Description of Work: My daughter had to make a very quick move across the country for a new job. Movers Direct was able to combine her move with another load going that direction, arrived within minutes of scheduled pick up, & arranged for a storage unit at the new location. Her belongings arrived exactly as scheduled with only a couple of dishes broken (my daughter did the packing) for a great price! The staff, both office & movers, were great & we would recommend this company without hesitation!

Description of Work: Very helpful over the phone, upfront. Would use for a state to state move. I need a local mover instead, but contact was very helpful and responsive.

Description of Work: They picked up furniture and boxes from house and storage unit in Ithaca NY, took both to Tuscan AZ. Wonderful coordination, wonderful response to convoluted deadlines. The other company I contacted could not schedule a date after speaking with 3 people, and that company is much closer to the pickup point. In contrast, Christy called back in a very short time with several options. The movers were very fast, competent, and friendly. I absolutely recommend them. The cost was comparable to the very rough estimate I got from company #2, who really were only interested in moving pods.

Description of Work: They originally underestimated the volume of goods to be moved. Hence the first quote over the phone was substantially low. However, once the issue was corrected, they did a great job on the entire move.

Description of Work: Movers Direct packed and moved my household furniture and stuff from New Jersey to Texas. They were their word on everything that I was told they were going to do and delivered my furniture on the exact date they said they would. I definitely would recommend them to anyone who plans on moving cross country. I do not plan on moving again, so I'm not going to said I would use them again. :-)

Description of Work: They provided the service's of two men to help us unload a 26' moving truck. It took them just 3 hours to unload the truck and move the furniture and box's into the house or garage. I would use them again.

Description of Work: Moved 13 pieces of furniture I bought from Florida to Texas. It went super. The seller of the furniture had it in storage and the crew leader told me it started to rain, and she wanted him to get all 13 pieces out of storage at once so she could lock the storage unit and go. He objected, saying he did not want them sitting in the rain while he loaded the pieces. Seller was not phased and still told him to put hem out in the rain. He (Josh?) would not relent, even covering up the one piece out already with a blanket or something. He cared more about the furniture than the previous owner. The two movers treated each other kindly, which testified to their true characters.

Description of Work: I am a custom furniture maker and had 15 pieces that needed to be shipped from my shop in PA to a single customer in CA. After getting quotes from many different moving companies and brokers it was the straightforward and personal touch of Movers Direct that won me over. All the other companies I spoke with were mostly just brokers and so their was no guarantee to the quality of movers that would show up. Also, all the other companies quotes were subject to change due to weight, dimensions.... | |When I called Movers Direct I always talked to Christy who knows her 5 crews by name. The have 5 trucks and 5 crews that make runs all over the country. The smallness of this company is a huge selling point to me. They care about doing a good job, because their is no "complaint department" to handle problems. Also, their quote is based on where the truck is going and how many other shipments are on the truck... that simple. No hidden fees, or quote adjusting after a price is given. Also, their price was the lowest I found anywhere. | |The day of the move the crew showed up on time and did a very careful yet timely packing of all these high end pieces of furniture. Description of Work: They were at the Hayward Ca airport to load the plane on Friday when I talked to them. I waited for the delivery on Monday with some helpers, the mechanic and they never showed up. I Called and they said he could not load it even though I had helpers there for him.

Description of Work: Three folks arrived 15 minutes early and got to work immediately! They loaded 2BR Apt and storage area, packed truch so well that not a single item shifted on the 320 mile journey from Pittsburgh to Chambersburg. They were ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. Would use again in a heartbeat.
