Sears Appliance Repair

I trusted Angie's List and got this work done on 6-11-2018. Appliance Repair (Dustin 808-278-0085) Dustin responded quickly and his total bill for parts and labor was $615.00. Our ice maker was giving us problems so he changed the ice maker, then realized the gasket was cracked so he installed a new gasket. Today 1-3-2019 found the new gasket he installed was not installed correctly. Due to bad installation the freezer gasket now has a tear on the upper corner of the gasket. (see attached) We paid $615.00 for a repair that did not even last 6 months. As we look at our bill, I believe the original gasket didn't have a good seal, therefore freezing up the ice maker. Nevertheless, we trusted Dustin and he changed the ice maker before realizing the gasket needed to be changed. I spoke with Dustin today and advised him of the problem and asked for a refund since my husband does not want to use this service again. Dustin would not do any type of refund, since he claims the warranty was over. I have attached a receipt and a picture of where the tear is. There is no warranty on this receipt, I think we have been scammed on this repair. We will never trust this site or do any work.

They never showed up.

Had made one online appointment in which for a reason unknown to us was cancelled in which we than made another online appointment and again had to wait four days. We had an appointment between 8-12 which he had arrived after 12. Being that Its a Sears brand he had not the part on his truck and we were told that he needs to return. In addition I questioned his estimate being it was extremely high at $ 255.00 but all he can say was that's what the computer says. Certainly I told him it's not acceptable and don't even bother returning which I immediately contacted another company in which he said over the phone that he carries these switches on his truck and can come in the morning. His total cost was $ 155.00 and job done. I had left Sears customer service messages to tell them of my bad experience but had received no reply. My advice stay far away from them being even though you might of purchased from them makes no difference of them having the part available.

Appliances are now working properly after repaired.

was told the problem was not running hot water into the washer initially. installed point of use water heater to ensure hot water to the washer but problem still exist. don't want to call them back and have to pay for another service call.

Did not receive any returned calls from any manager, nor did I receive any compensation that was requested through the BBB Chicago. After 40+ years of buying Kenmore / Sears appliances, this dryer will be our last.

No problem. Came on time, had the part, in and out.

The repairs went well and I have no problems with the technicians services. But the tech made an error and forgot to apply a 25% discount coupon that I showed to him. He acknowledged the coupon but I did not see that the discount was not applied until later. After being transferred to 6 different customer support numbers, the last person I spoke to, offered first a $30 discount and when I said no, the offered a $60 credit. 25% off of my total charges should have been $116.00. We all make mistakes but to no correct the error is terrible customer service. This may be why they may not be in business in the future with this type of service. I will be look for another vendor for future appliance purchases.

The cost for repairs was more than replacement and warranty was only 90 days.

I was quoted a price of over $650++ for repairs, maybe more, if the freezer door needed to be replaced. Technician recommended that it would make more sense to buy a new refrigerator vice having my current unit repaired. Repair call was cancelled.

1. Polite. Tried to sell extended warrantee and coil cleaning (which we did) but lied about correcting the problem. Said had to buy a whole set of parts that he would have to order and that it would be expensive. Looked the solution up on YouTube and will do the repair myself with $15 worth of parts. Incompetent. 2. This 2nd person was knowledgeable, confirmed my diagnosis, offered options, gave estimate of repair. We elected not to fix. Excellent impression.

The washer was successfully repaired. The repair cost was reasonable. The technician was polite and professional.

After discussion with repairman, we decided to purchase a new washer. He gave us a discount coupon to use towards a new washer.

Perfectly...Sears technician came on time and with the knowledge to fix the water/ice dispenser paddle. This after I called a local repairman more than two months prior. The local repairman misdiagnosed the problem, ordered the wrong part (twice) and when he finally came by, was unable to fix the refrigerator. The Sears repairman used the original "wrong" part and fixed the refrigerator in about 15 minutes. He charged me the initial service call minimum ($107.00), and nothing more, although he could have charged me additional for the repair.

cont.: So 3 service calls and no stove. The first tech took the 1st part with him & hadn't returned it to the parts dept.(even though i had been charged for it and it had been mailed to my house) Another week went by and we just gave up on Sears service. The last i heard is that we would have to order this huge computer assembly for $600 in order to get the little ribbon (flat) cable.It also seems that Electrolux, manufacturer of the stove was offering too few repair parts, so they can sell you much more so you can get a small cable. I wish that Sears cared but it appears that they don't.

It was really good. We had the home warranty. They come up and they just do a replacement. THey came according to the time they said they would do it. November, they'll do one more service again. The technician that came out knew what he was doing. He w3as really proficient and did it quickly. We had no issue for that either.

They kept the time, they weren't late and proceeded in an efficient manner.

They did what they were supposed to do and they were cordial about it. I can depend on them.

The tech came, assessed the situation and installed the paddle part I already ordered. The part was sitting around because a previous appliance repair service completely dropped the ball on what needed to be done, and what part(s) were needed to complete the repair. The Sears repairman fixed the dispenser in about 15 minutes. Since I had the part, the Sears repairman only charged me for the cost of the initial visit, not for time to install the part.

I think he replaced a part. It was something to do with the freezer.

I think they worked on my washing machine and I thought they did a good job completed it in a satisfactory manner. They made the repair in a timely manner and it seems to be working fine.

The technician that comes is awesome. He is efficient and goes above and beyond to help get the appliances repaired as soon as possible

Their warranty service is very slow and it's hard to get an appointment. We have a maintenance agreement with them and we paid for it. However, when we call up and ask them to fix an appliance, it takes them a month for them to be available.
