Allgood Plumbing Electric Heating & Cooling

This was not an emergency installation as our 17-year old water heater was still working, but the expansion tank had started to leak, so it seemed like a good time to replace everything. I researched several plumbing service providers through Angie’s List. Allgood was one of three companies I contacted for an estimate. They happened to be the last place I called, so by the time they arrived I had estimates from two other companies, and had spent a couple of weeks researching several types of water heaters, including tankless heaters. I decided that a traditional 50 gallon natural gas water heater was more than sufficient for our needs. One reason I contacted Allgood for an estimate is that they recommend/install water heaters from several different manufacturers, so I figured they would not be pushing me to buy a specific brand, as was the case with the other two companies I contacted. We received a courtesy call from an Allgood representative about an hour before the scheduled arrival time. John Hutchins (Allgood Service Technician) answered our questions and prepared an estimate. Allgood’s price for a new water heater and expansion tank was lowest of the three quotes we received, and one of the other quotes was for the exact same equipment. I also qualified for an additional five percent senior citizen’s discount. I hadn’t planned on replacing the water heater on the same day, but John showed up ready to go to work. He had a young associate/trainee (can’t recall his name) to help with the removal/installation, and he had the brand/model water heater on his truck that I was on my short list. I also decided purchase a second sacrificial anode (to increase the manufacturer’s warranty by four years), and he had one ready to install. Lastly, I was interested in having a hot water recirculation system installed (provides nearly instantaneous hot water at a location far from the heater), and John had one of those on his truck as well. So, the go-ahead was given to begin work immediately. The installation went smoothly and quickly, and John provided instruction on the operation of the new recirculation system, and operation/maintenance of the new water heater. John and his associate were courteous and professional, and we were very satisfied with the quality of their work. It has been over three weeks since the work was completed, and everything is working perfectly. This is the first time I have used Allgood, but they are now at the top of my list for future plumbing needs.

Did an excellent job on replacing valves that were inside the home to turn off the water to the outside facets they were in terrible shape they kept leaking, plus the exterior valves they put some new tacking in the facets. I would hire them and do excellent work.

It worked out well. We’ve used numerous plumbers since we took this home. We were pleased. The cost was a little bit higher than an estimate we received from another plumbing company but otherwise, we were very pleased. They were professional and did everything they said they would do. We’ve had no issues so we were pleased.

The plumber was very good and did a good job. He was by no means the reason I wouldn't use them again. It was the price.

The job took less that three hours to complete including a repair to my repair to my PVC sprinkler feed that was damaged by the plumber when he stepped on it. I was given a fixed rate job price before work began but tried to re-negotiate it when the work done cost over $250 per hour when finished. Algood management heard my complaint about the cost but was unresponsive after four phone calls. I felt $100 per hour would be a reasonable charge for the work plus the cost of the few fittings used to make the repair.

It was not very good at the end. He could not do anything very well. He wanted to charge, but I didn?t pay any. He was trying to say that he did something and he wanted me to pay $100 or something. I figured there was no reason for that and I did not. Then I called the company. They said, ?okay, I didn?t have to pay!? The technician was trying to get the money from me. He was a crook, I would say. He came twice. He could not do it, then he called somebody and the same thing happened. That company is not good. They could not even find out the problem. The problem is still not taken care of. We had to call somebody else for that. Their office was good. It was the technician that was terrible. They came on time and everything. The technicians are not quite right, their professionalism was not good.

It was a good experience. We had a problem with a connection faucet to our washing machine. I was getting a new washing machine and needed it changed out. Everything was great, they came out in the time frame discussed and did the job. I did have to pay a little more then the $50 price of the Deal. The work took about a half hour to be completed, the plumber was very professional and left the area clean.

I set up appointments with both an electrician and a plumber from the company on the same afternoon for commercial quotes. I understood that there was a fee for each of them to come out and give a quote, but based on their reviews, I thought they'd be reliable and it would be worth it. I took off the afternoon to meet with them, as they do quotes in time windows. I received a call halfway through the window telling me that they BOTH would not be able to make it in time and wanted to reschedule. I initially set up a second appointment, after working hard to find a time, but they weren't sure it would work out. I thought better of it and called right back and cancelled. I already lost out on an afternoon of pay to meet with them and really needed the quotes asap to secure a commercial lease for my company. We had already scheduled this appointment 5 days out. Not professional, especially if you are going to charge someone to come out and give a quote. They get a D instead of an F, because the 3 people I spoke with on the phone seemed pretty pleasant and knowledgeable.

I had a significant leak from my upstairs bathroom into my downstairs bathroom. The service provider was knowledgeable and was able to fix the problem quickly and without a huge mess. The only recommendation I would have for the company is to get their phone system straightened out. I got four different answers and no one seemed to have the correct information. It would have been a deal breaker if I did not have the time to make all of the phone calls.

Diagnosed the problem. Extensive job. Still deciding. Will get a second opinion.

Great. Office staff, Sabrina in particular, was very patient with my credit caed and scheduling problems. Keith, the techician performing the service, was very thorough - took his time without disturbing my routine - plus he threw in a few little extras, like replacing a light bulb and fixing a gas leak I was not aware of. He was very king and dir a good job. I'd recommend Allgood due to this experience, plus a previous large electrical job they performed and excelled at. They're adept at multiple services and make home mtc a little easier that way.

They came out and "augered it" and charged me $250 which seems pretty steep for a comparable service. The initial customer service via phone (Malcolm) and even the guy who came out (Alan) were VERY nice people, but the issue was not resolved. A few days later my kitchen sink started making weird noises every time I would flush my toilet, I did not realize until a week later that the lid for my return was not replaced properly so instead of backing up and alerting me to the actual issue not being fixed, every time I flushed my toilet it ended up on my front lawn. I called on a Saturday and they told me someone would be out here on Monday to fix it *for free*. So all weekend long, anytime someone needs to go to the bathroom it ends up on the front lawn. Finally, Monday rolls around and they call me and tell me 3 hours before my appt time that if I want someone to come back and rotoroot it again, it's going to be another $250. Up until this point I was only mildly annoyed at the price, the customer service is still top notch.... UNTIL this guy, some sort of supervisor calls me to fight with me. I suggest that perhaps the issue wasn't resolved the first time since it backed up mere DAYS after the first appointment and he just continues saying "Wow. Wow. Wow." and how I DON'T EVEN KNOW how fast tree roots grow, it's definitely that I have tree roots that grow at lightning speed and have clogged my pipes all over again. Overpriced and now I am literally up sh*t creek, aka my front yard.

The quoted price was $527, which I thought is way too much. I paid the $39 for the visit, and decided to shop around.

Very professional. Service call on time and gave us a quote on parts and labor. We were pleased with cost. Our service tech called to see if our desired water heater was available. It was so he left to pick it up and returned to install. Amazing, all in one day. Highly recommend Allgood and our service tech Jon.

It was good. They came soon after. I don't have any complaints. They were on the high-end on pricing. With $50 credit, it does help a little bit, but I feel like they do come out and charge a little bit more than average. The quality was good, the guy was pretty good. He communicated with me, called me a few times and told me when he was going to be there and everything. I would look for an alternative, simply because of little bit of higher pricing. I'm a little more price sensitive than anybody else I guess because I have multiple properties, I just want to make sure that I get the value on the dollar I spend. They're one of the larger companies here, so I'm sure they can do the job. I'll simply tell others to be ready to pay a little bit more than average.

I purchased the deal from Angie's list and was given 3 ideal time slots. No one called me so I'm going to ask Angie's List for a refund. Really disappointing especially since they appear to be highly rated. Perhaps the plumbers are great but their customer service team is lacking? I'm looking for a plumber that I can rely on to perform work on a consistent basis and calling me back would have been a fabulous start.
