Magnolia Lawn

We started with routine mowing/edging and they often over-billed and a couple of times didn't show up as scheduled, but we had just started service and dismissed it as a rough start. We also hired them to do a large project to clear some brush, but they didn't show up, then rescheduled, then part of the group didn't show up, and so on. It took three days to complete what was supposed to be done in one day, ate up a lot of our time with scheduling and re-scheduling with them, and messed up our work schedules. Following this, they mis-billed, and after contacting them multiple times to get it corrected, we still never received a corrected bill until I called and talked to a manager who adjusted the amount, took my payment over the phone (months ago) and assured me there would be no further issues. Today I just found an $8 item on my credit report from them sent to their collections company, and this was an adjustment amount. Why after months would they send something for $8 when they could pick up the phone and call? They were paid back in October 2016 when I made my final phone call. I also want to add further detail. This company tore up part of my lawn with the large tires on their mower which they drive too quickly in their rush to get done. I talked to one of the workers and they said they're over-booked, rushed, stressed, and one man, a military vet with back issues, is put on some of the hardest jobs because he gets them done, in spite of multiple incidents with his back when he asked for an opportunity to do more supervisory work for his health. He eventually moved to a different company.

They came and told me what they were going to do. They explained everything and I thought they were very thorough.

I decided to try Magnolia after reading their reviews on Angie's List. Though the people are very nice, accommodating and supportive, the results were not. Lawn looked no better, and actually worse after applications. Even after coming back, results were the same. I have since switched to another lawn service and the results, after just one application, are amazing. I'm pretty easy to please and don't have unrealistic expectations, but when weeds are still out of control after multiple attempts, something is wrong.

They came out to do an estimate and then after we agreed on a price I scheduled them. They told me they would be out the following Wednesday. Once I got home on Wednesday I instantly realized they had not come out to mow the lawn. I called them the following morning to see what happened. They just told me that they couldn't come out because they were backed up. They would be out by at least Friday. I was really upset by this because we had agreed on a date and no one even bothered to contact me to let me know. Finally they came out that Friday and did a horrible job. The lawn was still long and there were patches and parts where the grass was not cut at all just folded over! I called them and asked what had happened. I spoke to the man who came out to cut it and he told me that he had cut a foot off the lawn and that it was fine. My grass was obviously not even a few inches shorter, let alone a foot! He then told me the grass was too hard to cut because it was still wet from the rain the day before. I again stated I should have been contacted if they could not perform the job properly. He said they could come out again if I wanted. I asked them to come out again to fix it but I was not going to pay extra for it. He agreed. They came the following week and it was not any better. When I called to speak to the man again, I was just given a run around and was told they would put in a service request. They came out and only edged the lawn, they didn't mow anything!!! I was thoroughly disappointed with them. I had another company come out last week and they got the grass short with the first pass of the mower and it had just rained the night before! Obviously Magnolia did not know what they were doing. I won't be calling them again.

They have been responsive. We've used them for several years.

Jorge and Zach arrived on time and checked in with me for final instructions before they began. They cleaned all of the debris (dead leaves, branchs, etc) out of the lawn, cut and edged the grass, spread mulch and pinestraw to increase a bed in the front yard. The yard looks fantastic! I will be using Magnolia for a few other jobs I have planned, as well as weekly maintenance. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I liked the salesperson and the technician that serviced my lawn, they were polite and professional. Over the course of a year, there were 7 scheduled applications. I called them out about twice to come back because the weeds did not appear to be going away. They came out and sprayed a couple times unscheduled on their own as well. There was a little improvement, but I was expecting more progress over a year. Just after the last freeze, as soon as the first plants started to bloom, my yard was immediately covered with the weeds. I thought they were supposed to spray pre-emergent to protect against this. I had them come out and re-spray and it seemed to do nothing. About a week later I got a letter from my homeowners association requesting that I "Please take action to remove and control the weeds in your lawn" and requiring me to submit documentation to them and go through a bunch of hoops. I did not think this would be the outcome a year later. I called Magnolia and cancelled future service and they just said "OK, thanks". I had much higher expectations.

Agreement was for lawn service to cut grass, blow leaves AND weed and maintain flower beds. There were two plans and the more expensive plan($94 per service) was specifically chosen for the flower and plant bed maintenance. We even agreed on an additional plan for Magnolia to maintain the plants themselves (8 times a year.) The 2 man crew cut the grass and blew some of the leaves in a pile at the back of the property. The rest were left alone. To my knowledge no leaves were blown out of the plant beds and no weeding was done. When they presented me with the bill, I pointed out that the service Adam and I agreed upon was not done at which point they went back, blew a few more leaves around the yard and left. I called the next day to cancel both services, When I was asked if I wanted a call back from Adam to discuss, I responded only if he would or could justify charging me for the services we agreed upon but were not performed. I never received a response, so I assume he had no answer. Since the property looked the same or even worse than before they came out, I hired another lawn service to do what I was led to believe Magnolia would do in the first place. I am completely disappointed in this company, which i selected solely on the basis of reviews on Angie's List, and I feel that the $94 I am sending them is a complete waste of money.

Met with provider to receive an estimate. Andrew was a nice guy and we discussed the work needed. We agreed on bushes trimmed, lawn weeded and pine straw installed, along with some other details. Was given the price of $360, which I thought was an average price for service needed. I called and set up an appointment to have the service performed the following Tuesday. When I arrived from work nobody had shown, no call. I called and they said they were sorry and they would come out Friday. Friday came, so I called that afternoon to check. They said the person scheduled to perform the work called in sick and they could probably come out the following Monday since they had lawns to maintain in my area. Monday came and nobody showed and nobody called. I called and they said they would definitely come out that week at some point, no later than Friday, possibly Tuesday. When I received no call Tuesday I became annoyed and just canceled service altogether. If I had received some communication letting me know what the plan was I could accept that, but nobody ever called with updates and I just had the feeling they were not interested. It's frustrating waiting for a job to be completed and then come home with nothing completed and no phone call. I decided I did not want to deal with the hassle and moved on to another service provider.

It was good and we are happy with it. We chose them because of price and responsiveness as a company. It is $75 per service.

I am very pleased with this company. I took a chance and contacted them based on the "A" rating I saw and so far have been impressed with their service. When they come out to discuss any possible work I want done or issues with the lawn, they actually listen to what I have to say and don't try to push needless products. They also make sure I understand what they are talking about, but don't talk down to me. My yard was in terrible condition yet after only about two to three months, I can already see a huge difference. The flower beds also turned out much better than I expected and are wonderful. Now my lawn and landscaping are something I am proud of. It also makes me very happy to know the lawn service crew hired by the HOA for our subdivision are not happy because Magnolia is making them look bad. The HOA lawn service crew have been working on the lawns for over three years and most of the lawns continuously have large brown patches, dead areas, moss, weeds, etc. My lawn used to be included in that group, but no longer. Amazing how when someone who knows what they are doing comes along, things can get turned around for the better pretty fast. Will definitely continue to use this company's services and have also recommended them to friends and family.

I did not like them. At first they were eager to do the job for me so I hired them. They came to spray the weeds but after two weeks the weeds were still here. We called them to tell them about this issue, so they sprayed them again but the weeds remained. Now they started giving us excuses why the weeds would not go away. The weeds are still here but I am not calling them again.

They showed up on time and completed the work with no issues. I also use them for weekly mowing, leaf removal, pine straw, lawn treatment, etc. They are very nice to deal with and are very responsive.

Scheduling was easy and they came when they said they would.

They did good work and gave good service, but they were expensive. If they lowered their prices, I would definitely use them again.

Magnolia Lawn has done an outstanding job of transforming our weed patch to a lush, healthy lawn. We moved to our Flowery Branch home in early 2012. Although the landscaping had been maintained, other than cutting and trimming, the lawn was a mass of weeds and had been neglected for years. We tried treating the lawn ourselves throughout 2012 with dismal results. In early 2013, a Magnolia lawn analyst looked at our lawn, gave us a written report of the particular weeds and problems of our lawn and a suggested schedule of weed, feed, and aeration treatments. We followed up with a telephone call to ask some additional questions and the analyst promised we would see a noticeably improved lawn by summer (this was early spring). He was not lying. If anything, he understated the transformation. Within a few months, we had lush green, weed-free grass. Once we felt the treatment had been rained out; we called magnolia Lawn - the request for re-treatment was done promptly, courteously and at no charge. Many of our neighbors use a different lawn service but several commented on how beautiful our lawn was after only three treatments from Magnolia Lawn. We cannot say enough good things about Magnolia Lawn, we certainly would recommend them to anyone wishing to improve or maintain the quality of their lawn and we will certainly be signing up for another year of treatment with them.

All of the services that Magnolia Lawn has provided have been excellent! The Specialists arrive early and get right to work. The Specialists are professional, very informative and they listen to our requests! My husband is very picky about the care of the lawn, however, he has commented on the great job that Magnolia Lawn is doing. They make suggestions that they feel will enhance the beauty of our lawn, but they do not push you to do anything that you are not comfortable doing. The cost for each service seems reasonable. The lawn treatments have made our lawn look better than it has looked in years. We are very pleased with the level of service we have gotten!

Overall the service is good. If I have any issues they comeback and fix the problem. They don't let bad weather get in the way.

My lawn weeds were growing fast and they came and flip the situation in about 2 months... now I have lawn and it is growing beautifully... I would recommend this company. In other hand - Their price is not the best in the market.

I have only had to contact them a couple times but when I have they are extremely professional and polite. They fix the problem and/or answer any questions right away?

I used to have a lawn service I wasn't happy with so I discontinued use. After a couple of years, weeds had overtaken my lawn, so I shopped around for a provider and went with Magnolia Lawn. In no time, my lawn was looking good and the weeds were under control. I was pleased enough to renew for a second year. They come when it's time for a treatment and leave information about what they did and any instructions I may need to know. They do offer other services for shrubs and aeration, but they never call to bother me about purchasing additional services as others have in the past. They do 8 treatments instead of 7 as many do, and their pricing is competitive. You can pay per treatment, but I take advantage of the discount for paying for the year in advance. They offer to come out and retreat if there is a problem, but I have never needed them to.

I have had them for over a year now. I really don't see the man too often, but they seem to be doing a very good job. My lawn just looks great!

We had used another service but was not happy. The weeds just were not being eliminated. Magnolia's initial visit was to determine and assess what needed to be done. We have 2 types of grass in the backyard and they advised us as to how they can remove the one type of grass and let the other take over so everything is consistent. The employee was very professional.

They come out 8 times a year and the service is wonderful and they always leave a report. They are always dressed well and my yard has never looked better. The only thing is they do not offer organic fertilizer.
