Description of Work: Total rip off! Called to get an assessment of an old building that I was purchasing in downtown Atlanta. I was concerned structurally about adding a second floor to a space that was built in 1930. The girl on the phone told me it was going to be $250. I setup an appointment. An elderly gentleman showed up. I pointed out my concerns. He basically stood in one spot, pointing..telling me that, thats ok.. and thats ok. He didn't go to the rear of the building, nor did he get on any of my ladders to assess the partly water damaged wood on the ceiling..no thermograph, no moisture meter. He was definitely too delicate to either climb a ladder..knock a hammer to brick or wood, let alone climbing on my roof. He was there for about a half hour. When he was done I broke out my check book. He told me it was going to be $400!!!! What??? He said he was charging me for an hour for the consultation @ $200 and since he drove from Tucker to Atlanta, that was an additional $200!!!! What! Who is this guy, the Pope!!! Geez, Louise! He told me that he would email me a report..Its been a week, nothing..He was a nice enough old man, however def feel that I didn't get my moneys worth from a modern competent structural engineer! Don't waste your money people! Mr Palmer if you're reading this, maybe its time to retire!

Description of Work: They did a structural assessment. I was pleased with their assessment, but I had to follow up with them a bunch of times to get the report.
