Description of Work: "A clogged toilet was the problem. I had purchased my very first Big Deal at $50.00 for 100.00 worth of plumbing work long before I knew I'd have a toilet problem. The city of East Point had recently increased the water pressure in the city infrastructure and my bathtub faucet that used to leak in a trickle now gushed out, wasting water and money. I learned that I needed a pressure valve and eventually planned on getting a plumber for the job. But now I had my first ever stopped up toilet and decided to use my BIG DEAL coupon. Jim and his helper arrived an hour or more late, but it was raining so badly that day, I was surprised they still came. I was actually amazed that this sort of job is ever done in this sort of rain. They weren't equipped well or even dressed for the rain, no raincoats or umbrellas, etc., so I lent them mine. They still got soaked but their attitude was good, as if they didn't notice the rain. However, after trying to unclog the toilet inside the house, inspecting under the house crawlspace and even tried from the roof top vents, looking all over the property for a clean out, they decided that they couldn't unclog my toilet unless they pulled the toilet up and reset it. They said they needed to write up what it would cost. When they presented the bill to me, it said that I had already spent 136.00 for task S106 = auger toilet. (but my toilet was not cleared) The next line item was S105 = pull toilet and reset = and that would be costing me another $410.00. They also wrote out another amount for task D155 = $4,071.67 because they said I needed to replace all the sewer pipes under the old house. Also, tack V301 = $458.00 reduce pressure reducing valve and task B511 = $336.00 to replace double handle stems and seats. The bill wasn't totalled up but I could not believe this bill. Then they told me that if I couldn't afford it, there was another company whose ad said they would unclog my toilet for $93 or it's free. They told me not to tell anyone that they told me this. Jim also told me that they would come back and find and replace my pressure valve, change out my bathtub faucet that leaked and cap off my sewer line that had broken, all for $600.00 if I would call Jim at his cell number. He wrote it on the top of the receipt. I was so thankful that they seemed to be trying to help me save money that I told them I wouldn't tell that they referred me to someone else. I took their advice, looked up the ad for ""93 or free"" and called the other company... who came out the next day and finally fixed my clogged toilet.. However it was NOT $93,00. It was $193.00 because pulling the toilet was another $100.00. Thank you, Jim. So my bill for Allgood, even though actually they did nothing for me, was $136.00 to auger the toilet and another $15.00 for what ever 'TFS' is (probably Tough, F S___) at a total of $151.00. But I had a BIG DEAL from Angie's list! They told me they didn't do Angie's List any more. But I printed out the coupon and they gave me $50.00 off. I paid them $101.00 right then... for what? So to get my toilet unstopped, I paid $294.00. It would have been $193.00 if only I hadn't had a BIG DEAL from Angies list with Allgood Plumbing. ALLBAD I called Jim to get him to come and do the work he promised he would do, about 3 times, left messages, but no response. Finally I left my email address in the lastt message and he wrote back asking me to please allow him to check his schedule and get back to me. That was about a month ago or more. I sent back a line or two a couple times to prompt him that his schedule couldn't be that complicated could it? to take this long... I'm still waiting... I guess they were just scammers. They can't do the work or don't want to do the work, so they bring in a big bill - Give me the bad news - telling me I would have to pay the world to get my problems fixed. Then they give me the good news and advise me to call someone else, who will do it cheaper. But to make them look even better they offer to come back and fix my biggest problems at a fair price. By the way, they also asked me not to do a review of their work until after they come back to fix my pressure valve and the problems that go with that. So now, after so much time has gone by while I have been trying to reach them to have them come back and do what they said, NOW finally I have come to the conclusion that they scammed me! Who knows, they probably aren't even plumbers! They do nothing to solve my problem, but they tell me some bad news, and it's so bad... that when they tell me the good news, I pay them anyway (for NOT doing what I called them here to do) because they've promised they would come back and solve ALL my problems. So I PAY them for NOTHING and am THANKING them for blessing me with their presence and for LYING to me that they will be back to help me later, as I walk them out my door! what an unbelievable scam! This was my first experience with Angie's List. I want all my money back from Allgood Plumbing and from Angies List. I bought 2 BIG DEALS for Allgood Plumbing and the other one I have not used. I want my money back for both of them, please. Thank you."
