Pricing was clear and fair. The build was completed in a single day, great prep work to protect the areas around the house. Nice and professional team, Rand Hilburn and Greg Bardin came to meet with the insurance adjuster and made everything easy to understand. Rand came personally to make sure the roof build went, made sure clean up was thorough, and made sure that it turned out great. Communication about rescheduling due to weather was timely, appreciated knowing what to expect and happy with the great results.

Very pleased with the overall customer service and outcome of our roof replacement with Roof It Forward. Our main point of contact, Rand Hilburn, was a tremendous help in walking us through the entire process. His communication and follow-up was top-notch and that coupled with his crew's one-day replacement means we're covered in a flash! Also helpful and knowledgeable during the process, was Greg Bardin, who along with Rand took the time to walk-through with us and the adjuster. The roof itself had storm damage and showed visible signs of wear. When you look at it now, looks like a whole new house. Again very pleased with Roof It Forward, Rand, and Greg! Thank you guys!

My roof replacement was seamless, as the roof was replaced in a flash. Bill Stanford easily walked me through the process and took care of the walk-through with our insurance adjuster. We have a large roof, but the crews came in and knocked it out in just over one day. I was worried about finding a ton of nails in the yard, but it was much less extensive than I could have hoped! Cleanup was great, and the workers were professional and friendly. Nathan Saulsberry also was helpful, as well, answering any questions I had. I'd work with them again in a heartbeat.

The ARAC sales person Mel convinced me a defect of the roof--high nail, which means the nails were not put in the right position of the shingle and therefore, the weight of the shingle could not be held by the nails properly and will fall over time under gravity. The new roof ARAC put on ended up having the same defect but to a more serious extent---the nails were not there! If the right number of nails needed to hold a shingle is 6, ARAC put on 3, 2, or 1. I have a professional inspector inspected the roof and a long list of other serious problems was found. ARAC failed to fix the problem after 2 attempts and 2 missed appointments. Moreover, the team head of the workers was rude and offensive when they were asked to come back, This team head apologized with Mel with the explanation being his righthand guy just died the night before of kidney failure at a young age. No contractors around Atlanta was willing to fix it and they said it is better to just replace it. I eventually found someone from New York to fix only the part that showed up in the inspection report. Please note that not all the problems could be found in a roof inspection after the roof is already installed. The following is the list of problems copied-pasted from the inspection report: The inspection report found the following problems with the roof a) Missing Nails. several nails missing in various locations. Some shingles were secured with just two nails, one on each end of the shingle. Many of the shingles were not nailed on the ends. This is in direct violation of the manufactures printed installation instructions. b) Nails above the “nail line”, in direct violation of manufactures instructions; c) Nails installed crooked; Many of the nails found in the shingles were observed to have been installed crooked, they penetrated the surface of the shingle and were improperly installed per the manufactures instructions. d) Shingle torn or damaged. One of the shingles on the back valley had been torn or damaged and then field repaired and not replaced. This is a damaged shingle and it is questionable it would be covered as a part of the manufacture warranty. e) The new roof is in conditions specified by the manufacturer’s warranty that would void the warranty. Namely, the roof is in such poor condition that it will not be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. f) Flashing and brick connection not properly secured. Flashings around the home at the roof and brick connection are currently secured and sealed in place utilizing just a caulking compound. This violates not only the Brick Institutes guidelines for proper brick and roof connections but also the American Roofing Institutes guidelines for proper brick and roof connections. g) Self adhered membrane missing. The plaintiff stated that there would be a self adhered membrane installed around every roof boot. It is nowhere to be found h) The plumbing roof boots on the back of the home were improperly installed. The shingles did not extend down over the side flanges of the boot past the roof cut out. Per manufacturers installation instructions for the plumbing boots states shingles should overlap the side flanges of the boot past the cut out in the roof sheathing, should be installed flush to roof deck and all exposed nail heads properly sealed. I ) Roof boots installed inappropriately. One of the roof boots was noted as having been installed with the back edge pushed down to catch the edge of the plumbing vent. Most jurisdictions in Georgia have this height listed to be a minimum of 12 inches above the roof surface to facilitate the installation of the boot. This should have been altered or corrected for proper application of the boot flange. Shingles cut so buckling did not show; j) Buckled chimney cap. The new chimney cap was noted as buckled and ponding water. This is supposed to be designed and installed to shed water and divert water over the edges of the chimney. This current condition the ponding water can develop a leak at the caulked joint around the flue or eventually deteriorate the metal and leak into the chimney chase, k) Improperly installed rain diverters and missing rain diverters If you are to hire ARAC, you need to keep in mind that in Georgia, there is a legal loophole that a contractor can put a 'mechanical lien' on your house without any reason. The judge can rule against statute in favor of any side she feels fit. Namely, legal combat is not worth it in many cases and many clients just swallow the loss and pay to save the trouble. I wish you do not need to face that choice.

Response from ARAC Roof it Forward - Georgia
This review is nothing more than an obvious attempt of defamation by this homeowner, after essentially trying to commit theft by taking. We adamantly deny the accusations set forth and addressed any and all legitimate concerns and issues. In fact, we obtained a judgment against this homeowner. He tried not to pay by leaving town and selling his home. We ultimately won the case and were able to secure payment from the closing proceeds. Again, this person is not being truthful, as evidenced by ARAC Roof It Forward's judgment through trial. We encourage anyone reading this review to do their research on our company. We think our reputation speaks for itself.

Team of about 10-12 showed up about 7 a.m. and immediately started laying out tarps and getting things set up to remove old roofing material. They all worked diligently all day with some of the crew on the roof getting old materials off and adding new materials while others stayed on the ground cleaning up the mess as they went along. Everyone worked hard for the entire day and had new roof installed and grounds completely cleaned before they left about 6.

AARAC Roof it Forward told me I needed a new roof and convinced me to file a claim with my insurance carrier. Their rep assured me he would be here for the entire process. When the insurance adjuster was at my house the AARAC rep was here for a little while but left. After the adjuster explained they would only pay for a partial repair I contacted AARAC for a quote to have my entire roof replaced. The rep said he would send me a quote, but when I didn't get it I called him again and he promised one the beginning of the next week. I never heard from him again. So I had another roofing company replace my roof. I guess AARAC didn't need or want my business.

This company was a nightmare to work with. I stupidly let them come into my house as they were canvassing the neighborhood. The roof and gutters were not installed on the date promised. The sales people had trouble communicating with the subcontracted workers because of a language barrier. When the job was finally finished - they added $1200 dollars to the job without talking to me or explaining what it was for. When I wouldn’t pay the new amount on the invoice - they put a lien on my house! Very shady. There were hundreds of screws and nails all over the lawn and garden. Management did not return phone calls. Stay away from this outfit

Very thorough initial inspection and project manager did a good job working with insurance company. Insurance paid for the roof as it had hail damage, and I paid to have gutters replaced. The pricing was very competitive. The roof and gutters were replaced in December 2016. On the first scheduled work day 12-14-16, the crew never showed up. I called the project manager and he said he was not able to get in touch with the crew leader. He said he would call me as soon as he finds something out. About 2 hours later, he called and said they were not able to work due to ice on the road where they were coming from. Understandable but there should have been some communication. I had taken the day off work and had the message gotten to me, I would have been able to go in. A few days later 12-20-16 , the crew showed up on the rescheduled day. While he crew was tearing down the old roof, before I noticed, they had started driving their truck around the perimeter of my house to throw the roofing debris into. They ran over two shrubs in my back yard (which the project manager later replaced to correct the issue.) They also ran over newly installed drainage pipes (which the project manager later dug up portions of to ensure was not damaged.) When the crew started putting the new roof on, I noticed they did not cut off and remove the old disconnected main electrical line coming into the roof. The project manger had told me it would be no problem for the roofers to saw it off then seal it up. I spoke to the crew leader who said they weren't told about it, so they didn't bring the necessary tools to remove it. After calling the project manager on the phone, he said there was nothing they could do since they didn't have the tools and the roofing had already begun. The worst area of the roof was around the chimney. There were multiple leaks around it and the wood was rotten. While watching the crew work around the chimney, I noticed they did not even replace the flashing. I called the project manager and he assured me they already replaced it. Later that afternoon, when the project manager came to inspect is when the crew corrected the flashing. The crew had used my carport to store their supplies and equipment in and failed to clean it out. They cleaned off the driveway but not the car port or perimeter of the house in the grass. Because of all of these issues, the project manager said he would upgrade my gutters to 6 inch for no additional fees which I accepted. The next day, the gutters were installed by one man. He said he was a subcontractor and didn't have enough business to afford a helper. His wife came occasionally throughout the two days it took to install gutters to help him. After the gutters were installed, I noticed there was not a downspout placed next to the front porch. The project manager had told me during planning stages that I needed one due to the length of the house. I agreed. I called the project manager after the install, and he said the gutter installer told him I didn't need it and that he did not include it in my final charge. I asked the installer and he told me the project manager told him not to install one but said he would if I gave him $20 cash. I paid him and gave him a little extra since he went through my yard cleaning up the mess the roofers had left the previous day. On 2/14/17, I noticed the new gutter guards were coming off the new gutters. I texted pictures to the project manager and he responded that they were supposed to be screwed in and would have someone come correct the issue. I did not hear back from anyone and followed up on 2/28/17. I received a return text on 3/1/17 that someone would screw the gutter guards in on 3/7/17. The person who came to screw the gutters said not a single one was screwed in and was a major safety hazard because they could easily fall off and hurt someone. I believe this person was another project manager was ARAC and not the usual one. In May 2018, I noticed some of the gutter guards were coming off again. When I went to the roof to take a look, I found 4 guards that were still not screwed in. I just screwed them in myself. In early March 2017, I noticed the ridge vents that were installed were starting to pop up leaving a gap large enough for water and pests to get into the attic. Instead of calling the project manager, I started calling ARAC main office hoping for quicker response time. On 3/14/17 I received a message from the project manager saying he would be out the next day to repair. He showed up on 3/15/17 and nailed the ridge vent back down and applied adhesive to keep it in place. In May 2017, the ridge vent popped back up. I called the main office and never heard from anyone for quite a while. Finally, on 5-27-17, a few guys rang my doorbell saying they were there to fix the roof. No one had contacted me so I was skeptical especially since the crew did not know what they were fixing or what company they were performing work for. The ARAC main office had no information on who the people were, so I texted the project manager. He texted back that he had sent them and apologized for not communicating it with me. The men performed the same repair as last time and nailed it back in place and added some adhesive. One of them told me he would discuss it with the roofing company because the ridge vent does not appear to have been installed correctly and I will continue to have the same problem. He said someone would be back in touch with me. On 6/5/17 the ridge vent popped back up and after not getting any follow up about the ridge vent, I called ARAC main office and asked to speak to someone other than my usual project manager since I keep having the same issue over and over. On 6/6/17, I received a call from someone the next level up. He said it would personally bring a crew to fix the issue and replace/reinstall the entire ridge vent if needed. He said in 1-2 weeks he would get back in touch to schedule. I did not hear from ARAC for a month, so on 7/3/17, I texted this new project manager. He responded that he would be by the next week and was behind due to rain. On 7/18/17 after still not hearing back, I called the ARAC main office and told the representative on the phone my situation. She said the notes in my file indicated someone performed the repair on 6/21/17. I told her no one came by and I am still having the same issue. She promised to escalate the issue and someone would call me by the end of the day. No one did, so I called the main office again the next day and was again told someone would reach out by the end of the day. I finally received a text back from the old project manager that someone would come out the next day. Finally on 7/20, someone came out and did the same repair again. In April 2018, after heavy rain, I noticed water coming up out of the ground by my crawlspace door where a downspout goes into a drainage pipe. I dug up the area and noticed the gutter installer did not actually put the downspout into the drainage pipe. He had just shoved the downspout into the ground and threw dirt around it. I reconnected it myself. On 8/5/18, a water spot appeared on my bathroom ceiling. I called ARAC 8/6/18 once in the morning and once in the afternoon to request warranty service. More rain is on the way so I wanted to get this repaired quickly. I never heard back, so I called again on the morning of 8/7/18. Later that day, I heard back from someone who said they would text me late that night and let me know when they could come repair. As of 8/10, I never heard back as promised, so I called the main office again. The representative said she'll have someone call me back. I went up to the roof and saw several nail pops and noticed the ridge vent is coming up again. I understand weather issues and personnel matters. Maybe ARAC is short-handed and that causes the delays in getting back to me in a reasonable amount of time, but since the start, there have been so many issues with workmanship. I think it is very reasonable to request that a higher up person comes to my house to meet with me and do a thorough inspection of the roof and gutters and does a quality repair to any remaining issues. My experience with ARAC doesn't match up with what I've heard and what I see online. I would like for them to make it right. I'm not overly picky, but the issues raised are legitimate quality issues that need to be addressed.

Steve Fivash and his roofing crew are excellent. We had had five estimates; Steve was one of just two of those five who climbed the roof for a close assessment; he was the only one who brought down photos to show us what he found. Steve has exceptional professional knowledge and skills. For example, he advised us on a new ventilation system that matched seamlessly with the original construction. He worked easily with our insurance company...we didn't have to get into that at all. His crew was always on time and the cleanup was impeccable. Steve's professional bearing inspired our confidence but he's so personable with a great smile and sense of humor that we really like him. We were so pleased with him and his work on our residence that we immediately asked him to re-roof our investment property. We're happy to recommend Steve Fivash and his Roof It Forward crew with complete confidence. Doug Pratt and Jo Hart Roswell, Georgia

The team came out on short notice when all roofing companies in the area were extremely busy after a major storm. They were honest about the minor damage and very professional. they really put my mind at ease that the damage was only cosmetic and could be repaired later.

WORDS CANT EXPRESS HOW GRATEFUL & PLEASED WE ARE WITH EVERY ASPECT OF OUR NEW ROOF, FROM BEGINNING TO END. WE GIVE WESLEY, & ROOF IT FORWARD, OUR HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!
Description of Work: Irma caused tree to crash on roof. Contacted many roof contractors. Most expressed dismay once learned my insurance company is Allstate, -- apparently Allstate is tough on "claims". Wesley from Roof It Forward showed up when the adjuster came, climbed on roof with adjuster & politely made sure that no damage was overlooked. Wesley showed sincere concern for our situation, working with the adjuster for the best outcome. He truly lifted the weight of the crisis off our shoulders. He did as promised, when promised, with beautiful results. Many neighbors contacted us to say what a great job the roofers did. Not only is the new roof an impressive upgrade to our home, but the roofers got the job done in about 5 hours. They cleaned up so well that the yard looked better when they completed the work than when they started!

We actually ended up having 5 contractors bid & what a difference between them! Steve was prompt in responding & came with another person who got onto the roof, cleaned off the leaves & was able to better discover the damages. (Note: If your roofing contractor does not get on the roof - pass on them!) Steve was easy to reach and his installers were excellent. It took them only 1 day start to finish. Best clean-up I'v ever seen with any contractor. My home looked better after they left than before!

Incredible. Casey Beaver 770-815-1128 came out and was touched by our story. He organized our community, his company, and his own resources to add a structure to the ENTIRE back of our house, not just our patio. His kindness has changed our lives. Three months later, the quality and professionalism still blows me away. And they even replaced the existing roof of our house so that it would match the new structure, for free. We never paid a penny for anything.
Description of Work: We asked for ideas and a bid to cover and roof our patio for our five year old who is fighting terminal brain cancer and can’t be exposed to uv rays.

Roof it Forward was recommended by our realtor for a home sale contingent on a new roof if the insurance company paid the claim. They agreed to abide by the insurance adjuster's estimate in the process. Once the adjuster approved the claim, they struck an unethical, third party deal with the home buyer for upgraded shingles without our knowledge or consent. They ignored our repeated requests to simply give us a contract that matched the insurance adjuster's estimate as they promised to do and were required to do by law because they wanted to get extra money from the buyer for upgraded shingles and a roof warranty. As the deadline was getting close we begged them to just give us a contract we could sign that matched the insurance company estimate. We said that we didn't want to do it, but if we had to we would find a roofer who would honor the estimate as they promised to do. In response to this they threatened us with a 25% penalty for breaking a deal they had already broken by their refusal to honor their own promise and Georgia law. We could have easily won that lawsuit but after so many sleepless nights caused by their unethical behavior we caved in and signed the deal that did not match what they originally promised. We are still considering legal action for intentional infliction of emotional distress given how clearly they exploited the urgency of our situation to make more money off the deal by getting the buyer to pay more. I attached one screenshot (I could have used several) to highlight that they simply refused to do the work as promised. You will see that I clearly asked for a basic roofing contract and his response is to refusing to remove the upgrade.

We only had one issue and they came back and fixed it right away. They were on time and performed the job well. It has been over a year and the roof still looks great.
