Dirt Tech Landscaping

We are extremely satisfied with the work Robert and his son did for us. After my first call, Robert came out the next day, looked at our project, gave some advice, quoted a price, set up a date to install the sod (500 sq. ft.) When they arrived they cleared the existing roots and leveled the area and made prep for the installation of sod. On the day of installation they were here at 8:30AM and installed the sod, they went above and beyond, by doing more than what we had discussed. I had two areas that I mentioned I would take care of but they went ahead and did those for me. I will use them again if needed and highly reccomend them if you have a landscape project. Gary

This was a quick and easy solution to a drainage issue. Robert and his assistant dug out 40 ft. and installed capped tubing to my downspouts in back and out past the garden to the backyard. Sod was removed and replaced with no issues.

Robert did a fantastic job. He came out to review the problems and took the time to discuss what work would need to be done. We received a quote while he was there. When it came time to do the work, he called us to see if he could start on a Saturday because the weather was supposed to change the next week. We are extremely pleased with the aesthetics of his work. Our yard looks much better than it did before and the water should drain exactly where we expect it to go. We will definitely reach out to Robert when we are ready to begin our spring landscaping work.

Excellent work. Robert and his crew were on time, on budget and cleaned up afterward. We were amazed at how he and his small crew were able to do so much so quickly. He was on site directing his crew and he was a master bobcat operator. It may take a few attempts at reaching him but well worth the wait!

It went well. He kept me updated on when the work would take place an finished ahead of schedule. Great job!

Robert was great to deal with from the beginning. He was very friendly and was able to swing by my property to assess the job the same day I called and got me a quote the next day. Robert's proposal included more work than other quotes I received and it had a better price. Robert and his team stuck to the timeline agreed upon and were excellent at communicating throughout the entire process. He was quick to respond to all calls and texts if he didn't answer right away. They were very efficient and got the work done quickly. The yard looked great when they were done and we can't wait to start using it. They cleaned up each day and after the job was done. I will absolutely use Dirt Tech for any future landscaping needs. I can't recommend them enough.

Robert and his crew did an excellent job! They even coordinated with the company installing our irrigation system to make sure every phase was executed flawlessly! He basically re-worked my entire yard! I would defiantly hire Robert again!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Robert and his crew. He worked within my microscopic budget and offered creative solutions to my drainage issues when we determined I could not afford a retaining wall. He cleared the entire yard, brought in dirt, rerouted drainage, graded, mulched and even added a nice gravel "patio" area under my deck, all within my budget. When I asked him to add a couple of other "to do" items from my list he did so cheerfully and economically. My yard is now a beautiful, shady, almost level dog park for my pets and clients to enjoy! You could not be in better hands than Dirt Tech Landscaping!

Robert was one of the most detail-oriented, prompt (actually always early, hard working, and thorough professionals we have ever worked with. We had many different estimates & discussions with landscape companies about what could to be done with our backyard, but Robert had the greatest vision & was also able to work within our budget. His team was very professional & respectful. The results far exceeded our expectations!!! We are just thrilled with our new yard!! He kept me informed during the whole process and provided advice as to what would be the best replacement for my yard. His crew was polite and courteous. Even my kids noticed!

After the initial contact, the provider failed to respond to multiple phone calls and follow up questions through Angie's list message system. i chose this provider because of the good reviews but unfortunately I did not have the same experience

First of all, as others have said: Robert does not "Sell Jobs." He truly listens to the Homeowner's Objectives and Budget, and makes Sensible, Quality recommendations. While he was here estimating, he advised me on an outdoor problem I need to solve, that I thought would necessarily involve 1 or 2 big landscape project(s); he said not, told me why, told me who to call to get it done properly but inexpensively. I cannot imagine Using any company other than Dirt Tech Landscaping for my outdoor needs (and wishes) in the future. Robert and Son Mitch are Absolute Best Quality, Truly Professionals, Robert throws in so many extras; and surprisingly, at a Best Price too. (If $1000 seems high-priced for the project, consider that Fill-Dirt is $150 per each Truck Load, then start adding all the trucks, gas-powered heavy machinery and equipment, other materials and supplies, etc... How did they pay themselves for their labor?) We need a company such as this one to stick around: Please do not take advantage of this man and his adult son, both of honesty and integrity, and very smart and hard work. As I told them, I used a different company (at our previous home) with men who received college degrees in "Dirt" (or Horticulture). But Dirt-Tech, Robert and Mitch, did a Superior Job. I thought they'd roll-in a dump truck, dump the dirt, roll it flat, and leave. Would have looked fine (to me), but would have settled over time, and/or washed away. They took the pains of pouring shallow layers, gas-tampering many-many times back and forth, each shallow layer, until super-tight (looked like concrete it was so tight, just what I needed) and level. They did so much prep work, too (removing old fence, removing shrubs, etc). And, they did not even include in the job costs all of the plywood (@ $20/sheet x 12 sheets) that they put down to protect the front landscape from equipment damage rolling through to get to the backyard, and buying tons of pine straw ($$$) to protect the new grading from getting pelted from some rain expected before the fence is installed and the area is finished. And, they are respectful of the neighbors and neighborhood (little things like putting out bright orange safety cones for traffic, etc). Robert really cares about the customer's world and landscape results. For potential customers who want "Wow-Landscapes" done, My Job may seem quite... unsexy; their work, may seem unappealing to you. But This Job is what I Needed now. And because it was a Job Super-Well Done, I will be mapping out 2 "beautification"landscaping projects, to include soil erosion control too (They know dirt!), for them to come do for us... I hope. In a nutshell, Robert gave me sound advise, that although did not generate work for his company, allowed me to do a few things to give our house curb appeal, without breaking the bank. I really appreciate the up front integrity that Robert shared. If he doesn't talk himself out of a project, I am sure he will do an excellent job for you as his customer.

I use Angie's List to find contractors. Dirt Tech has incredible reviews so I contacted them. Robert came out promptly to meet with me. I explained what I was trying to do with the back yard and he talked through it with me and togehter we came up with the best plan for me, my dogs, and preserving the naturalness of the area. Robert has a way of working with you in finding ways for things to work instead of why they won't. Robert promptly provided an estimate. His price was within $150 of what i had expected. I sought no competitive bids and felt very good about going ahead with Robert. The work began within a week and was completed in five days as promised despite nasty weather conditions. The work was done very meticulously by Robert and his son, Mitch. He checked with me from time to time to ensure I was satisfied with how things were going. Rain came and Robert worked with what the weather gave him, only opening up the ground to the extent that he could complete before the rain would return. He worked on strips toward the end as the rain became more prevalent. We absolutely love the yard now. Robert turned our lumpy back yard into a park for us and the dogs. We found that if you need grading done, don't hire, a "bobcat work", guy. There's so much more that Robert, a "landscape guy", did in grading and raking that made our yard finish out so great. I will always return to Robert for more work in other parts of our yard. He's so particular and caring for getting it right and getting you satisfied. I received much more than expected. Some unanticipated things came up alng the way and Robert's price did not change a bit. I can't say enough about recommending Dirt Tech. Use them for your work. You'll be writing a glowing recommendation like this too!

We called Robert after getting his details from Angies List. He was very quick and responsive. He came in and gave an estimate that week itself. We had to do the entire lawn. He and his crew removed the old mosses on it, tilled,aerated,graded, and laid Zoysia. He also corrected and laid proper drain pipes and advised us on our already installed irrigation. We looked for many other vendors too before him,none of them satisfied us both technically and financially.He was the first and the best provider we got sold. He gave the best lowest price that we never expected and the best quality service. Thank You Robert and Team. Our Lawn is lush green now and our son loves playing there.

My wife and I got Robert's contact information from Angie's list. We emailed him, and the next day he contacted us. We set up a meeting for the following week. He showed up promptly and gave us great options to consider for our projects. He answered all our questions and met with us on two different occasions to look over shrubs, plants, and trees and Robert went at length to discuss ideas and options with us. Robert listens and takes into consideration everything his customers say. We ended up going with most of his ideas for the projects, all of which turned out to be great. Now our yard looks professionally landscaped, and we couldn't be happier. He is a pleasure to work with, knowledgeable regarding all types of landscaping and irrigation, reliable, and his prices are competitive. We immediately recognized that Robert and his team take pride in their work, by not getting in a hurry and making sure it's done right the first time. We highly recommend Robert and his team for any landscaping needs you may have. We would to give Dirt Tech Landscaping an A+ rating. Couldn't be happier with the work done by Dirt Tech. They were prompt, professional, and charged a fair price. Robert took extra pains to make sure the work was done to perfection. Such a great guy to work with. Hire these guys - you won't be sorry!

Robert Hattersley and his crew did an excellent job correcting a drainage problem in my back yard. My late in-laws had the house remodeled in 1967, adding a den, bedroom and a basement to the back of the house. The back yard wasn't graded properly and every time it rained, water would flow back toward the house, going under the door and pooling in the basement. Robert immediately saw what needed to be done to fix a 48 year old problem. He worked the job into his already busy spring schedule and it took about 2 weeks before they came. When they arrived, Robert was with them to supervise the work. They completed the job in approximately 4 hours and without harming my lawn or making tracks in it with the bobcat and equipment. Other companies had told me this was unavoidable and my lawn would be destroyed. Evidently Dirt Tech is more experienced than most landscape companies and I appreciate that they know what they are doing. The next day, we got a heavy down-pouring of rain and the water drained away from the house! I was very happy!. During the rain, some of the wheat straw and grass seed washed off down at the back near the fence and Robert and his crew came back and fixed it, no charge! I was pleasantly surprised at the courtesy and professionalism shown. You don't see that much nowadays, I have found. I will call Dirt Tech and Robert when I need any landscape work done and I will definitely refer him to anyone I know who needs landscape work done!

I love Robert Hattersley and his team. They arrived on time and worked diligently on my yard. I was amazed at the level of professionalism I witnessed. I had some really deep sinkholes and now I can't wait to see the end results of my newly planted yard. Dirt Tech Landscaping was one of the most professional companies I have ever worked with. Several of my neighbors came over after watching them work and asked them to come and check out their yards. Robert was very thorough in explaining what his company would be doing to repair my yard. When he came out to give me an estimate he took me step by step of what type of work would be done. He is very friendly and likeable and was very patient answering all the questions I asked. I would highly recommend this company. The job was completed in two days amazing.

I first attempted contact with Dirt Tech Landscaping via their listed telephone number. An answering machine picked up with a generic voice repeating back the telephone number, followed by a beep. Thinking it odd that a business would not even bother preparing an answering machine recording message that announced the company name as a minimum, I went ahead and left all of my contact information. To make sure I had reached the right phone number, I went a step further and went to their website, where you can click a button marked "Request Service." Again I submitted full contact information and a description of the services I was in need of. The next day Robert from Dirt Tech telephoned me and stated he was engaged in a project at present but would call me back in a day or two when he knew more about his availability. Regrettably, Robert has never called me back. As I see others have reported similar issues in Angie's List reviews, I'll consider this a No Sale. Waste of my time.

Robert and his crew did a terrific job on all of the projects for both myself and the extensive HOA projects. There was a lot of give and take involved, as a number of HOA members were involved whose own knowledge of the project issues exceeded my own. Accordingly, some of the project requirements changed mid-course. Robert was never less than a gentleman in his expertise, professionalism, responsiveness, and commitment to doing the best possible job. Overall, the finished projects look great and have been extremely well-received by the neighborhood.

Robert is very knowledgeable and I felt he knew exactly what I wanted. I had previously had someone out that quoted the same job at 10x the price. Robert worked within my budget and made great suggestions on how to make the yard nice and useable. He knew what all the plants were and advised on which were worth keeping and what should be removed. They had to take down my fence to get the equipment in. They laid down plywood so they didn't damage the front yard. The fence was put back up. I have dogs that were in and out of part of the yard and they did a great job of watching out for the dogs and making sure they were secured when needed. The grass was looking great and unfortunately some army worms arrived and ate my entire lawn. I called Robert when I noticed the grass wasn't looking right and he came right back out. Sadly, the worms got the grass but Robert worked to fix the problem and I now have a beautiful, level, backyard full of grass!

Robert responded quickly and we met to get a quote together but he never called me back with a figure. I really would have liked a price so I could consider hiring him for the work....

The service was good. One person came out to do the estimate. Three guys came out and it took three days to complete the job. They cleaned up very good. I would say they were real good and accurate with their prices.
