Lamar communicated their arrival time and arrived with two very capable helpers. They were professional, extremely respectful and courteous and quite accommodating. They did not rush through the packing process and wrapped everything with care - we've been through most of the boxes and so far, nothing is broken. They disassembled and assembled my son's bed which is no easy task, as it is a loft bed with a desk underneath and includes stairs. They moved items around for me and never acted as if they were put out. I was so thankful for their gracious help, as my SO had to work. I will tell you their estimate did not come in the cheapest however, what sold me is Christy's professionalism, her responsiveness and the reviews on Angie's List. I had another well known company come in cheaper (although they told me the price may change which scared me a bit) and they went through a very condescending spill on how to choose a mover, how professional they are, etc. however, ironically, I noticed they had a few cases where they had broken some items and they definitely didn't follow up with me timely. I went through countless reviews and personally spoke with approximately 5 different companies. So trust me when I say you can save your time scouring the reviews and just choose Movers Direct because they are dependable, trustworthy, communicative, ethical and they get it done! Thanks to Christy and the guys - we are unpacking and although this is no fun task, we are looking forward to our next chapter and appreciate your services. Blessings! John and Valarie

They were at my new home when they said they would be. Their attitude was great! They were professional and they were personable. I would recommend them to anyone.

Mover's Direct is the best moving company we have ever used. We have moved several times and they were by far the friendliest, efficient and most helpful moving company.

The movers performed the required move as negotiated, I had the movers move eveything in the house attic, garage and a few items out of the shed, there was still 2 feet of snow on the ground so I decided against moving the riding lawn mower. What made these movers special and above and beyond expectations is that the movers ( Daniel, Timothy, Jerrod) performed the move by taking special care of our items, wrapping and stacking as not to cause damage to the items being moved. They moved special items such as our Grandfather clock, and relocated our exsting washer and dryer, in the house we moved to, and placed the moved washer and dryer in there place. Overall everything we quite smoothly and no problems came up.

Flawless with one exception. The team did not assemble the bed properly and i had to go out and buy special screws that they took with them. Other than that, it was uneventful.

After a couple of long grueling months trying to find a reputable, trustworthy and reasonably priced moving company, I finally enlisted the help of Angie's List. I contacted a number of companies, somewhere close to 40 in total, and weeded them out according to our specific needs and moving time-frame. I gave primary consideration to their rating on Angie's List as well as with the BBB. Movers Direct is accredited with the BBB and has an A+ rating. They haven't received a single complaint in over 12 years which is unheard of in the moving industry. They have an A rating on Angie's List and earned the Super Service Award in 2013. That's how I discovered and why I chose to work with Mover Direct. Initially, I had breezed past them on the List because of the limited number of reviews in comparison with that of other movers listed. But when I researched again, I gave them a second look and discovered that the reviews they did have were excellent across the board. And, while it was not the most competitively priced moving company, the friendliness, efficiency, and conscientiousness of the movers, Daniel and Cody, was simply outstanding and actually helped to diffuse the overall cost. They loaded up at a house and unloaded at a storage unit. They were friendly, personable, punctual, hardworking and were very careful with wrapping, loading and unloading, stacking, etc. Nothing has been unpacked yet but because they were so careful with everything I don't anticipate any problems. I regret that I didn't tip them more than I did. They certainly deserved it! It was such a relief to have a dedicated truck (which does cost more) at a flat rate for all my mother's belongings rather than having to share truck space with others and pay according to weight or cubic feet or in some cases, both. Also, having a set delivery date (which was crucial for our moving situation) as opposed to a date range was a major bonus. Although the movers were tightly scheduled, they loaded and delivered exactly according to schedule! There is only one thing (well, two if you count the higher cost) that could have made this an an over the top A+ experience and that is improved communication. During my search for movers I quickly gained some insight about what I needed to specifically ask about and why. In most cases, the information was freely given, volunteered , available on the website or was included in writing with the emailed quotes. But that was not the case with Movers Direct. At times I felt as though I had to pull teeth to get basic information or have general questions answered that had been readily available elsewhere. To her credit, however, Christy was very prompt in responding to my inquiries and thankfully, there weren't any unexpected or unpleasant surprises. Overall, the fact that the move went so well and without a hitch from beginning to end (thus far) I believe Movers Direct certainly deserves an A rating. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again if the need arises.

I had been burned badly with my last move, using movers on each end to load/unload "self-pack" move. Said they were professional movers but almost every box and belonging I owned had some sort of damage (from the loaders, the unloaders did great). With previous moves (I've had plenty), always had some problems--that's just understood as part of a move. I really didn't want another horrible experience so I joined Angie's List and one of their employees did a search for me to find cross country movers. Movers Direct had fantastic reviews. I spoke with this company and one other from the list. The other one was slower to respond (I needed to set this up with just a week or two in advance) and truthfully, wasn't as good on the phone. The downside was that the move was going to be expensive, way more than my failed previous move and probably more than the traditional van lines. The extreme upside was how professional and attentive they were?from Christy "in the office" (on the phone) and Lamar and Jeff my movers. In this incidence the idiom is true, "You get what you pay for". The people who move you work for Movers Direct not some subcontractor and they are with you (and your belongings) from the beginning until the end. Your belongings are the only thing in the truck. These are the reasons why they are more expensive than traditional movers. More than worth it?in my opinion. Quotes are based on your square footage of your house then there was a lump sum as well for packing and for trailing the car ($850 each). There is no negotiating at the end of the move. What the quote was is what you pay. I called someone who gets his car sent between Chicago and Phoenix regularly and said it costs $700 each way so I figured going cross country for $850 was more than fair. Paying for packing was questionable since I had so much packed already but with all the past experiences I have had, I figured it was worth it in case of any problems. There have been NO problems (granted I'm not completely unpacked) and I've completely unpacked my kitchen/dining room boxes. Not one glass broken?except for the one I broke putting it into the dishwasher to clean it! The guys flew in, rented a truck and car trailer, brought packing supplies and got to my place in southern CA early Monday morning. Packing and loading the truck took longer than expected but Lamar and Jeff still managed to arrive in southeast CT by Friday around 5pm (they quoted 5 days of travel arriving on Saturday) so they were EARLY. Saved me a day on my rental car. They were responsive to my requests and worries, worked diligently and carefully. I forgot to check every cabinet (thought I did) and the medicine cabinet was not packed. Called and spoke with Christy who checked with the guys. They said it was possible they forgot it and if so, she said to let her know the cost of shipping it to me and they would reimburse me. Now, that's impressive. I told her not to worry about it. My only note: be even more precise about what to move (I didn't want to hover)?I have the oven's broiler pan and holder that I will send back to my landlord. I take that as my fault though. I can't speak highly enough of how professional Movers Direct was from the beginning until the end. Christy was flexible with my estimate, I asked and she gave me the 3 part estimate--it's locked in though so it's not really an estimate (an added bonus, no negotiating at the end, no worries about whether the weighing of the load was accurate etc). Anyway she gave me three quotes: 1) the move, 2) fee for packing, 3) fee for hauling car. I agreed to the move portion and gave her my downpayment. I then added at different times the packing and hauling. I asked if she wanted more for the deposit and she told me I was fine, not to worry about it. Another pleasant and appreciated aspect to doing business with Movers Direct. I have 90 days to make an insurance claim which is great but I'm pretty sure I won't need to do that. Lamar and Jeff did a fantastic job with the actual move. I have a few antique pieces that are heavy and fragile and there wasn't one problem with them. My china cabinet looks just like it did before they moved it (damaged from the previous move but nothing from this move). I have never had a move (and I've moved a LOT) go this well. Thank you, Movers Direct. I would use them again in a heartbeat?just hoping I won't have to do so?I'm tired of moving.

We were pleased with their work. Not a single thing was broken as far as we can tell. They took very good care of our belongings.

The movers arrived exactly on time, took their time loading, and delivered our furniture in SC next day. I was impressed that they had plenty of furniture blankets, tied off all furniture in thirds within the truck - this limited movement of our furniture during the trip. I could not be more pleased with their price, their professionalism, and how they took such great care of our furniture and fragile household items. I appreciate them taking their time and doing it right. The guys were pleasant, patient, and fun to work with. I have already recommended them to friends and will use them again if the need arises. We have moved several times in the last 10 years and this company is by far, the best movers we have ever hired.

Christy was excellent to work with. She is extremely responsive and pleasant. Daniel and his crew are excellent at packing, pleasant, appeared on time in all locations and are concerned about what you want. They made the move much easier.

Overall the move was good. Crew was punctual. The estimate was roughly 1,000 less than other companies moving with a 26' box truck. Three crewmembers were present for the move. The company does not do any kind of estimate, just bases its quotes on the size of your home. In our case they couldn't fix it all in 1 load, however I had planned on a small trailer for stuff such as lawnmower, grill, propane bottles, etc. In the end we filled the trailer as well and were able to get it all in 1 trip. So far with a couple of rooms unpacked, very little damage. Overall, compared to other moves we have done, this was one of the better moves we have experienced.

Christy called me back immediately and Movers Direct moved us from TX to CA. They were on time and had a great price. Daniel & his crew were fantastic & we had ZERO damages, which I have not had in the past. I liked it because they were the same crew to load & unload, and called me to see if they could unload a day early...which meant we could sleep in our own bed a night earlier. Daniel took great care in the set up of our Sleep Number Bed, which the previous movers had made lumpy, but he fixed it. The whole experience was the best!!

The three men arrived at the home in Mission Texas on time and immediately dismantled the grand piano. They also started loading the goods into their truck. It took 2 hours. They expected to deliver all to Haxtun late next day or at latest early next morning. A fierce snow storm blew in as they went North but they kept us informed of their progress. When they realized they could only drive at 16 miles per hour they wisely decided to stop for the night and resume the journey next day. Again we were fully informed. They did arrive when planned and in 4" of snow and temperatures 15 below. They quickly unpacked the truck, reassembled the piano even though their hands became very cold (unfortunately we could not provide hot coffee since we were moving into an empty house) and without any complaint completed the work. This is an excellent company. They are efficient, very knowledgeable about pianos and there was no damage nor losses. We recommend them very highly and will used them again.

Everything went well from first contact with Christy At Mover's Direct. She was pleasant, professional and explained the process to my satisfaction. The lead mover, Lamar, arrived at the designated time on Thursday, January 30th. There were a total of four workers who showed up at my townhouse apartment, and everything was loaded in two hours. My car was towed behind the truck. I was told that delivery in New Jersey would be on Monday, February 3rd. I received a call Sunday night confirming delivery time, and again they were right on time. Lamar and one other worker unloaded the truck and car quickly. I am extremely pleased with the service provided by Mover's Direct, and would highly recommend this family business.

I had a great experience with this company. Daniel, Tim and young Jeff were so nice and very helpful. I will definitely use this company again. All my items were in perfect shape when I unpacked them. They were more than willing to rearrange furniture if I needed them to. I have always packed and moved myself so this was a new experience for us and I can say it was great!

We had three exceptional men move us out if our home in Columbus, Ohio to our new home in Sun City, South Carolina January 4 - 5, 2014. Danny, Tim, and Cody made up the team. They were professional, pleasant, careful, and thorough. Our biggest concern was a glass curio cabinet 7 1/2 feet tall and 5 feet long and 3 feet deep. It made it here without a hitch! I recommend the with out any hesitation! Other movers quote us much higher prices and would not attempt to move some of our ideas. Direct Movers took care of everything. Kudos to the team that moved us! They were the best!

Everyone I dealt with from the office to the movers were top notch. It's so good to experience a carefree move at such a reasonable price. I would definitely use them again.

They were very careful, but there was minor damage. Frankly, I have never had a move where there was not something scratched or damage. This had less than most. The men working were very pleasant and worked very hard. I have no complaints about the effort involved on their part. Late on loading day, the head guy told me that they might not be able to get all the belongings on the truck. The cost of the move is estimated by square footage of the house, not a visual inspection. If that winds up being wrong, they do not stand behind the estimate they give you. Late in the day when they were loading, the head guy told me they might not be able to get all the belongings on the truck. They finally did, but if not, it would have cost me another $1000. That is no small problem when you are moving on a budget paying out of pocket. So this is the only concern I would share.

I was moving from Ohio to South Carolina and had to find a mover at the last minute due to the previous moving company falling through. These guys were great! They gave me a great deal at the last minute and were extremely professional. Christy, Tim and Jarod were all wonderful. Picked up my things on Saturday morning and dropped them off on Sunday morning. They didn't once give me the run around. The price they gave me was the price I paid. I will definitely use them again.

Without a hitch, beginning with the initial contact with Christy at Movers Direct. She epitomizes what everyone wants when calling a business for assistance with a project: knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and a great problem solver. The young men sent to complete our project, Rusty and James, were exactly the same. It is obvious that Movers Direct takes great care selecting their employees. They were aware of every detail; the yard when backing the truck in, the walls in the house as they moved items room to room or out to the truck, and to the care of the actual furniture and other items moved. They did that without any reminder from me. It was obvious that it came naturally to them. Also, there was absolutely no wasted time. They worked steadily, but at the same time graciously acknowledged comments and answered questions. We could not have been more impressed and pleased. I highly recommend this company and its employees.

We could not have been more please with the service provided by Movers Direct. We found them because they came highly recommended on Angie's List. Working with Mover's Direct was perfect from started to finish. Rusty did an amazing job as the leader and James, Cody and Ronnie were all professional and extremely hard working. They kept us informed of the progress throughout the packing and moving and were even moving ahead of schedule, so we were able to have everything delivered a day earlier than originally scheduled but Rusty and his crew made sure to again keep us informed and make sure that the new schedule worked with ours. I will recommend Mover's Direct to everyone I know and plan to use them again the next time we move. Best money we've ever spent!

EXCELLENT. From start to finish this is a professional, responsive company. I called them a few weeks prior to our intended move and got a quote as well as quotes from 5 other movers. Their prices were competitive AND they included $25K insurance (other quotes did not). Then we decided to make the move quickly because my husband is very ill and we wanted to get to Boston & have access to one of the best hospitals in the world. I called Movers Direct again on a SUNDAY and actually got a hold of a live person - Christy. Christy informed me that Movers Direct can be contacted 24/7. I told Christy that I wanted to move within days. She not only made this happen but we were out in THREE days. Christy handled this as though it happened every day (which I'm sure is not the case) with a helpful, positive, and professional attitude. This was just the beginning. On Wednesday afternoon 2 young movers - Lamar and Rusty showed up. These guys were just as professional as Christy. No nonsense and ready to work hard. We were moving some belongings to a storage unit and some to a new residence. No problem. They followed directions perfectly, separating our belongings as needed so they could be easily and quickly transferred when arriving in MA. They worked hard and CAREFULLY. Their dollies were kept outside the door and they carefully carried all of our belongings out, placed them on the dollies, and on the truck. All wooden furniture was wrapped with paper and cloth and all upholstered furniture was wrapped with cloth padding. They treated our furniture like it was priceless (and it wasn't). AND they were FAST...no talking, no joking around - all work! Very impressive. Lamar and Rusty showed up as planned on Fruday afternoon (two days later) and starting moving our belongings into our storage unit and residence. I asked them to move one of the mattresses we had at our residence into storage..no problem. I asked them to let me read what was on my boxes so I could decide where in storage I wanted them placed..no problem. I made a mistake and asked them to take a box out from the bottom of the pile and give it to me...no problem. These guys worked just as hard and fast upon arrival in MA as they did moving us out of CO (after making this drive in two days. They were FANTASTIC. You will not be sorry if you use this company. They are the best moving company I have EVER dealt with and I've used quite a few! FANTASTIC!
