Goddard Mobile Home Service

We initially booked Goddard Mobile Homes based on multiple positive reviews on the above mentioned moving help website. The money was paid in advance to the online company, and I was provided with a payment code to give the movers once the job was completed. My wife and I had used this website in the past for a previous move, and had had good results. We never received a call from Goddard Mobile Homes. Not one. (By comparison, the company we hired to help us unload at our destination in another state called us within 2 hours of booking them on the same website.) I called them about 7 days ahead of the scheduled move date to make sure everything was OK and they were aware they had a job booked. I'm not certain who specifically answered the phone, but there was no "hello", or anything to identify that I had, in fact, reached the right company. Just a "yeah?" very unprofessional. After confirming that I had, in fact reached Goddard, the man on the phone confirmed that he had me scheduled for a moving date that was a full 8 days later than the one specified during the booking (I double checked my reservations online just to be sure. He had the wrong date by over a week). Once we had the dates straightened out, and confirmed the time of the move as 10 AM, he took my number and said "My brother is the one that handles this stuff, he'll call you back". I never received a call back. ever. I did call a couple times to leave messages on the company voicemail, but none of them were ever returned. The day of the move, a Thursday, 10 AM came and went... I called and left 3 messages between 9:30 and 12:00. Not a single one was ever returned. I finally reached a lady on the phone around 1:00 pm. She said she didn't handle any of the moving stuff, and gave me a cell phone number to call, which put me back in touch with the original man I had spoken with. He simply said "Oh, my brother never called you? What's your number, I'll call him and have him call you back". Number provided again... No return call ever came. My wife and I packed a 26 foot moving truck by ourselves. Including a refrigerator and other heavy appliances. It took us about a day and a half, and delayed us arriving at our destination for our scheduled unloading with another moving company by a full day. I'm not sure why Goddard has so many positive reviews on movinghelp.com. As far as we are concerned, they are unprofessional, don't care about their company image, or the clients who arrange for them to provide services. If you're looking for movers to help you out, we recommend you look elsewhere.
