Sorrow's Stump Grinding

The work was done as promised in a timely manner. He gave a good quote. He was very reliable and dependable. It was quality work. I would absolutely use them again.

Did a thorough job of removing some shrubbery, a holly tree and all stumps.

Tommy was subcontracted by Advantage Tree Service to do the stump grinding of a pine tree that Advantage had removed. The pine tree in the front yard was fairly large and the root distribution in the yard was monstrous. I don't remember how much of the tree removal estimate was for stump grinding, but I had two other places in my backyard that Tommy took care of for a cost of $40 which I think is extremely reasonable. Tommy came out the same day that Advantage Tree Service took the tree down. He introduced himself and spoke with me about what he was going to do. He explained that he would work his way through all the roots and then the stump in hopes of not covering up anything that needed grinding with debris as he worked. As I said the root system was extensive. Tommy assured me that if I found anything after he was finished that he would come back and take care of it. At this time I asked him to look at a couple of other areas in my backyard that were old stumps that needed grinding. He assured me he would be able to take care of them. I appreciated the time he spent with me explaining so much about things I just didn't know. Tommy worked systematically and effeciently. He spent a lot of time grinding the pine tree roots and stump. He surpised me by using an axe to remove roots that were extremely close to my planter. I was told that the grinder would get within 6 inches or so of the planter and concrete and that would be it. Tommy removed many roots that I thought would be left. He then went into the back and ground an old Mimosa tree stump and a old huge oak tree stump and roots. He did such a wonderful job!!!7/16/2012 UPDATE: I did not contract with anyone to clean up the grind as it suited my plans to spread the grind myself and I did so. Recently after all our heavy rains and the grind settling even more I spotted a couple of roots. I called Tommy today, 7/16/12, left a message on his voice mail. He called me a few hours later and let me know that he had gone by my house, spotted the problem roots that had appeared and removed them. I was so suprised; this happened in a matter of hours. He asked me to check it out and let him know if I spot anything else. What a pleasure to do business with this guy!!!!
