Description of Work: In July 2015, we experienced a water leak, and were searching for a renovation company, to not only repair, but to totally renovate our Master Bathroom Due to a bad experience with a previous "contractor", we decided to seek a bigger company. A professional company that would do the job right. Plus, if we had any issues, at least we would have some recourse. After much research and consideration, we decided to hire "Renovation Associates", a company that your website recommends. The renovation was supposed to take 5 weeks to complete. But, we ended up living in a hotel room for 2 months. There were several issues that were needing to be addressed . . . an unfinished bathroom with several issues, cabinets that weren't ordered correctly from the original design, poor paint jobs, an incorrectly installed stair railing, incomplete stairs (which we would need to pay an additional $8,000) since it didn't "appear" on the "companies" version of the original proposal/contract submitted by the Sales/Designer. They want additional money to complete the original work that we hired them for. So . . . it's now June 2016, we still have no completed bedroom or bathroom. I have been using our sofa as a bed for 6 months, while my husband sleeps in the office. Due to my husband's health conditions, all the remaining unfinished work, electrical, mudding, sanding, paint, moving of furniture is all on me. "Renovation Associates" has left my family, and our home in a devastating mess. The stress of living in our home, with our 3yr old son . . . I wouldn't wish this treatment on my worst enemy. I'm shocked that your company/website recommends such a company. How is it, that Consumer who places their trust, their faith, and their hard earned money into a business to provide them with a service/product, and get nothing in return. How is that even legal, and there are countless people who are being taken advantage of. We seem to have no rights, our hands are tied, and we remain at the mercy of big companies, who have no compassion or regard for home owners who are hard working people. I was taught as a young girl if there is a problem, that I need to speak up. I trusted your recommendation, I trusted the BBB, TrustDALE, and even YOU Angie's List. Our home is a constant reminder of broken promises, and that we were treated like fools. . . would you like YOUR family to live like that. Thanks Angie, for your recommendation!
