Sudlow Concrete

We had damage to our driveway apron as a result of a county water break and needed to find a vendor. We contacted Sudlow Concrete upon a neighbor's referral and once connecting with their office, we had a very professional experience from the day Mr. Sudlow first came to our house for an estimate. He efficiently provided a thorough and detailed estimate and when we were ready to proceed, Sudlow's schedulers and installation teams were equally efficient as well. The team completed their work without incident and we have a smooth driveway repair. We are very pleased with our repair and would definitely contact them again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!! I had the horrible experience of hiring Sudlow Concrete for redoing part of my driveway. job cost = 4300 while doing the job, crew badly damaged by garage door as you can see in the picture and decided to continue working without informing me. I got a call from their office stating we have been informed by the crew there was a damage and we will work with you to get it fixed. (my biggest mistake, I took their words) As soon as the work finished - they wanted me to pay all the money and leave 1k. I decided to pay 2k (yet again my mistake). After that started the endless excuses to avoid taking responsibility and pay for the damage they caused my property !!!!! First asked me to get multiple quotes They also send their own provider for quotes all these activities wasted almost a month while I deal with an unhappy HOA and a broken garage. Now the front office stopped responding to emails after getting the quotes from me. I am sure, one can interpret the HORRIBLE experience and FRUSTRATION we had to go through dealing with them. I will approach both better business bureau as well as claims court but for now, i would have to spend 3600 to get the garage door repaired. if you prefer the peace of mind and responsible company - AVOID THEM AT ALL COST !!!

The team was on time, professional and my driveway looks amazing

Their contract is thorough, including descriptions of work to be done. The guys worked hard and fast. Everyone at the company was nice. The end product looks good overall. We asked for the bottom to be expanded over a little strip of grass next to the mailbox. They did a good job with that. There was a cable crossing the driveway at the surface and they buried that without breaking it. They cut seamlessly around a brick step we wanted to keep. They made a curb for cars and it looks good. But I don’t like how they failed with many details. They cut into the asphalt street wider than the concrete gutter already there. It wasn’t explained to me until I asked afterward that they have to do that sometimes because concrete trucks can damage the asphalt and gutter. I wish they would have told me ahead of time. Also, their cut here wasn’t straight across, probably because the truck tires damaged one side more than the other. I think it would have looked better if they cut straight across. The top of my driveway ends at a steep hill. They had to pour dirt there to support extra concrete. Imagine a dirt pile with one half under the driveway. The problem is the other half covers many square feet of my plants. When they saw this would be needed, I wish they would have told me so I could know ahead of time. A spot of about two square feet in the middle puddles with water. Water gathers in a couple of control joints. They didn’t tell me to water the driveway twice a day for a few days, which is helpful, especially during hot weather. I asked about it. Only then did they say yes. Concrete splashed and dried on the house, steps, and mailbox. They didn’t clean it off. They broke a garden statue and didn’t tell us. They know they broke it because they picked up the pieces and put them in a bird bath. Neither the statue nor the bird bath were near the driveway. They left little pieces of concrete in the yard instead of cleaning them up. It was two buckets full when I picked them up. This is a hazard when mowing. Wood forms were left on some parts. When I asked later, I was told the workers couldn’t remove them because they couldn’t walk on the new concrete to get to them. They could have simply walked around the house to the other side or come back 24 hours later. When I e-mailed my complaints on a Sunday, I received a call almost right away. And first thing Monday morning, a guy was out to work on items I requested (remove the wood forms and clean concrete off the step, the house, and the mailbox). He did a good job except, again, for details. He didn’t get the bottom of the step and mailbox. I saw the finished product for the first time at the end of the day when it was raining. So I couldn’t see it all or details. Their representative asked me for a review grade. I gave one saying it was based on this first impression. They sent me a review form. It gave instructions on how to submit to Google, Angie’s List, and the Better Business Bureau.

Took 6 weeks to set up appt for the estimate. The estimator was late to the appt. The estimator did not provide solution options. The estimate was not itemized. F/U questions on the estimate were not responded too.

Would not recommend them. Job quality is poor. Two years into the replacement, have cracks in the concrete. At the time of work, told them they need to level the driveway and put rebars. They hesitated and never put gravel or level the soil. They put rebars but never tied them. Two years into the job, the concrete has cracks right by the front door porch. Warranty would not cover until it’s really ugly, supposedly 3/8th inches for them to address it if that happens within five years. JOb was at the most poor. Their workers are not professionals.

First rate company. They quoted a fair price and the work was done in a timely and thoroughly professional way. There was a small amount of damage to my carport ceiling which they promptly repaired. I could not be happier with the work and I would not hesitate to recommend Sudlow to anyone who needs any concrete work.

Sudlow Concrete was awesome! We have one very large driveway and another smaller one. They removed them quickly but carefully (one was right up to the house) and prepped and replaced them better than I had hoped for, and I'm pretty Picky. The price was reasonable, and the workers were courteous,conscientious, and very capable.

Sudlow Concrete was the right choice for us. We have lived in this house since the 90's and have had many contractors doing various things in the past with a huge range in terms of quality of work and professionalism. I am so impressed with Bill & his Sudlow Concrete crews. Bill's price was reasonable and when we added an additional wall that had not been part of the original quote, the price was reasonable too. Our home is over 100 years old and the driveway was at least 50 years old. Our long narrow driveway runs between two closely spaced houses, and touches the basement wall along the length of one side, making the possibility of water problems, and /or damage to either house a real possibility. The driveway needed replacement when my son was born, and he is entering college so it was long past due. The job involved removing and replacing the 50 year old crumbling driveway, carefully removing the remains of the retaining wall holding up the driveway, that was steadily falling into my neighbors living room, and putting in a safe modern replacement, as well as, removing and shifting and replacing, a second retaining wall to make our driveway wide enough to use without danger of scraping our cars every time we entered or exited. Finally this had to be done on a lot too small to fit a dump truck, concrete truck or dumpster. Oh yeah, the driveway was too narrow to allow a concrete truck to enter too. Aaron who did the original quote was so professional that I quickly decided to go with Sudlow, even though I had a lower quote (and a much higher one.) Kristi in the office was quick to follow up with scheduling the job. Due to the close quarters nature of the demo work She suggested that we delay the job by a week to allow her to schedule their most experienced crew job to do the demo the asphalt and retaining walls and install the new concrete the driveway. As scheduled about 4 weeks out, the crew arrived, on time, at 7:00 am ready to work. In an amazing display of highly skilled Bobcat ballet the old driveway was gone and hauled off in dump trucks by 10:30 am. Concrete arrived by 11:00. Using powered buggies to run concrete the crew had poured and finished 2/3's of the driveway by 2:00 pm. After the second concrete truck finally the crew finished the rest of the driveway. Then disaster struck, out of a clear blue a sudden shower appeared. The storm appeared so fast, and hard that covering the work would have been useless. In only 16 minutes the storm washed out the left side of driveway to bare gravel, spitting a trail of sand, gravel & concrete for 50 feet down the street. Before I had even had time to think about repair options, Bill Sudlow, the owner called, and let me know that he had already scheduled a second crew to fix the destruction. I asked how they would patch the wash out, and, without hesitation, Bill told me that a patch would never be the same quality. They would remove the entire bottom half of the driveway, again, and install 4 yards of totally new concrete driveway. Before they left the crew cleaned up the entire area including all the material that had run down the street, leaving things broom swept. The second crew arrived early, broke up and removed the damaged driveway, and by 3:30 they had poured, finished and cleaned up the area. The final wall crew arrived early the next morning to install the block retaining wall. Quickly cutting blocks and shaping the wall to follow the steep hill, they finished and stucco coated the wall, cleaned up and were gone by 4:30. I recommend Sudlow concrete without hesitation. My driveway is phenomenal, the quality and craftsmanship are excellent. As an added benefit, for the first time in 30 years, my basement isn't damp when it rains. I can not find a flaw with the driveway, with the walls, with the teams or with the company. This is coming from a restaurant owner who has worked with many, many contractors over the years. A great one is a very pleasant surprise. I highly recommend Sudlow Concrete of Marietta.

Bill Sudlow, the owner of Sudlow Concrete, came to my home to give me an estimate and discuss my driveway replacement project and any special requests I had, The job was started and finished in one day, I have a new driveway and was glad I selected Sudlow Concrete. I believe you would be pleased if you included Sudlow Concrete as one of the companies you call to give you an estimate on your project.

In the summer of 2018, I needed approximately 1/3rd of my very large driveway replaced due to large cracks caused by tree roots. Sudlow gave me the best estimate and replaced the damaged area perfectly. Then in March of 2020, a very large sink hole (approximately 20 feet in diameter) was diagnosed in another large area of my driveway after a small piece of driveway collapsed. I got three estimates and Sudlow again gave me the best price. They removed a part of a fence in my back yard (which they replaced when their work finished) since part of the sink hole went into my back yard. They then removed a large amount of buried trees and limbs which had caused the sinkhole and needed two large containers to remove the trees and limbs from my property, They filled the sink hole with my broken concrete plus gravel and good dirt and poured and finished the new concrete in an excellent manner. They also rebuilt a water catch basin that was in the damaged area and dug a trench that Atlanta Gas Light needed to relocate my gas line as it was under the sinkhole area. Their crew was highly skilled just as they had been the first time I used them.

Everything went exceptionally well. Bill was great to work with. He understood my need and was able to articulate my problem. Scheduling was quick and easy.Roger came out this morning and did an amazing job. I’d definitely recommend for future work

Very well. Before Sudlow was interviewed, our neighborhood assn. had a difficult time finding a company that would do the job or keep their appointments. Sudlow was direct, appropriately priced, and provided complete and competent service. They were in and out in 2 days after doing seven sidewalk sections. Beautiful result. We will definitely go with them again if we need more work done.

The crew was very professional and did a fantastic job. The driveway looks fantastic, even better than I expected. They even came out the next day to wash off the street.

I was very impressed with the work done. In addition, the workers arrived at the exact time scheduled for the work and estimate. The amount charged was very reasonable- much less than another estimate I received from another company. I’ve gotten compliments on my steps already.

I got estimates from four different companies, and Sudlow was the only company that scheduled an appointment with me to discuss my needs. The others just did drive-bys. With some stone hardscapes adjacent to my driveway, I definitely had concerns, not to mention that I had other questions I wanted to raise and discuss. Bill Sudlow and Krist (in the office) as well as his team of installers were beyond exceptional. The driveway is beautiful, and the customer service is why they stand out from all the rest.

The drive way was installed two months ago in July. I found a couple of cracks already . The owner, Bill Sudlow, came out but said it is because the concrete they installed on that part was too thin caused the bigger crack. But their warranty doesn't cover. He would send a guy out to seal the bigger crack but he could not guarantee it will look better. I will rate them after I see the result and update it here and elsewhere online.

The project manager, Aaron and Kristi, in the office, were super responsive initially to any email you sent and quick to schedule and fit us in when we wanted the project done. My concern were with the quality and working crew. Sub-base was to be re-compacted with gravel as needed. I didn't see them doing either. Basically they removed the old section and set the rebars upon my multiple request (without tying them). There is already a hairline crack on the concrete right by the front door. When they poured the concrete, a lot of the concrete splatter went on my red brick walls and stoop on the side (really sloppy work). On top of that the oil/hydraulic pipe bursted on the concrete skid steer right by the front door of the house. The oil/fluid went again all over the front porch stoop made of red brick. They sort of tried to clean it up and Office was suppose to send someone to clean it, but no one came and after multiple requests I gave up.

The crew came early in the morning and were finished by that afternoon. They worked well as a team and did a very professional job on the driveway. Afterwards , everything was cleaned up. They worked carefully to protect my flower beds which unfortunately were right next to the driveway. I have already recommended this company to my friends.

It went on schedule as planned and the finished product was exactly as expected. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sudlow Concrete to anyone.
