Description of Work: We were lied to by the salesman. When the installers came, it was hard to communicate because only one of them spokesome English. They are sub contractors, however they did both put on a 50 floors T-shirt before starting the job. Yes actually pulled those shirts over their other Tshirt. When the salesman came to sell me the floors I relied on his professional experience, in terms of what type of floors I wanted in my bathroom and kitchen. He out right lied and sold me on 2 floors had to pay half that day, How ever the bathroom floor did not even get done because it was impossible with the naterials he sold me. The kitchen floor has nails popping threw and a huge crease after only being installed for 3 hours. Quality control man came to see the problem, took photos. Later 50 floors called and told me to hire a contractor to rip out the floors and get new sub floors installed. Then they would come out and install the floor over. The salesman told me that sub floor would be put down before installation of new floors. His exact words! They are expensive and do shoty work at best. I herd about them from trust Dale on channel 2 news. Later went on line and to my surprise there is a whole web site dedicated to how awful 50 floors is. Dont trust dale, trust me and never never do business with 50 floors!!

Description of Work: I had hardwood installed in 3 rooms. I needed to have the subfloor replaced in two of the 3 rooms and only needed small areas replaced. They struggled to replace those small areas and ended up having to put down subfloor in the two rooms. They wanted me to pay for that since they didn't have the skilled labor to replace the small areas. I refused and ultimately they replaced it without the extra charge. Even though I would not use them again I am appreciative they worked with me and resolved my complaint to my satisfaction.

Description of Work: 50 floor installed brand-new carpet throughout our house aside from a small area that was already hardwood floor. They were punctual and professional the entire time. They did a great job and I would absolutely use them again. I called this business and explained to them that I needed as estimate for installation of some sheet vinyl, but I already knew what I wanted. I gave them the manufacture's name and the name and # of the vinyl sheet flooring I wanted. The lady that I spoke too wasn't sure if thay could get that manufacture's flooring. I explained to her that they had that manufacture's name listed on their website. I could hear her ask someone if they could do that and they said yes, no problem. The guy arrived on time and measured, after he finished, I told him about the particular vinyl that I wanted and he looked at me like I had two heads. We also talked about the pattern match and he began to tell me that he didn't want the job and that it would cost me too much (isn't that the reason for an esitimate and my decision?). He he said "you mean you aren't planning to buy from me today?" I told him no that it was a big job and a lot of money and I was planning on getting several estimates before I made a decision. He made several rude comments and told me he would call me with an estimate (which he never did). When I mentioned that I was usinfgAngie's List to find a good flooring company, he proceeded to tell me that busineses paid Angie's list to get good reviews. I immediatey told him that was not so, he immediately got his stuff and left.

Although 50 Floor estimated that installation would take 4-6 hours (it really took about 13 hours), the installation team was incredible. First, they called on appointment day to confirm their 9:30ish a.m. arrival time. When they arrived as promised, they asked me to confirm that the correct carpet was on their truck (and it was). Then Carlos, the foreman, asked to see the areas where the new carpet would go. He listened to my concerns about the stairs and confirmed that he could install that area to my specifications. Then, the real labor began. They moved the furniture, pulled up and hauled away the old carpet, removed closet doors from hinges where needed, put down the padding and new carpet, vacuumed, and replaced the furniture. Carlos did as I asked on the stairs, leaving some of the wood exposed to showcase its rich look. Carlos and his team worked virtually non-stop doing this back-breaking, knee-pounding work. (They really could have benefited from having a fourth team member for this amount of work.) When they finished around 10:40 p.m. that same day, the crew asked me to inspect all the newly carpeted rooms, hallway and stairway. The floors looked great. I then signed off on their paperwork with our compliments and appreciation.
Description of Work: We had our old carpet removed from the hallway and 3 bedrooms on the main level and 1 stairway, 1 bedroom and 1 entertainment room upstairs. We selected two different patterns from the Bliss EverClean line for each floor level, but used the same color. We also selected an 8-pound carpet padding. As educated consumers, we did our homework, researching the Web about carpet buying and each company's background. We requested bids from three flooring companies: 50 Floor, Empire and a company that primarily specializes in servicing commercial clients. 50 Floor and Empire were advertising special deals, while the third company was extending a professional courtesy to us as a friend and business colleague. All companies responded very promptly in sending reps. However, Empire's rep had a more professional look, demeanor and presentation, and could install sooner than the other two companies. 50 Floor initially did not specify that both spouses needed to be present for their visit. (Neither of the other companies stipulates such.) After explaining to the rep that that stipulation was impractical for our household, he eventually called his manager who granted approval for the presentation to continue. (Given that most households do not have the time or desire to tie up two schedules simultaneoueously, and also given that many [if not most] two-head households consult each other about major purchases, 50 Floor might want to reconsider this out-dated business decision.) Ultimately, we chose 50 Floor because our selected carpet's warranty slightly exceeded the other companies', their padding was thicker and they undercut Empire's bid. The 3-man installation crew arrived about 2 weeks after we paid our 50% deposit.

I called to set up an appointment for an estimate on Friday. Someone called me the next day and John(sales) came out at the time frame that I chose. He showed up on time and was very professional and courteous. He showed great patience as my wife and I couldn't decide on the color floor that we wanted and my 3 kids were in the living room as well. We gave a down payment and John said that they would call us when the floors arrived to their warehouse and he would try to get them done before Christmas. They called us on Wednesday and said they could do the installation on Friday. Perry and 2 other gentlemen showed up and did all of the work as it was promised, they were there before 9am and were totally done with the install, cleanup and they were gone by 5:30p. The best part about the experience was they did what they said they were going to do when they promised to do it. I will not only refer this company but I will use them again when I do my floors upstairs. All around an excellent experience.
Description of Work: Carpet was removed downstairs, about 750 square feet and hardwood floors were installed. Old baseboards were removed, discarded and new ones installed.

My experience from start to finish with 50 Floors was excellent. We had reached out to a few other vendors (empire and an individual contractor). The demo experience was by far better than Empire. My Empire had more samples and options to use from, it felt like they were just trying to make a sale. Additionally, I thought the advice they provided me, was not good. Empire price was crazy high. So we selected had 50 Floors came back out for a final demo. Again the sales person we was very professional, easy going, no pressure and really enjoyed working for the company, which he had been there for a number of years. The price was great!While the installation was done by contract company (I think Price carpets or something), they were excellent and very professional and got the job done in one day.Great experience overall. Highly recommend. My only knock on them, is the limited inventory.
Description of Work: 50 Floor provided carpet samples and provided estimates based on the rooms we wanted carpeted. Ultimately, we decided, to use 50 Floor to replace our carpets. They used a contracting company to do the installation, but the contracts were very experience, worked very hard and did a quality job.

It has been almost a year since we had the carpet and flooring installed but I do remember that we had a good experience. They arrived on time, did all of the work - carpet in all rooms in the house and installed the hardwood flooring in the dining room all in one day. A lot of furniture had to be moved! My only negative comment was only one person on that crew spoke english.

The salesman that gave us the estimate was late, but he gave us an extra $100 off to compensate, plus let us know that the next special they were running was better than the one currently advertised and gave us that price, too. We felt that the price was good. We also got a discount for paying cash. They came when they said they would, moved all furniture and replaced it as promised. The carpet is a bit loose on the steps, but no so much that I have called them back to come look at it. Overall, we were very satisfied.

Overall, I had a great experience with 50 Floor. They arrived when they said they would, on a Saturday nonetheless. The two gentlemen that came surveyed the rooms where the carpet was going to be installed. Immediately got to work in removing the old carpet and padding, removing the old staples in the floor and making some small repairs to the sub floor. Before I knew it, they were done with laying all the new carpet. I had a nice roll of extra carpet leftover, which the gentleman rolled up and asked me where I wanted it. They cleaned up and left. They were in and out in about 4 hours. Great job, I would definitely recommend and use them again!

Overall, I was disappointed that the experience did not go well, because I thought the price was very good. But when people are rude in the very beginning before they even have a contract, or your money, well that's a sign to me that other things might not go so well either.
Description of Work: I called to get an estimate on carpet. The sales person brought in 4 samples, and I noted that I don't' like shag, or Berber, which eliminated two of the samples. I was left with one that had the quality that I was looking for, but not the color. The other had the color but not the quality, but I asked for quotes on both. The sales person said she would email me the quote that night, but did not, and when she did, she only sent one quote. I had to email back to ask for the other. So I called back to 50 floor (the receptionist is very nice), because I figured there MUST be more than two options for me to choose from. When I was transferred to the sales manager, he was very snappy and said "Ma'am, we don't have a show room, so we can't show you EVERYTHING." I said " Sir, I'm not that unreasonable. I don't' expect you to show me everything, but I expect more than 2 choices! I don't' think that's too much to ask". With that kind of customer service, just because I asked for more choice, I think that was a sign that this may not be a good experience and may be frustrating. He offered to send the sales agent back out, but at that point, I declined.

I asked why did I not get a call. They said they were sorry and offered me $100 off. I told them this was a meaningless offer because cost had not been determined yet. I understand things do not always go as planned but a simple phone call cost this company my business.

The new hardwoods were laid fairly well, except for some gaps that needed to be filled. The finish of them though was very poor, with trash and debris under the polyurethane, and also lots of air bubbles all over the surface that gives the floor a very rough look. In some places on the new floor and the refinished floors, there are "puddles" of polyurethane that have dried. And also a large dent was made in my kitchen floor in one place. They didn't clean up behind themselves, and cigarette butts were left thrown down in my yard and driveway. It was supposed to be a 3-day job, and it turned in to a 9-day job, so we were out of our living area for a long time and having to smell the fumes much longer than planned. Now we are going to have to have the whole process done over again. It involves moving out all the furniture again and packing up other things in the rooms that need to be moved and getting them to another area on a lower level of the house.

Our crew dropped the ball, it is the first time we have ever had a issue like this, we have over 20 crews, and we are doing the best we can to fix it.
