, installed new underlayment and shingles, re-installed hot water panel and the sub put the PV panels back on. Mand R installed new gutters and repaired a ten x four foot soffit area damaged by roof leak.. It all took several days, we have a big roof. The workers kept site cleaned up as they went and were on-time every day. The guy who owns/runs the operation is great... an up-by-the-bootstraps American success story. It was pricey. But I didn't get competitive bids because I liked this guy and he had gotten good marks on Angie's List -- and it may not have made any difference anyhow. (Everything in Hawaii is expensive, esp. labor.) And he got the one call-back problem fixed ASAP. I recommend this firm. If you are price-conscious you may want to get bids on your roofing job and add that to the calculus of committing to a major home repair. But if the price makes sense, these guys do fine work.

Our house is 3,000 square feet with a VERY complicated roof, which required quite a bit of repair. They did a terrific job. We LOVE our new roof! The crew was super-nice, friendly, professional and cheerful. They cleaned up after themselves daily, never smoked on site and were overall a real pleasure to have around. The owner, Roger, and the foreman, Arnell, were particularly responsive to our concerns. I can't recommend them more highly.
Description of Work: M & R Roofing installed a beautiful, new asphalt shingle roof on our Manoa rainforest home, including removal of two layers of older roof consisting of cedar shakes and metal tile, which had been installed on top of the shakes, and performed extensive carpentry repairs on the underlying woodwork.

It went well, I have no leaks, it was done fast, and they also give complimentary 100ft of gutters with re-roof or new roof.
Description of Work: re-roofed main structure and mended the joining roof to the extension because it was a leaking.
