I've used both 50 Floor and Empire. I was REALLY disappointed in 50 Floor. First, the salesman was very good. It's unfortunate though that the company isn't. It took several weeks to get my tile in stock, and scheduling with them wasn't easy. They did however have my deposit for almost two months. But...all those things can be overlooked. What can't be overlooked is the contractor they used. I live in a high rise, and I know that taking the tile up and down the elevator is difficult. Once the contractor arrived and saw the set up, he told me tile needed to be laid over the existing tile. Then, when I said "NO", he proceeded to tell me that the tile would be too slick for a bathroom, even though it had been sold as a non slip tile. It was then I called 50 Floor's install department. The service rep asked to speak to the installer and I stood there listening to him while he lied and said that he had just "asked" me about not removing the existing tile, that he had not told me that the new tile needed to be placed over the old tile. Then, he said he had to go get more equipment and left his worker without returning. His worker was very nice and hard working. He finished up a day later and said that his boss would return to finish the trim work and reinstall the toilet. The man put the trim work down. He did a horrible job, leaving pencil marks all over and caulking needing to be done. He told me that he would need to return the next week to reset my toilet because he didn't have the correct rubber seal. I told him there was a Home Depot less then 1 mile from my house and that I couldn't wait a weekend for a toilet. He then said a plumber would have to do it because a part was broken. At that point I called 50 Floor and they did send a plumber out that Friday. However, the contractor left without saying anything, and left a mess where he had worked on my patio and didn't do a complete job on the trim. Despite me calling both the salesman and the service department, NO ONE called to follow up and inquire about the job. I'm sure though, they charged my credit card for the balance due immediatlely. Will never recommend them or use them again. If I wasn't in a very secure high rise, I would not have felt safe having that contractor in my home after he lied the first time to me and he seemed angry that I had caught on to his attempt to circumvent the job he was contracted for.

50 Floor installed hardwood floors in the entire main level of our home back in 2013. Since we loved the floors and they did such a wonderful job we had them come back in July 2015 to install the same hardwood in our 2nd floor bedrooms and hallway. They were professional, prompt, courtious and did an excellent job by installing the floors in one day. The price was very reasonable.

Was assisting my disabled sister in getting new carpet and flooring in her condo. As she is mostly home-bound, we needed a provider that could come to her with samples, and installers that could get the job done in one day when I could be there. Had a good sales and installation experience with 50 Floor. Salesperson Matt showed up on the appointed date at the appointed time (in the middle of a torrential downpour, no less); was very patient, personable, and knowledgeable about the products. Was able to schedule the install within 10 days of selecting product. Received reminder calls prior to and the morning of the installation, installers called with their ETA and showed up on time. They worked diligently and had everything finished in one day. Overall a good experience and I would use them again, and recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Installed new carpet throughout condo; installed new vinyl plank flooring in kitchen and bathroom.

I've updated my review as of 06/29/15 50Floor has called and ordered the carpet to completely replace and resolve. I didn't improve the responsiveness due to the length of time we have been trying to get to a resolution. But I appreciate that we are now on the right path. ------------------------------------------------- The carpet is two different colors in the hallway upstairs. The seam in the master has a raised area. They will only fix the master bedroom seam by stretching. They refuse to address the fact the carpet is two colors in the hallway. We are meeting our commitment by paying for the carpet. They are not making their commitment by resolving the issue and making the entire upstairs area ONE carpet color. They used two different lots, I assume, and refuse to correct it. We have had to continue to follow-up with them on the claim they made to the carpet manufacturer. It is NOT a manufacture issue, it is their issue due to installing two different lots. We actually waited weeks to install to ENSURE IT WAS THE same lot. It was not. I have a very clear picture, which we also sent to their customer service manager, that shows it is two colors. We simply want what we paid for, the same color carpet throughout the upstairs.
Description of Work: Replaced carpeted area in entire house. Upstairs in every room and closet. Downstairs one room and closet.

From the moment we met with John, our representative for our in-home consultation until the installation crew left our home, we were beyond pleased and satisfied customers. Everything went smoothly, on schedule and as planned with a couple of minor changes recommended by the installation crew regarding transition points where flooring types met. We were grateful for the expertise of everyone we dealt with. John took pains to cover every facet of the process and the advantages or disadvantages of our initial selections. There was no push for sales at all...it was strictly what we wanted and could do within our set budget. We were told someone would call us in 5-10 days when they received the materials to set up an installation time. They called in 7 days. The office called the day before the installation to confirm and also the morning of the installation to assure us the crew would be contacting us shortly. They had already called and arrived on time. The Crew Leader, Domingo, walked through every area scheduled for installation and made sure the different materials were as we had ordered and the measurements exact; then they began their business of moving furniture. We had to use the deck to give them the space they needed to do our great room and study. They worked diligently and swiftly each with their job to do. The yard and porch became a saw and cutting area and each piece was remeasured for accuracy. In spite of a thunderstorm that popped up mid-afternoon when the crew had to quickly put tarps over our furniture on the deck, all stayed on schedule. They made sure every piece of furniture was in its proper place and cleaned up meticulously. We couldn't be happier.
Description of Work: 50 Floor installed Quick Step Laminate flooring in our downstairs. They also installed Congoleum Airstep in our Kitchen and bathrooms, all of which had previously been carpeted. (Approximately 1400 sq. ft. total area)

See above please the salesman needs a lesson in sales.
Description of Work: Called for an estimate to pull the carpet from our dining and living rooms, as they were the only rooms without wood. Was upfront that this is all we were doing and the wood colors we wanted. The salesman came out with laminate samples no hardwood and no colors close to what we asked to see. He then got rude and and said if we don't have our other hardwoods replaced by them it was not worth his time. Called the manager and they could have cared less. Called another company who was happy to do the two rooms and they look great. Also when we asked the other company about our existing maple floors they said they were very nice and recommended just a sanding, which is what we were going to do. They got that business as well. This was 2 years ago but only recently did we join Angie's list.

Jennifer the sales girl said 2 day job most. Started on 1/27/15 showed up late almost every day left early every day. This 2 day job was a month long nightmare DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they run out of material and then take days to contact you and then WRONG material comes in. Don't want to waste a lot of time on these people just BAD BAD is about it. Phillip the GM did want to offer compensation for the nightmare we went thru and out of the so called "kindness" of his heart it was 300.00 not kind enough as far as I am concerned since his workers were terrible and he did not have time to return any of our calls until end of February. I ended up hiring a different company to finish the caulking and touch up of this work

Every installation is unique and unfortunately 50 Floor can not give a firm time for completion of a customer's floor installation. However, installs would usually never take up to a month for completion. There are times unforeseen problems will arise. On your floor matter with shortage of material, we truly try to prevent this problem from occurring by making sure in the very beginning the correct quantity of material is ordered and also the installers would contact the installation department to communicate they are short before arriving to the customer's home. Honestly, I am not sure where the disconnect came in for your installation being short on material. We apologize that you did not have a good experience but we truly appreciate your business. Would not leave a detailed estimate of exactly what I would be paying for. They only would give me a bottom line figure.

I called to make an appointment and was disappointed with the quality of service I received while making the appointment. The customer service representative appeared not to care about my needs and immediately lectured me about all decision makers being available before they will come out, and that they will not leave anything so I have to be ready to make a decision. I made an appointment and wasn't sure she understood what I was requesting. After not hearing back from anyone, I called to confirm my appointment. I was informed that confirmation would not be done until 20 minutes before my appointment. I did receive a confirmation 20 minutes before my appointment, and the representative showed up on time. Jennifer was cordial, but was misinformed about what we wanted. I explained what I was looking for, provided a floor plan, and requested detailed pricing. 50 Floor said they would only provide total pricing and could not give estimates based on building floor plans. She began to lecture us about how they do business. I thanked her for her time and stopped our appointment. I felt undervalued and a burden to their business. I will find another company that values their customers. This company does not deserve an A rating

We set up an appointment and the home consultant never showed up in the appointment window. My husband called after the appointment time and was told, "the consultant had a family emergency." Well all fine and dandy but at what point were they going to contact us to tell us she was not going to show up at all. Extremely unprofessional management. We went with another company. we will not call again. We are on our 7th home and currently remodeling.

We were told the time by the sales person that the job would be 3 or 4 days total. When the person doing the installation came he said 5 days. I had arranged for vet care go my cats I had to call and extend it to 5 days. We also asked to extend our stay with our friends. We wanted the floor colors to match as close as possible the new and existing floors. We wanted a transition strip between the great room and dinning area to be a different color. These were two boards we wanted stained a different accent color. This caused a great deal of confusion for the sub contractor Leo. My neighbors watched our house the coming and going of people for us. There were times when no one was at the house. I called and spoke with a lady at 50 floor and asked about it and would this cause any further delay. She contacted Leo and he said the delay was with the transition strip and blamed it on us. I contacted Leo and said the strip was fine please continue and tried to pin down a completion time. He said floors needed time to cure it would be an extra day. Called vet and asked friends for extension. This went on and on for 10 days. The vet bill for 3 cats boarding was $1,000. This on top of the $6,000. When we were able to get back into the house I was told that Leo and his crew would be by I the morning to move the furniture back into place. After many texts and calleds he showed up at 4 pm. We were in the house a few days and noticed places where the finish was bad and deep holes in the wood. We contacted 50 floor again and they paid us to fix the floor. They reimbursed my husband for the materials because we didn't want Leo back in our home. About 2or 3 weeks later something fell under the refrigerator and we noticed that the floor under the refrigerator had not been sealed. It was sanded wood with no finish. We called 50 floor again and complained. They sent a man named Wilber who I wish we had had do all the floors. He fixed the problem in 3 days. He also said what happened to us was totally unnecessary and didn't like some of the work that Leo had done. We still have a water stain that is better but we're told would be removed, Wilber shook his head at that. I will say that when we complained things were delt with but would still NEVER use them again. We have Wilber's card for the future. I waited to complain because I was so upset I was concerned what I might say, but time has not dulled my conviction to never use them again.
Description of Work: Installed wood flooring in our great room and bedroom. Refinished the wood floors in out entry, dinning room, and kitchen.

They’re very good. They did a good job. They came and measured. They’re clean and nice. We did have some issues with the tile. We had laminate then we didn't have any issues. They came back out and got it fixed. They weren't expensive. Their responsive was very good. The people who did the floors were good and the people who came out from the beginning were excellent. They are more educated.
Description of Work: I used 50 Floor and they did the floors. We used them for four floors.

Brad from 50 Floor called very promptly and scheduled to come and measure and show me samples on July 18. He was prompt professional and knowledgeable. I made my selections and he gave me a price that was under what I had figured it would be with a really good carpet and best pad. They ordered the carpet and scheduled installation for July 24 at noon. On July 24th the installer called and was still tied up on his first job but promised to be there by 3 and was there by 2. They showed me the carpet and pad to make sure that it was what I ordered and proceeded to remove furniture and flooring. They were careful, efficient and tireless and cleaned the floors and set to work with the install. They never stopped until everything was done the way that I would have done it if able. I was very pleased with the overall service and quality of 50 floor and will recommend them.
Description of Work: removed old carpet and pad and replaced in Living room, hallway, and two closets.

They performed what they advertised on the radio. It took them all day long but they did it. I was very pleased with what they did for us. They were out when they said they were going to and they were on time. It was a good bargain.
Description of Work: We had 50 Floor do the floors in the home that we recently sold. They came in, moved the furniture, took out the old flooring, and hauled it up. They installed, put the furniture back in, cleaned up, and left.

Beautiful work, very well pleased. The only glitch ..not enough material ordered to complete job in 1 day...had to come back several days later. All areas of customer service were very nice to deal with from the sales person, Brad to front office Rhonda and mgr. Philip. Installer Carlos was exceptional..does beautiful work and very professional!

The initial consultation went well, but we had a hard time reaching our sales person to make changes. The install went as promised...They were in and out all in the same day. For the most part, they cleaned everything up but I found foot prints that had been tracked through flooring glue on the laminate flooring. My biggest disappointment was the lack of follow-up after the install. Not one phone call from anyone at 50Floor.
Description of Work: Installed new flooring in Kitchen, Bedrooms, and hallways/landings.

He came under the original estimate, and so I was happy with the cost. The workers were here for an entire day, and they did an excellent job. They did a final review and check, and there was a minor issue that I found, which they corrected before they left, and so it was a good experience. They were very responsive, and they were here on time.
Description of Work: I used 50 Floor. They came in and took off all the carpet from my upstairs, and replaced it with a new one.

not good . installation was a month late ...several tiles were installed inproperly. 50 floors repaired several tiles, however,several could not be repaired because the installer glued the tiles down. several of these tiles have gaps. the reason for this late review is due to the fact I just now found you on angies list and feel compelled to put my feelings on record. I concur with many of feelings expressed by others. customer manager angel is well aware of my concerns. l50 floor responsed on 323/2014 as "yes we are working to take care of this matter for you" over to months later not a word.

It went fantastic! Very pleased with the punctuality. Beds were disassembled and put back together flawlessly and installers were patient with my asking them to move my bed because it was not exactly centered. I cannot think of anything that was negative and absolutely love my new carpet. The salesman was very knowledgeable and informative. I called 50 Flooring because of an ad on Fish radio and am so glad I did.
Description of Work: Removed old carpet and replaced with new carpet.

If you want low end carpet/tile this is the place for you. I told them I wanted to see a selection of high end carpet and tile. They told me that most of their carpet and tile is low end as that is where their main business comes from. I did see one carpet that I had interest in but they did not have a sample of it in a fries. I asked them if they could possibly order me a sample and they said no. I wanted to have my fireplace retiled in travertine. They don't offer travertine tile and do not do the face of the fireplace.
