On August 10, John Coleman of Coleman Plumbing and his son Jason came out to investigate a water leak that was occurring at my parent's home. The water was bubbling up very close to the gas meter and other utilities near the sidewalk leading up to the front door. After 8 hours of carefully digging around the cables, roots of bushes, and tunneling under the sidewalk, they found a crushed water pipe under the sidewalk. They made a decision that the pipe was not worthy of repairs. Their experience was "if it's broken here, it's probably broken somewhere else along the same pipe." (Cost was $850). For that amount of money, they also filled in a very large hole that was dug by a previous plumber who unsuccessfully searched for the breakage in the pipeline. John and his son Jason returned two days later (August 12) with the necessary pipes, insulation materials, valves, etc., and capped off water to crushed pipe and dug a ditch to lay down a new connection from the meter to the house. The new main pipe penetrated through the concrete floor in the garage. They laid to a new insulated water line along the wall of the garage. They connected it to the water pipes going into the house. They had difficulty finding a good place to connect the new pipe, given the builders had several pipes crammed into a small space within the walls. Jason was diligent and was successful in finding a workaround. They replaced main shut off with 3/4 inch brass shut-off and the replaced the main pressure reducing value. (Cost was $3,690) We received a 10% senior citizen discount as advertised on their Angie's List page. John and Jason were professional, kind, experienced plumbers. My parents (who are in their mid-to-late 80's) felt at ease with them. We do not know if their price was high or low compared to another's. We were more than satisfied with their work and were happy to pay their fee.

I called Coleman Plumbing Services or an estimate. I was put off a week because of more pressing work - read more lucrative jobs. A week later Coleman called to say that there had been some weather related cancellations. So, they came and surveyed the frozen pipe/valve problem. I knew that it would not be good when I saw Mr. Coleman ponder a long time with the estimate sheet. The estimate was $585. There was not the Angie's discount as advertised. I thought it way too high. I asked Mr. Coleman about the Angie's list 10% senior discount. (I am 75 yrs. old) He said, "No, it is a $26 coupon." So, I told Mr. Coleman that I would get another bid. Consequently, Coleman charged me $79 for a "service call." According to Angie's List Coleman states that estimates are free. So beware that it will cost you a $79 "service call" even if no work is performed. When I asked if the $79 would come off the estimate, should Colman perform the work, I was told "no." And Mr. Coleman said they would come out at their convenience, as if they were doing me a favor. After confirming on Angie's List, that Coleman states that estimates are free, I called Mr. Coleman and said that there was a mistake, that the estimate should be free. Mr. Coleman said it is only free when they bid large jobs. I could understand a service fee if I had a leaky faucet fixed. Also, I told Mr. Coleman that his advertisement on Angie's list promotes a senior discount of 10%. Mr. Coleman denied that, and said "if it is there, Angie's did it" without his knowledge. Mr. Coleman said that he likes to satisfy all customers, and that he has "never had a complaint" in 41 years. That is very difficult to believe. The bid was too expensive, and the free estimate and senior discount was not honored. Therefore my experience with Coleman Plumbing was not good. By the way, I had Matt LoPiccolo of Pristine Services come out next. Pristine Services did a good job for $225 plus a 5% Angie's discount off of that. And yes, Pristine Services advertises and provides free estimates.

We called the service provider and spoke with the owner-he sent someone out to check our problem later that same day. Jeff arrived when he said he would and evaluated the problem and made an appointment with us to come back out the next day and do the repair. Jeff provided us with a quote on the job before he left and we agreed to let him do the work. Saturday Jeff was running late but stayed in touch with us to let us know his status. Upon arrival, Jeff was courteous and professional and completed the work as promised. It is difficult to find vendors who do what they say they will as per the quote but we were very pleased with Coleman's plumbing.

Company came out, I wanted them to install a water heater. They assessed that we needed several other items done. They said they were things that needed to be done without question. Another plumber who I had previously had come out informed me that these were not things that needed to be done right away. Company came in and said that they wanted to do an additional $994 worth of work on top of the water heater. This company is untrustworthy.

Didn't want to interrupt their bigger clients' jobs with my scheduled smaller job. Wanted to reschedule me to later in the week. :-(

I recommend Coleman !!! The sewer line came apart in the area where it is supported above ground on pylons due to a tree that the county cut down crashing on the line. The estimates from other big name companies involved a back hoe on our neighbors yard, a release that said if they damaged the neighbors drive they don't fix it , new pipes, lots of men . Both estimates said the estimate was not final and would possibly be more money. Here is an idea of what we received least amount to largest amount: Zurn $3600.00 to start and could be more Andrews was 10 to 12 THOUSAND! Both estimates were open ended and said there was a possibility that they would need to excavate the entire line and replace it even though we could plainly see where the line had come apart. The camera also showed this. One company that didn't supply a final estimate wanted to install new pylon columns though there was nothing wrong with them. My husband is a GA TECH engineer and I'm pretty sure he would know if a pylon was not sound. Coleman showed us on the camera that the pipes were not broken. they had simply come apart in two places . He said the pipes were high quality that would last a lifetime.They didn't need to be replaced . This contradicted what we were told by Andrews and Zurn. Took Coleman 2 hours 45 minutes to repair using two people , a chain saw to cut away the tree and a shovel to excavate the line to make sure it a s the joint near the sever line was properly aligned after the repair,and putting down lime on the spill. They warranty their work. the other companies did not. Fulton county is satisfied with the repair. We are so happy to find an honest plumber with common sense!

I wanted to remodel two of the three bathrooms in the home we lived in and they did an excellent job. They answered all my questions, were on time, friendly, picked up parts that were needed. They finished both jobs in a timely manner. They were punctual, professional, and I will definitely use them again!

He was very prompt kept me well informed spoke to me about different options he could use to repair it higher cost plus a lower cost approach. Discussed the pluses and minuses of each one. Then let me decide. Kept me well informed on when he would be working and called if there was a weather delay. Very personable and finished the work for less than he quoted. Very impressed with his work and look forward to using him as the need arises. His business card states Quality-Integrity-Value and he delivers them all.

Overall, I thought they did a good job, but I just felt like the price was high for the amount of work that was done.
