Sudlow Concrete

Sudlow only has one person that does stamped concrete and he doesn't really seem to care about the quality of his work. My porch is full of crusting cracks. They also embedded one of my wood steps in concrete. When they came to fix it, they did a really poor patch job. I would hire someone else.

Like a well-oiled machine. We had our driveway substantially widened and flared into three different increasing widths - - not your standard rectangular job. Executed to perfection. These guys came in and did the whole thing in a day, and you won’t find a better looking result anywhere in Atlanta - - just beautiful. It was almost like watching a choreographed dance, the way each team member worked and how the whole process flowed. Got the whole thing done and left by 2 PM. Amazing! Nice guys to boot, and the cost was the low bid across three contractors. Can you say “Super Satisfied?” You bet.

Bill and his Crew at Sudlow Concrete are awesome! Very Professional. Had the free estimate and new driveway job completed in just a couple of weeks. Very knowledgeable crew as well. No standing around for these guys. I have people already stopping by my house asking was I about to put my property on the market from it enhancing my curb appeal so much. I will definitely call Sudlow Concrete for any other Concrete jobs I need completed in the future.

Our experience with Sudlow Concrete from my first call to Kristi in setting an appointment with Aaron to assess/quote the job to the final follow-up from Bill Sudlow making sure that we were satisfied was excellent! We received other quotes and Aaron was the most thorough where he pointed out areas of our old driveway that were too low and not providing proper drainage. With the appropriate grading and leveling by their expert crew, we no longer have these issues and rainwater now runs off properly. Now as far as the crew, the job started exactly when it was scheduled for with their experienced crew arriving promptly all 3 days and working into the early evening. You could tell immediately that this crew was talented and worked well together, and they were never idle. We have lots of trees that hang over portions of our driveway and our job was done during peak foliage, so I was concerned that all the shedding leaves and acorns would be a problem. They had a crew member constantly blowing the newly fallen leaves away while others were smoothing and brushing the new surface so we maintained a clean fresh finish. Once the job was completed, their owner Bill Sudlow followed up with me immediately making sure that everything met with our approval. We highly recommend Sudlow Concrete!

Very well. The estimate was the lowest of three by a substantial margin. The supervisor used his crew’s time well. Day one driveway was removed. Day two concrete was poured. A lot of detailed effort was taken to ensure wires for lighting etc were preserved. Crew was outstanding. End result is very nice. While they are a call away if anything needed, no corrections anticipated. Great job.

Bill and his crew arrived on time to start the demolition and frame work on day one, day two was concrete pouring and continued framing. Very impressed with the crews job knowledge and the patience to fully answer any and all concerns we had. The price was very reasonable and competitive as well and I would defiantly recommend Sudlow Concrete for any type of concrete driveway work.

My wife and I hired Sudlow Concrete to replace our driveway less than a year ago and they did a wonderful job. We recently hired them again to come back to our home to do an add on to the driveway. Sudlow Concrete once again made our home more beautiful than before. Our home is the talk of the neighborhood. We can't express enough praise on his employee`s proper care, workmanship and cleanup to our home. Sudlow Concrete is a BIG joke! They showed up unexpectedly about 4 hours prior to our appointment time and did an estimate. We agreed to the work and a price. Kristi sent me an estimate the following Monday. She got the project dimensions wrong and had to amend the proposal twice to correct mistakes or missed work specifics. I was going to send her the signed estimate but I had a couple of questions I wanted clarification on about termite holes and a clause in one of their sections about them not being responsible for damage or cracks to existing concrete, stone or brick within 24" of the work area. Since they were going to replace a sinking slab of driveway concrete that was right up against my garage apron and part of the brick house exterior, I wanted to know what happens if they damage the brick on the house. She said she would talk to the owner and get back with me tomorrow. I never heard from her again although I left several messages to call me back. The next Monday I went ahead and signed the agreement anyway and sent it back to them and asked them to call me to schedule a start date. I left more messages that were not returned. A week later I got a hold of the owner Bill Sudlow and asked when they were going to come out. He told me that he was not going to be able to do the work. When I asked him why, he would not give me a specific answer other than I was too difficult to work with. Are you freaking kidding me?? I told him that I already signed and returned the estimate that they sent me even though my questions were never responded to. He reiterated that they would not do the work we agreed upon. Maybe that's for the best. With this kind of attitude, I highly doubt they would do a decent job anyway. But they could have notified me sooner instead of making me wait weeks. It's possible they thought my job was too small for them but I thought we had an agreement. Regardless, this company has no integrity and is unlikely to honor any warranty for work done by them if it comes to that!!! Later they responded to my complaint by saying that I tried to further negotiate the price while making a multitude of other contract requests. These are all lies coming from a dishonest and incompetent company whose owner is pretty condescending and doesn't like to deal with customers who ask legitimate questions before signing their contract. So Buyer Beware... you have been warned!!!

It is always refreshing and rewarding to select a company that not only meets your expectations but exceeds them as well. This was exactly my experience with Sudlow Concrete and the concrete services they provided at my home. Please allow me to share my experience in detail. I called to schedule an appointment for someone to come and give me an estimate. They had no idea that I grew up in the concrete business in Tennessee in which my father started 60 years ago. The work demand was just too high for my brother, now the owner, to bring the crew 5 hours away. I was quite impressed with Aaron from Sudlow Concrete when he came to my home 'on time' for the estimate. A very knowledgeable, non-pressure type of experience with Aaron. After my meeting with him, as well as the positive reviews I had read, I knew I would be doing business Sudlow Concrete. Yesterday, one of the crews from Sudlow Concrete showed up at my home (7:30 a.m). I spoke with the crew foreman (Alex) and within 5 minutes the men began working. Every person had a role and took it seriously. I've seen a lot of work with a Bobcat but never have I seen someone work it as well as Alex. They had the driveway and sidewalk up in very little time. He worked the Bobcat just as easy as I can lift food with a fork. Neighbors were stopping by and commenting just as much on their teamwork as well as the masterpiece they delivered. Aaron stopped by to check on their progress. I had a couple of changes and he said no problem. Concrete is a skill that everyone cannot do. I was also very impressed with their cleanup. These guys worked extremely hard all day with a positive attitude. I had no problem providing lunch and keeping a cooler of cold drinks available (not required, but something I gladly provided). The next morning, guys were here early not only taking off the forms, but also washing down (with a brush) my driveway because of some mud from the rain. To say I'm impressed with the work from Sudlow Concrete is an understatement. Again, I grew up in the business and know great work when I see it. I thank God for giving me the decision-making skills to select this company for the demo work, prep work, driveway and sidewalks.

The men were here on time. Very cordial men to work with. They did what I wanted done. The work was great they tried to do the best job they could do. They came a 8:00 am and left at 4:00 with job finished with my approval. I will recommend Sudlow Concrete to my friends. The price was very good better than other quotes. Sudlow was recommended by my neighbor. Thanks for a great job.

Sudlow Concrete listened carefully to my project concerns and provided a timely, professional and competitively price resolution for the repairs to my driveway and sidewalk that were damaged by River Burch tree roots. Everyone I spoke to or who worked on the job site was top notch, start to finish. Excellent job. I could not have asked for a more professional job. The workers were excellent and the job was done right. The price was also right. There was no sacrificing quality here with a fair price for the job. I would, with out hesitation, use this company again if I was in futher need of their services.

REVIEW OF SUDLOW CONCRETE - ATLANTA, GA January 9, 2021 I hired Sudlow Concrete to remove my old driveway, pour a new driveway and install a stone apron at the street and replace the stone on my front porch. The driveway was poured on November 2, 2020 - 2-1/2 months ago. I have the following complaints: -The reckless, unfriendly workers tore up my irrigation system in several places. One of these was unavoidable. The others were pure arrogance and carelessness. They didn't mention it or flag the broken ends so they could be easily located and repaired later. I had to pay $450 for the repairs. -With a large concrete saw, one of the workers needlessly butchered a large bank of 20-year-old azaleas, which would have been easy to tie back or work around. -We wanted a driveway with a light brown color-tint, not bright gray. When I met the co-owner/salesman we discussed this and told him we wanted it to match one of the light brown stones on the front of our house. We selected a color called "Pebble" from the chart they provided. We paid $2300 for this, but the color is nothing like the "Pebble" color we selected. The concrete is gleaming gray - exactly what we did not want. -When I first met the co-owner/salesman, I told him specifically what type of stone, color and pattern I wanted for the apron and porch and I showed him a photo for him to match. Sudlow directed us to a stone yard who said they did not have that stone. I contacted the Sudlow co-owner and the rep in their office, and asked them to help me find what I wanted and what I understood was specifically included. Meanwhile the driveway was poured, with the recess at the entrance for the stone apron, leaving it impassable. Sudlow collected the check for the total job, less $3300 credit they offered for the incomplete stone work, which was in limbo. I called the co-owner and office rep again to ask for direction on how to get the stone work done, and neither called me back. After leaving several messages for the owner and at the office and having no response, it was clear that they had decided to dump me, leave me with an unfinished job and an impassable driveway and move on to the next job. When I contacted other stone masons I found that the job would cost far more than the $3300 I was credited. Since it was urgent to get the stone apron completed in order to enter my driveway, I had to pay much more to get another stone contractor who did a mediocre job. Clearly Sudlow was happy to take a large profit on the stone work without even doing it. Sudlow promises in their contract that the concrete will be 4-5" thick and 4000 psi. But if you dig up the edge at almost any place, it is 3-3/12" thick. After we wrote a negative review on their site we were contacted by a Trust Dale rep who has attempted to mediate this situation and keep me placated. And the owner came out and promised to make things right. The office rep called on December 21 to say that they would get back to us after the holidays but I have heard nothing from them. Now, 2-1/2 months after the driveway was poured, Sudlow has done nothing to make this right. They had a concrete stain subcontractor come out to discuss the color problem. He promised to get back to me mid-January. We'll see. I promise I have been pleasant and reasonable throughout this whole process. But we paid Sudlow $15,900 and we don't appreciate the way we have been treated, especially not returning our calls and leaving us with an impassible driveway. And we are unhappy with our the color and thickness of our driveway, our recklessly damaged irrigation system and our butchered azaleas. Sudlow Concrete’s incorrectly installed driveway has altered the flow of the street drainage, resulting in a large area of water and ice across the street, even days after rain. A safety hazard has been created as a result, for drivers and pedestrians as there are no sidewalks. There is permanent standing water by my mailbox, which can turn to ice, even days after rain, creating a safety hazard. My wife has already slipped on the ice. The owner of the company called me five minutes after work was completed, urging for me to immediately pay and write reviews, but he has never bothered to call me or return calls when I reported problems. I am expected to wait weeks just for somebody to look at it. The co-owner of the company made it clear that he did not care that there were problems with the driveway and blamed “the weather” and “the street” for the problems created by Sudlow Concrete. I have received the worst possible customer service imaginable and have witnessed a total disregard for public safety.

I am very impressed with the quality of the work and incredible customer service. Finally, someone that provides honest work at an honest price.

We had damage to our driveway apron as a result of a county water break and needed to find a vendor. We contacted Sudlow Concrete upon a neighbor's referral and once connecting with their office, we had a very professional experience from the day Mr. Sudlow first came to our house for an estimate. He efficiently provided a thorough and detailed estimate and when we were ready to proceed, Sudlow's schedulers and installation teams were equally efficient as well. The team completed their work without incident and we have a smooth driveway repair. We are very pleased with our repair and would definitely contact them again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!! I had the horrible experience of hiring Sudlow Concrete for redoing part of my driveway. job cost = 4300 while doing the job, crew badly damaged by garage door as you can see in the picture and decided to continue working without informing me. I got a call from their office stating we have been informed by the crew there was a damage and we will work with you to get it fixed. (my biggest mistake, I took their words) As soon as the work finished - they wanted me to pay all the money and leave 1k. I decided to pay 2k (yet again my mistake). After that started the endless excuses to avoid taking responsibility and pay for the damage they caused my property !!!!! First asked me to get multiple quotes They also send their own provider for quotes all these activities wasted almost a month while I deal with an unhappy HOA and a broken garage. Now the front office stopped responding to emails after getting the quotes from me. I am sure, one can interpret the HORRIBLE experience and FRUSTRATION we had to go through dealing with them. I will approach both better business bureau as well as claims court but for now, i would have to spend 3600 to get the garage door repaired. if you prefer the peace of mind and responsible company - AVOID THEM AT ALL COST !!!

The team was on time, professional and my driveway looks amazing

Their contract is thorough, including descriptions of work to be done. The guys worked hard and fast. Everyone at the company was nice. The end product looks good overall. We asked for the bottom to be expanded over a little strip of grass next to the mailbox. They did a good job with that. There was a cable crossing the driveway at the surface and they buried that without breaking it. They cut seamlessly around a brick step we wanted to keep. They made a curb for cars and it looks good. But I don’t like how they failed with many details. They cut into the asphalt street wider than the concrete gutter already there. It wasn’t explained to me until I asked afterward that they have to do that sometimes because concrete trucks can damage the asphalt and gutter. I wish they would have told me ahead of time. Also, their cut here wasn’t straight across, probably because the truck tires damaged one side more than the other. I think it would have looked better if they cut straight across. The top of my driveway ends at a steep hill. They had to pour dirt there to support extra concrete. Imagine a dirt pile with one half under the driveway. The problem is the other half covers many square feet of my plants. When they saw this would be needed, I wish they would have told me so I could know ahead of time. A spot of about two square feet in the middle puddles with water. Water gathers in a couple of control joints. They didn’t tell me to water the driveway twice a day for a few days, which is helpful, especially during hot weather. I asked about it. Only then did they say yes. Concrete splashed and dried on the house, steps, and mailbox. They didn’t clean it off. They broke a garden statue and didn’t tell us. They know they broke it because they picked up the pieces and put them in a bird bath. Neither the statue nor the bird bath were near the driveway. They left little pieces of concrete in the yard instead of cleaning them up. It was two buckets full when I picked them up. This is a hazard when mowing. Wood forms were left on some parts. When I asked later, I was told the workers couldn’t remove them because they couldn’t walk on the new concrete to get to them. They could have simply walked around the house to the other side or come back 24 hours later. When I e-mailed my complaints on a Sunday, I received a call almost right away. And first thing Monday morning, a guy was out to work on items I requested (remove the wood forms and clean concrete off the step, the house, and the mailbox). He did a good job except, again, for details. He didn’t get the bottom of the step and mailbox. I saw the finished product for the first time at the end of the day when it was raining. So I couldn’t see it all or details. Their representative asked me for a review grade. I gave one saying it was based on this first impression. They sent me a review form. It gave instructions on how to submit to Google, Angie’s List, and the Better Business Bureau.

Took 6 weeks to set up appt for the estimate. The estimator was late to the appt. The estimator did not provide solution options. The estimate was not itemized. F/U questions on the estimate were not responded too.

Would not recommend them. Job quality is poor. Two years into the replacement, have cracks in the concrete. At the time of work, told them they need to level the driveway and put rebars. They hesitated and never put gravel or level the soil. They put rebars but never tied them. Two years into the job, the concrete has cracks right by the front door porch. Warranty would not cover until it’s really ugly, supposedly 3/8th inches for them to address it if that happens within five years. JOb was at the most poor. Their workers are not professionals.

First rate company. They quoted a fair price and the work was done in a timely and thoroughly professional way. There was a small amount of damage to my carport ceiling which they promptly repaired. I could not be happier with the work and I would not hesitate to recommend Sudlow to anyone who needs any concrete work.

Sudlow Concrete was awesome! We have one very large driveway and another smaller one. They removed them quickly but carefully (one was right up to the house) and prepped and replaced them better than I had hoped for, and I'm pretty Picky. The price was reasonable, and the workers were courteous,conscientious, and very capable.
