POWERHOUSE OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT

Our regular yard man was unreliable, and I needed to have the yard looking nice for when my husband arrived from Afghanistan. After calling around, Steve, the owner, and staff spent 13 hours getting the front and backyard in order. When I asked to hire them for the future, Steve told me that they usually don't to yard work, just repairs on outdoor equipment. He did this on the side, to help me out. After that, he offered to clean our RV, which turned out really nice. They also made the appropriate repairs on it so we could take it in the road that Summer. I've been back to repair my pressure washer, with no issues. All around good place to go.

Dropped off our lawn mower with Powerhouse during April (of course, busy mowing season)replace a fan belt and fave it serviced since it was running very rough, and we had already checked the plug and fuel filter. Asked to have the blades sharpened as well. Dropped it off Monday evening being sure to tell them about the belt snapping so they could order the part. They told us they would have it back to us in 3-4 days. We didn't hear anything from them, so we called on Friday to inquire. They told us they had just looked at it today and had ordered the belt, so it would be in next week. Okay. We told them the belt snapped on Monday when we dropped it off - they could have ordered it then. So we call again on Tuesday, part's not in yet. We gave up at that point and finally got a call on Friday - nearly 2 weeks after we dropped it off (at the same time informing us of the 3-4 day turn around). No calls from them for updates - no apologies. We pick it up for a whopping $75 in labor for 45 minutes of work. Also find out the blades haven't been sharpened like we asked. The guy at the front asked us if we wanted to leave it with them and they would sharpen them later. No thanks. Overall, unprofessional service at Powerhouse. An update or phone call would have been nice - just common courtesy for a business. Lesson learned.

When I called to ask this company to perform lawnmower repair services (included, general service, new tire and pick-up and delivery) I got a quote of $120-$150 for all of the services. I thought this was pretty reasonable. I had scheduled the pick-up for a Tuesday and return on Thursday. I had to call on Wednesday morning and remind them to pick up the mower, they wanted to delay the delivery until Friday, but I insisted they return it to me on the original day agreed to. I received a call from them explaining what the bill was and they told me that it was $220. They told me it was becuase they only quoted me for the general service (oil, lube etc.) not the tire, pick-up and delivery etc. After two days I was tired of arguing with them and paid the amount, but I told them that they should not expect any positive referals from me.
