9We called Cottongim thinking the system we purchased less than a year ago was under warranty. We were charge 310 for service call and the issue was not fixed and required a 2nd trip and the thermostat was bad and then charged labor and for the thermostat. That should have been covered under warranty. They also charge for after hours on Saturday afternoon. We also were looking for a new install and they were doubled the price of anyone else in Tifton.
Description of Work: Cleaned coils and replaced thermostat.

This customer purchased a used system from us and yes there was a warranty on the units parts. They called us on a Saturday 8 months later and the system was dirty and needed cleaning. We cleaned the system and it was working fine when we left but they did call back and we didn't charge to come out. We found the thermostat was bad which was not installed with the system we installed, it was already there and was not covered under the unit warranty. We installed a new thermostat and they didn't want to pay for it so we took it down. I guess some people can't be pleased.....

They were prompt. I would recommend them to anyone. They always put shoe covers on and keep everything clean. They are a great company.

Our heater stopped working so I called Cottongim. I had a service contract with them and the technician "unstuck a float switch" which prevented the unit from turning on. I told him I didn't understand that because the unit was in heat mode with hot gas going through the evaporator coil so no condensation was being forming which needed to be drained thus, the float switch was not being moved...? $158 dollars to unstick a float switch... I had a blower duct test performed almost 11 months ago and was very well satisfied with the service, explanation and price but this last service call was disappointing.

We appreciate the feedback and apologize for any miscommunication. Most split system air/heat combinations have a condensate drain that we install a p-trap in just like under a sink. This allows the system to drain properly. Sometimes during the winter when the drain is sitting idle it gels or sludge's and blocks the drain. As spring approaches and we start having cold nights and warm days sometimes we need the air condition during the day. All it takes is a run cycle of 20 minutes and water begins to flow into the drain. We design the safety overflow prevention to cut the system off. So in this case the safety did its job all though the heating is still being used as temperatures fluctuate so drastically in the south. I really wish the customer would have called me to discuss this matter. Thanks to Angie's List I will be contacting the customer to follow up with his concerns. Thanks, Colt Anderson-Owner

Several options were given to correct the condition with what I believe was an honest informed recommendation. Chris was very knowledgeable, friendly and was a pleasure to deal with.
Description of Work: A duct leakage test was performed to try to diagnose some condensation issues under the house.
