Despite our inability to use Fred, we are aware of the fact that several other neighbors have used him and received great service. Fred is absolutely old school, detailed, and places a mathematicians eye for detail on every project he does. He knows his stuff, and I surely hope to work with him again in the future.

They worked with my insurance co. to adjust the cost of the repairs, and provided highly skilled workers to do the job. The owner was there the day most of the work was done, making sure everything was going well, and even did much of the work himself. They went above and beyond, even special ordering a new patio door from California, so that it matched my other existing patio door. They cleaned up everything and left it better than before. Communication was great throughout the process, and they were very understanding when I had to jump through several hoops with the insurance company and mortgage company to get the funds in my hand. So i you need a major repair, renovation or even building a new house, I would call Summers and Sons for a quote!

Fred Summer spent a LOT of time on the phone with me, explaining details on what goes into a room addition and providing me with pictures of his work and also outside resources where we coudl research pricing on the type of addition that we wanted. He gave me ball park figures of what our addition would cost and though more than we had anticipated he was able to back up his estimate with details and specifics. He was REALLY helpful. We plan to keep saving our money for the room addition and would definitely call him back when we are ready. Even knowing that, he offered to come out to do more concrete plans for us for the future. He was so GREAT!

We've had trouble with our carport ceiling mildewing over the last 10 years or so. The carport design seems to contain the humid air in Atlanta and not let it circulate as it should. We contracted with Summers and Sons to replace the mildewed ceiling with a PVC type material. This was a relatively expensive product, but we wanted something that we could pressure wash, if necessary, in the future if mildew should return. The material does not make noise as does vinyl when temperatures change, and has the appearance of wood, and is rated for use in wet environments. It's exactly what we wanted, looks great, and we can use our carport now for outdoor picnics, etc., if we choose to. Fred and Jeff Summers worked with us to find a product that would fit our requirements for the space we wanted to renovate. It looks great. They also repaired our porch ceiling and repainted it. Summers and Sons employees are polite, professional, courteous. They arrive on time and continually let me know how the job is progressing and of any unexpected developments. Jeff Summers supervises the workers on a very regular basis. Everyone involved communicates well.

We could not be happier with the responsiveness of the team or the quality of the job. If you're in a hurry, don't hire these guys. They take their time, it's serious craftsmanship, and nothing is rushed. We've had a couple of delays and a couple of snafus here and there, but they have come very close to the original schedule. Our kitchen is going to be magnificent once the counters are installed in a couple of weeks. Be aware that the crew is small (until the subs come in) and detail-oriented. If it's not right, they fix it. Jeff is easy to deal with on the job. It's been a pleasure working with this team.

I called Jeff Summers who transferred me by phone to Fred Summers. Fred came out, measured for the cabinets I wanted, and told me he would get back to me with a quote. I never received that quote. Does it take more than 12 days to get a quote?

He was really nice and very conscientious.

They were very responsive and gave a very detailed and thorough quote. The quote was free. They were a little more expensive than I could afford. I would consider using them again in the future.

Jeff Summers visited every day someone was there working and supervised. He had Carter return touch up the color. Then he came back after the job was done to help me lift some heavy planters back onto the surface.

The neighborhood board has put a hold on the project for just now - but we have a much better idea of what we'll be dealing with when the project moves forward, thanks to the gracious and generous consults we were given.

We had two on site meetings before work began. The price was about $12,000 lower than the other two bids I got. Did a good job overall, but did not pay as much attention to details as I would have liked. They were very easy to work with and always very professional.

The company's workers came in, looked at the work to be done, made a few suggestions to further stabilize the older building, and did the required work. They extended the job to two days so that the concrete could "set up" well before drilling necessary holes in it. They also pointed out to me that the building was sliding a bit out of plumb, and made some suggestions as to how to stabilize the building to preserve it for a while longer. The men were thorough in doing the job, cleaned up well after they were done, and were very personable and pleasant to work with.

It was as great an experience as a kitchen renovation can be! Summers and Sons is a small, locally owned company. All of their men were friendly, trustworthy and reliable - as were the men on the sub crews. Most of the work was done without an owner around and we had no problems whatsoever. They did find a couple of problematic items in our home during the job which they pointed out to us (for instance, we had an inappropriate vent on one bathroom) and left it up to us whether we wanted them to fix the item or not. Communications were excellent throughout. They told us what would be happening, when there would be "down time", worked with us to revise and resolve a couple of issues that came up during the job, and pretty well stuck to the time line that they'd estimated before the job began. I'd certainly hire them again for another renovation job without any reservation.
