Description of Work: Provider never responded to request for estimate to add soffit ventilation and replace perforated siding, submitted via BBB site.

Description of Work: Added on a screened-in back porch including foundation.

Description of Work: FOR the removal of old rotted siding ( house not old but Masonite siding the house was sided with was having problems with rot ) and total siding of my home.. After asking when they he would start the job , he told me in a few weeks and they were there in a few days ( I was unprepared with moval of necessary items ) Neighbors told me they mainly sat on cement bricks in my driveway ( I was atway at my daughters house as I didnt expect them .. ) . He was the highest bid but I was equating cost with quality ... wrong thing to do . Workers were extremely messy .. nails , sharp bits of aluminum and siding all over along with their debris from eating and smoking and chewing sunflower seeds. Work was not detail oriented or neat. Corners were sloppy and not lined up .. Same as windows and rest of trim area . where wood had to be replced , gaps were left . Basic vinyl siding installation "rules " werent even met especially in the front entrance /porch area where they let the seam or overlap apparrent instead of installing in a way where it wasnt as noticeable as one stood at entrance.. you could see where every piece of vinyl overlapped. They did go back and correct it after I pointed it out .( Installers doing a job But need I have to do that when dealing with "professional installers " ? They ended up taking a MONTH to side my home . I didnt even know that they were done the Friday they completed the job till I got a knock on my door bright and early that very next Saturday morning to collect the payment for job done. I didnt even have a chance to check the job out . I might add that I am a handicapped senior citizen ..female . I am use to be taken advantage of and ending up crying instead of getting the job done right . I had asked before the job started and at least 3 times more about the creation of a porch out back and an estimate .. I didnt want to have to undo anything that they were doing to have a porch put up . I needed to cover the small patio I had out back as my back door leaked . Also , thought I could eventually close the patio in and be able to allow my cat out there . All this was told repeatedly to contractor ..Mr Leverett and his crew. I never got an estimate .. and items left on the front porch rails because it was moved when they were installing were ruined by rain ( he told me that they wouldnt be there for a few weeks and I was not at home when they started .. Items were on a covered porch and out of rains reah when I left my home.. Items were soaked , books included when I returned home ) I called repeatedly after job done to have him come back out ... and they had installed a "patio cover " out back for me as I had had so many problems because of them .. For no charge.. BUT .. it wasnt what I wanted . Instead of a porch quote /estimate they went and put a patio cover with a flat roof and attached to my siding with only one leg for stability and that being right smack in front of the gate entrance to my back yard.. I could no longer even get my lawnmower into the backyard. I didnt want these boys to be Einsteins.. but does one have to be a rocket scientist to know not to block a gate with the one and only support pole for the patio cover . He recognized that I had been sorely treated and was trying to even it up by putting this patio cover over my patio for no charge . BUT now I will have holes in the siding if I remove it .. It is NOT what I wanted. I cant believe that they would do something like this without consulting the home owner .. regardless of the no charge. I rather they NOT have put it over as there is no way to enclose ( it consists of a flat piece of roofing attached to my house and supported by that one pole . His wife was very angry with me and would not allow me to talk to him.. I wrote a letter to them in Nov and she told me that they had just recd it in Feb of the following year. Hmmmm. I heard every excuse to tooth abcesses to back surgery ( My L never worked the job .. three young guys did ) to them being family and needing work to how I had insulted their intelligence. I truly was at my wits end .. I would go to bed wondering how I could get them to fix the problems they had made me and wake up with it on my mind. It didnt help that my neighbors had witnessed all of this and wondered why I was not doing anything about it . Its dollars and get it done and out of there today .. No more pride in workmanship .. No one caring enough to follow through with thei customers. An expensive , shoddy job ... no telling how bad they left it under the new siding as the reason I had the siding replaced was because I had Masonite siding and even before the house was 5 yrs old you could stick your finger through the siding in paces.. So the old siding was to but tore out and replaced with new wood .. One cant see whether or not anything was replaced as the new vinyl siding covers it.. and since I wasnt home when they started the job.. who knows what they actually did .. I can only hope that they something that I asked ... Can you tell that this was a horrible horrible experience.. One that , unfortunately soured me to all contractors and folks that dont care about doing the best job that they can .. If I cleaned toilets for a living I would make sure that I did the best job I could do and be proud ... I work for more than just a paycheck . Apparently , not all people do . Thank you for giving me place to vent ... and to allow me to steer those not really sure of what they are doing away from contractors such as these.. I just wanted to give the business and work to local folks and businesses. Unfortunately , the big box stores at least have better customer service and standards .
