Irvin Painting & Pressure Cleaning

My husband and I bought a house from a woman in town who had used it as a rental property. The tenant had done some really ghastly painting in several of the rooms, and we asked that the interior be painted as one of the terms of sale. She agreed to have that and other work done to the house, not to exceed $3,000.00. It took a three or four man crew over a week to paint the interior of the house and install a chimney cap on the leaky chimney. The chimney still leaks, and the cap looks like nothing more than tin foil caulked around the top. It has the appearance of being able to blow off in high winds. This I can forgive, because this is not their area of specialty, and I blame the contracting of that work to them on the former owner. The painting is a different story. They used a paint sprayer, and did not bother to tape anything up. Not only were the windows painted shut, the glass was literally covered in paint. The carpet had to be torn out, as it was also covered in paint (and they had laid down drop cloths). On the built-in shelves, dust, bugs, and even pennies were painted over. There was a great deal of hair painted into the walls. In the bathroom, evidence of the tenant's terrible taste in style and color is still visible where painting simply wasn't completed. They removed the outlet and switch covers, then never re-installed them. No difference was made in the type of paint used on the trim and the walls.
