We had several lights and sockets that were failing intermittently. The electrician arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, gave us several options and never tried to push us to more expensive options.

Terrible. Subsequent workers mentioned how lousy the work was. Had to have them back several times to fix things. Now have another outage, but too late.

Patrick is personable and efficient. Would definitely use again.

It didn't. The price estimate was almost double the cost of the work done by another company.

A great experience from start to finish. The initial phone contact (which is where most companies lose my business--how difficult is it to be polite & informative when a potential customer first contacts you??) was a breeze -- the phone rep explained their estimating charge that would be applied toward the work if approved and the appointment was set for the next day. The technicians were prompt, extremely courteous, and flexible when I had to leave to exchange a few hardware items while they were on site. Their work process was thorough (they even cleaned the floors when they were done) and they accomplished exactly what I asked them to do. Some of the more basic items seemed a bit high to me but after reading about the quality & reputation of the company on Angie's List I'd decided not to obtain multiple estimates and just go with them instead of wasting time I don't have. I definitely got what I paid for and am extremely pleased with the results. Next time I would probably get at least one more estimate if time permitted, but in any sort of emergency I wouldn't hesitate to call them again as I know the job would be 100% right the first time.

I called them out but I think they were a little more expensive than I wanted to pay. I think they were very good, but a little high. There was a charge to come out. When they got here, the electrician tried to charge me $100 to do a full analytical check on our electrical system on our old house. I thought they were trying to charge me more than they said on the phone. They were very prompt. They were confident and I felt like they would have done a good job. For an emergency, I would use them again.

I called and explained the problems we were having. VERY helpful on the phone, explained all the particulars and we had an appointment set almost immediately. There was a trip charge but that was credited toward the work we had done. Cory was our electrician. He gave a courtesy call before he came and was there exactly when expected. He quickly identified the problem and went to work on getting everything fixed. He explained all costs upfront and did an excellent job fixing everything and cleaning up afterwards. We were very pleased with the entire process and especially happy that it was not as serious as we feared! Also the additional outlet was a big help.

They were great. I think his price was fair. He very nice guy and he was very meticulous.

He was at the house for an hour and a half. Even in that long period of time, he did not identify the problem. The next day, the power went out, and was going to charge me an emergency rate since it was on the weekend. They were going to charge 220 to come but again when they didn't even find the problem the first time.

All work was done very well. Jimmy Smith was the electrician that did the work. He was polite and knowledgeable. Every Pat Murphy electrician that has been to my home has been great.

It went pretty well, other than it was much more expensive than I had expected. Maybe they put the outlet in more to code than we've had done in the past, but I was expecting something under $100 and instead was quoted $300. I went ahead and had them do it because I would've had to pay $60 for a trip charge anyhow, and I didn't want to pay another company's trip charge to have them charge the same amount.

This was the first time I had used their services and thought highly of them. I was without electricity for a couple of days in late summer and as soon as they heard they came right out. They were very prompt.

The entire experience was positive. First of all, they gave me a 4-hour time window for my appointment BUT they call 30 minutes in advance. This meant I could run home from work when they were on the way rather than sit around all afternoon. Technician was polite, prompt and professional. Both repairman and scheduler were very clear about pricing (which, by the way, was a little high but worth it, in my opinion).

A recent storm caused a failure in one of our circuits due to a damaged line. We were without our refrigerator and some lights. We called the office and they sent out electrician Paul Thompson. We asked for a quote with several options and he gave it to us. He explained that he could track down the faulty circuit and repair it. Paul set our mind to ease and was very professional. He took the time to answer all our questions without putting any pressure on us. We had several other bids but we felt Paul was the most experienced and professional. The price he gave us was very fair and slightly under other competitors. We did not select by price, but it was a bonus. He showed up to do the job just as planned, finished the job in a few days as quoted and cleaned up after himself. He answered repeated questions and advised us on many issues. We have an electrician for life. We couldn't be happier.

It went wonderfully, except that the price was a shock. I guess good work costs money. I certainly plan work with this company again as I do additional work on my home. Cory had great suggestions for simpler and less expensive lighting upgrades that worked better than anything I had in mind. Installation was very fast. He worked away quietly--on the roof, up in the attic, etc. so that I could keep working on a project for which I had a tight deadline. Cleaned up completely afterwards. Very pleasant, good sense of humor also. Excellent company.

Gerald Young, an electrician with Pat Murphy Electric was terrific! He was professional, courteous and efficient in diagnosing and correcting the problem. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who expects the best.

Fast response to my call. Thorough examination of my home's electrical system by Mr. White. Replaced defective parts while working outside in the rain, so that I could have my electrical service restored to power refrigerators, etc., that had been without power for over twenty hours. Fast, efficient, work by Mr. White and his apprentice. Work was performed to a higher standard than I had expected. All debris cleaned and removed. Final inspection of work done was requested by Mr. White, so that I could see exactly what he had done, with a complete explanation of all services. Their motto says it all: "Exceptional service is our standard."

Pat Murphy Electric was called to look into a circuit breaker that kept flipping the lights off. They were called on Monday and an appointment was set up for Tuesday morning between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. At 8:15, the electrician called to let me know he would be there in 10 minutes, which he was. Although I had repeated problems on Sunday with the circuit breaker flipping off, it worked fine while the electrician was there, even with every light on the breaker on. The electrician (Cory) checked the circuit breaker box in the basement and said everything looked normal. Cory asked me what the weather was like when I was having problems, and I recalled that it was storming outside. He said that the problem may have been related to the weather, especially since some outside flood lights were on the same breaker. He offered to check further, but I declined and will wait to see if the problem reoccurs. I was charged only the $49.95 trip fee for his coming out.

I called the office on Monday and they arranged for a technician/electrician to come to our house at my convenience, Thursday morning. (They would have come earlier if I'd been available). I was very pleased with the service in every way and have called them again recently to do a more extensive job involving wiring for a new irrigation well. They will be our electricians from now on!

Cory was prompt, courteous, and did a good job except for one thing. The door of my circuit panel box had to be removed in order to install a circuit breaker. When he removed the door, he broke off a big chunk of drywall. My guess is that he didn't cut around the door with a utility knife before unscrewing it. The door had been painted along with the wall by the previous owner and so it was "stuck" to the wall.

Pat Murphy deployed Calvin to go over some options with us to add some capacity to our basement. Based on his recommendation, we installed 2 20 amp circuits to better distribute the load. Calvin came back the following week to complete the work. He was prompt and very courteous, and completed the work in about 2 hours. He even replaced a blown light bulb which was high on the ceiling. The only downside was that when I reviewed the work (unfortunately after he left), he had accidentally installed a 15 and a 20 amp breaker as opposed to 2 20 amp breakers as originally quoted. I called back Pat Murphy, and Calvin came back out the next day to resolve the problem.
