Pat Murphy Electric Inc - Georgia

Pat Murphy Electric does not provide ball park estimates over the phone. I had been given a quote of $85. to replace the transformer from the electrician who initially installed the fixture, but, he couldn't come out within the time frame I needed. I called Pat Murphy Electric because I had used them for previous jobs,and they did a good job, even though they were a little high in price. I was expecting to pay a little more than the $85. my electrician quoted. The technician arrived in a timely manner and was very courteous. He quoted me an outrageously high price of $250 for the installation and expected it would take 2 hours to complete the project. I paid the technician for the estimate, but will never call Pat Murphy Electric again. Since receiving the estimate from Pat Murphy, I was told by another electrician that the project should take less than 20 minutes to replace the transformer.

I called on Sunday and the guy came out. Thought there was possibly some damage done to a wire inside the wall of my home. The technician was very nice and professional. Didn't get the feeling that he was very confident in what he was doing. He was unable to determine if there definitely was or was not damage done without cutting a hole in my wall which I did not let him do. I had someone come out the next day to check it out and it turns out the problem I was experiencing was not due to electrical but something totally unrelated so I'm glad I didn't let him cut the wall. Not a bad experience - just didn't feel I got what I paid for. But overall it was OK. May or may not use them in the future.

Called them on Monday morning to ask if they could move one light switch and replace two others. They promised to arrive on Tuesday morning, and they arrived promptly, calling 10 minutes in advance to notify us of their pending arrival. Their guy did the work efficiently, quickly, cheerfully, and neatly. This is our second excellent experience with this company.

Good experience. No complaints. Electrician was punctual and worked quickly and efficiently. Told me up front how much it was going to cost. No complaints with the overall experience.

In the neighborhood we were going back and forth on the details, and that?s how we arrived at an estimated amount of $10000. So far everything is good. I have no complaints about it. We are just trying to settle down about exactly what?s going to be done and so forth. So probably we would be working up on may be two projects or more. The gentleman was on time when he came for the initial inspection. Everything worked out really well. The quote came very timely, I got it right away. So it was all good. I might hire this company in the future.

Electrician tested electric area and said service was not required. Made suggestions.

He is our usual guy and we call him all the time for work at the pool. We use them for almost any of our electrical problems. They are nice to us and they know the facility and have never tried to take advantage of us. They don't ever hesitate to tell us if there is something that we can get by with that is a little cheaper. I never feel that I am being gouged and I am very comfortable with them. I will be using them again in the near future. They are very responsive and reputable. They do a very complete and good job. I've never had a problem with them.

I needed emergency service on a Sunday because the outside lights and most of the inside lights in my rental unit went out. My tenant was out of town and arriving back home that night. Pat Murphy Electric co. sent Cory out to find the problem. He was professional, friendly and found the problem quickly and was able to fix it. I had to pay more because it was Sunday and not a normal business day but it was worth it. I will always use them from now on

We arranged the visit from out of town; the office personnel were efficient and accommodating. The technician showed up earlier than scheduled, after calling first to let me know that he was on his way. Once there, he explained that the bathroom job would require punching holes in the wall and ceiling; he gave us the pros and cons and put no pressure on us when we decided not to do the job. He cheerfully and efficiently capped the wires--and not only repaired the outlets, but showed me how to do the repair myself if we should ever have a problem again. He also told me that it was safe to cut and discard the obsolete wires, which I was able to do by myself easily, sparing us the cost of that job. Great service: reliable, highly competent, patient, and worth every cent of the $120 charge.

The initial response to my email query was excellent . The actual time it took to get an estimate was average (four days). The gentleman giving the quote was knowledgeable and professional. I did not choose this company to do the work because I thought the quote was not competitive (significantly higher than other bids). No discounts were offered.

I contacted PME to schedule a visit, review the work, and prepare an estimate. We discussed the work in detail. They confirmed with me what end result I was looking for with each project. Being that I have an older home, the rep from PME discussed what issues might come up once they cut into the walls. They explained what work their estimate was based on how it might increase or decrease based on what was found once the work began. Once the estimate was prepared and agreed upon, PME started soon after. The work was done as expected and I was impressed with the final results. They cleaned up each day after their work was done and took the time to ask me questions during the process to confirm what I wanted done. I was happy with their work and would use them again.

We chose this company after having 2 others give us estimates on what we thought would be a whole-house re-wire. The other companies did spend some time talking to us about options but Calvin from Pat Murphy Electric really helped lay our options out more clearly. He was very knowledgeable about the National Electric Code and stated that it would be appropriate to simply put GFIs in instead of pulling all the old wire (it was still in pretty good shape). He came for a 1.5 days and was very good at communicating when he would show up and how long the work would take. He and the other fellow helping him on the full day really went out of their way to make sure everything was done right. They even caught and fixed a few potential safety issues (open junction box in the attic and an open grounding wire on an outlet series) for no extra charge because he felt it was the proper thing to do. They did an excellent job cleaning up afterward and took time to explain everything again. I am very pleased with this company and would readily call them if we needed work in the future. I highly recommend this very professional, competent, and all-around great company to do any electrical work that you may need.

Paul is great and very knowledgeable. He really helped me to decide what I needed to do and in what order.

The work went very well. I do not have any complaints with them. They came on time and finished the work early. They cleaned up after themselves.

Everything went very well from start to finish. My call to Murphy Electric was answered promptly, my service was scheduled for the next morning. The electrician was prompt, arriving on time and efficiently went about his business. He saved me some money by pointing out that I needed only one GFCI outlet for the two receptacles near the kitchen sink. Very pleased with the service!

They have been my primary electrical contractor for the entire time I've had my previous house. They're very intelligent and professional. I always request the same electrician. It's a great company. They are very expensive, but they do good work.

He did a good job. It was quality service.

I found him through Angieslist. He was extremely professional and came on time. He did an amazing job and also cleaned up after himself. He was very upfront and honest with the price which I really appreciated. My only downside was that I found him to be a little pricey but the quality of his work was just amazing.

The technician was profiicent and professional. My complaint is that I was told I would receive a call thirty minutes before his arrival and that did not happen. Additionally, he did not have the switch I needed and had to go to a hardware store to get it. Fortunately there was a store nearby. This was a short delay and involved no additional charges.

They are reliable and are very well known in my community. They were very responsive and came out quickly. They did a very good job and their pricing was reasonable as well. I was satisfied with their service.

I emailed the company about the work first and got a prompt response from the dispatcher telling me they could do the work and what the trip charge would be and that it would be applied to the cost of the repair. The technician came out and did a thorough evaluation of the problem. It was a very hot day and he had to work in the attic and crawl space. He gave me two repair options and asked to come back for an early morning repair when it was not as hot since he had to work in the attic. The repair was perfect and the price was just what he quoted minus the angie's list coupon. Very professional and courteous. I would definitely use them again.

Walked around to check out area near lights that were not working to diagnose problem and then fix them. One light had bulb burned out; the other's sensor was broken. Gave source for specialized light bulb so we could purchase it ourselves at lower cost. Provided suggestions for installation of additional light sources.

They said it would be $54 to come to the home. They then charged $195 to look at anything, to "dignose the problem". I felt shaken down. If I told him to leave, my issues wouldn't be attended to and I would still have to pay $54. They don't tell you this when you make the appointment. I can't stand sneaky companies. He looked over all our issues and replaced one outlet (I think he felt guity about what he actually did for $195). Unfortunately, I had to have an air conditioning guy come out the next day because the air wasn't working. The air guy said the electrician put in the wrong fuse in the air conditioning spot and wrote on it "dead fuse". So, they created an additonal problem for me. I won't be calling on them again. If you do... get your checkbook and coupon ready!!

A corner section of my bedroom had lost electricity, without an apparent cause. After checking the circuit breaker and other electrical outlets, I called Pat Murphy after finding them on Angie?s List. They were prompt, timely and thorough. What started as a simple job wound up taking longer than expected to locate the problem with the wiring and why the outlets weren?t getting power. Daniel found and fixed the problem and still worked within the original price he quoted me. He also installed a GFI in my bathroom. He was very detailed in his explanation of the process and kept me informed throughout the job. All-in-all, a great experience.
