If you don't care what happens to your property, go ahead and take a chance. As for me, the next time I need a vacuum repair, I will go to Sears or drive to Tallahassee. This kind of "customer service" is shameful.
Description of Work: Taking a vacuum to Discount Repair is a huge mistake. The original owner, Jim Rooney, was all right, but since it has been taken over by his son, the quality of customer service is sub-par to say the least. I brought Mr. Rooney a six-month old Dyson in November 2010 for repair and he did not have the parts. I checked in December and again in February and he said he was still waiting for parts. Assuring me he would call, he did not tell me he was going to retire. In the summer, I went in to find his son had taken over. He told me that he would look into it and call me. No call came. On October 25, I went in and asked again. After taking his time ignoring me while talking on the phone with someone about personal matters (practically laying on the counter) for about 7 minutes, he finally got off. He informed me that he asked his dad about it and his dad told him he could not get the parts. "So I disregarded the vacuum." When I asked him what "disregard" meant, he informed me that it meant that he threw it away. HE THREW AWAY MY $500 VACUUM CLEANER WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A PHONE CALL! I was very upset and asked how he could do such a thing! He informed me that it was up to me to pick it up and items left longer than 30 days would be thrown out! After all of his father's assurances that he would call me when the machine was ready, this was unbelievable. He insisted that he tried to call me, but I have a phone machine that is always on and I received no messages and I am near a phone most of the time and received no calls. When I told him this, he replied, "I can't spend all my time tryin' to call customers."

When I went to pick it up, I was told the total bill was $46.00. When I asked what he did to it, her replied, "I serviced it." When I asked what was wrong, he replied, "It was clogged." $46 to unclog a vacuum cleaner? This customer won't be back.
Description of Work: I took the vacuum cleaner to Discount Vacuums because it had stopped running. I was told that a $20 deposit was required and that it would be applied to the final bill.. I gave him my contact phone numbers. Ten days later I had heard nothing, and when I called he asked for my name so he could locate the machine. When he returned, he said "I'm working on it now. It should be ready by lunch time."
