The roofing was done improperly in several ways: old vents were to be removed, but were not, so the job had to be patched after the fact. Worse, the shingles were not made to overhang properly, allowing water to flow between gutters and house. When we pointed this out, a crew came out and hammered flashing on the edge of the roof, leaving very unsightly metal showing all around the house. The shingles on the porch were installed so far apart that flashing is visible from the top (the project manager said it was not as good a job as it should have been, but was quite functional!) Having had Houseworth back four separate times, each time with a new (and often obviously inexperienced) crew of roofers, we finally gave up. We would definitely NOT hire them again.

They were highly rated online which is why I went with them. They were very responsive. They came when I needed them to. They still took it on even though it was a small job. I would use their services in the future too.

I was not happy with the service but the representative called me back to apologize and finally sent me the quote. Hence I changed my review of this company. It was a misunderstanding and the company made right by calling to apologize and sending me the quote.

I was extremely pleased with the job overall and have already recommended them to friends and coworkers. Richard Anderson was my service rep and he was very professional and pleasant to work with. Richard came to my house originally because of a drainage problem that I thought was originating from a gutter issue. He advised me that he thought that I needed a drain box added to my landscaping rather than a gutter change. (This turned out to be correct). I liked him so much that while he was there I had him estimate the exterior paint job. I had already had another estimate, but Housworth beat it by almost $300. I waited 4 months after the estimate before I was able to afford to get the work done. I emailed Richard that I was ready and the next day he had Jennifer from the main office call me to get me on the schedule for the following week. On the first day, Aaron (head of the paint crew) and one other guy did the pressure washing. They did all the work of removing (and reinstalling) the window screens, unlike my last painter. This was nice since there are 50+ windows and it can be time consuming. Richard came later in the day to make sure everything was going smoothly and to go over the details of the small interior jobs with Aaron. Richard also helped me resolve a couple of other handyman type issues while he was there at no extra charge (not on the original contract). The painting started on the 2nd day, and the entire job took 4 days. There were 4 to 6 guys working at any given time on the painting. I worked from home the entire first day and then half days on the 2nd and 3rd days. By then I had gotten comfortable with Aaron and his crew and trusted them with a key to my house. They did a great job and a few neighbors have commented that they thought it looks great.

Overall an excellent experience. Showed up when they said they would show up, detailed and reasonable estimate (not the lowest, not the highest) and high quality work. Once we agreed on the bid, project started one week later as promised and took exactly one week to complete (even with a torrential rain storm in the middle). Project Manager, Richard, was a pleasure to work with. When he came out to provide the estimate he spent two hours on site and brought the crew foreman (June) who would be doing the work so that I got to meet him. The three of us had a clear and consistent understanding of the work to be done. They took many pictures of the areas on the roof which would need work and we reviewed everything together so there were no surprises. Estimate was comprehensive with lots of specifics and photos. Crews were very courteous and kept a clean job site. Covered all plants etc where they were working. Cleaned up each day. Richard kept a very close eye on the entire project. Came at the end to do a walk through of everything and he wanted to ensure my complete satisfaction. There were a couple of gutters which had become dented from their ladders and Richard scheduled their gutter crew to come and replace them - without me asking for it. They also repaired several cracked/broken shingles they found on the roof at no additional cost. Project went as well as it could possibly go. Very pleased with the results. Would use Housworth again without hesitation.

Poor. To not show up is disrespectful.

I hired Houseworth since i had so much work that needed to be done and I was not able to be there the entire time the workers were there, They gave me a proposal for everything that included a supervisor that was to order all materials, accept deliveries, monitor workers and insure quality. Once the work was started, I found out that they subcontracted most of the work -- something I could have done my self for less money, but the inclusion of a supervisor to manage the project, I felt it would be worth the price difference of the individual quotes I had received. As it turned out, the "supervisior" showed up at the house 1 or 2 times each day for about 15 minutes each time. The roofers they hired were very good and concientious. They cleaned up everything and were very careful to cover all plants and beds to make sure shingles didnt get in them when they were removed. I was told that some waves where the rooflines met were normal and would go away as the shingles heated up. They are still there. The carpenter was not as good. Since the supervisor from houseworth was not there when he was working, many items were missed and shoddy work would have been covered up if I had not been around to monitor the work. I talked to the Houseworth rep about his lack of supervision and he said that he was scheduled to do another job across town and apologized and would try to get to my job more often and would make sure to be there when new workers came on the job to make sure everything would be done correctly. After that, I stayed at home as much as possible to monitor the activity. I was out when the gutter guys came. When I arrived, the Houseworth rep had not gotten there and the gutter guys were fabricating the gutters and getting ready to put them up. The only problem was that they were the wrong color - by a LOT. They insisted that the color was what I picked out. Luckily, I saved the sample given to me and showed it to them. They didn't have that color any more. The problem was that the exterior of the house had already been painted (to match the color of the gutter I picked out). When they called Houseworth to find out what to do, the supervisor said he was on the north side of town and couldnt come down until the afternoon. We finally found a gutter color that was fairly close to the paint color and it was faricated and installed. Overall, if I had to do it again, I would not have paid extra to use houseworth because the service was not what they had promised. For some things, The quality of their subcontractors was very good, and for others, not so good. I rated then low for professionalism since they did not deliver on what they had promised in their sales proposal.

This was a great overall set of repairs by Housworth Roofing and Construction. Richard provided a very professional quote process and was present during the repair providing great project / customer management. Very happy with the outcome and very much appreciated Richard's handling of the projects. Will use them again if we have any more house repairs / construction / landscaping work. Highly recommend this company given the care and workmanship.

Richard from Housworth came to our house the day after I called to look at our house and to give us an estimate. When we had specific questions, he came again to our house to make sure all questions were answered (this was before he knew if he had the job or not). He gave us a very detailed description of the work that was going to be performed, and all happened just as we were told (which doesn't always happen with other contractors!). The follow-up was excellent and everyone that came to the house was extremely courteous and efficient. Excellent job overall - will highly recommend Housworth in the future!

The work was preformed to my great satisfaction! Even with the storm and traffic Jason made it to my house.

This was my first experience using Angie's List. In fact, I subscribed so that I could seek out "A" rated businesses for both my painting and roofing project. After getting bids from 3 companies for the roof as well as painting, I decided to go with Housworth. Their bid was very competitive with others. In a few cases, less than their competitors. I chose Housworth because of their personal approach to doing business. During the bidding and negotiation process, Richard was excellent. He made multiple trips to my home to discuss in detail everything that I was looking for in this project. I most appreciated the itemized contract he and Housworth drew up. There was no possible way for any misunderstanding of "unexpected" expenses. For me, this was a sign to me of a reputable company and certainly reinforced their "A" rating on Angie's List. The roofing project went very quickly and they did an excellent job of keeping the yard neat during the process. This project was scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, October 18th and would you believe they were on time just as they said they would be? They were. Total roofing project was completed in less than 1 day. Excellent job. I also appreciated that during this entire project, Richard as the foreman, was on site. Repeatedly he kept me informed of where they stood with the project and what they were doing throughout the day. As mentioned above, I also used Housworth for the exterior painting. Again, an excellent experience. Aaron led the painting crew and did a great job of keeping everything on track. My home had quite a bit of rotten trim work and all of this was replaced and properly caulked before painting. Four full days of work and my home looks better than it did when I purchased 10 years ago. To give you an idea of how this company goes above and beyond to please, Aaron returned after the project was complete to replace misc. items in my garage which was also painted. The garage floor needed a day to dry and he offered to do this. Certainly not a responsibility of his but a good example of how Housworth truly puts the customer first. As you can see, I am most pleased. Their level of professionalism is rare to find today and I can assure you that I will be using them for future projects.

They performed all work and were professional for the most part. They did good work but were our most expensive estimate.

He talked a lot. He got up on the roof and told me much more information about his company than he should have. In my opinion the estimate was way too high. He spent more time talking than working.

It went through insurance. They are extremely friendly, easy to work and very responsive. They finished within one day, they cleaned up everything - I didn't notice any nails or anything like that around my property when they finished. Their prices seemed to be in line with everyone else I talked to. Overall, it was a good experience and I would use them again.

I was very happy with this company. We have had a leak in our kitchen for about 5 years, with a couple of unsuccessful attempts at repair. We've had a couple of good rains since Housworth did their thing, and it has not leaked! I'm very optimistic that they have finally fixed it. They also ended up replacing 3 attic fans- who knows how long they haven't worked! The fans have made the house seem cooler.

They were very professional from estimate through cleanup. We are very happy with the finished roof.

The entire process was excellent. The estimate was done in a timely fashion and all my questions were completely answered in an understandable fashion. The two crews arrived exactly as promised, did their work quietly and competently, and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend this company to others.

Richard, the sales guy, was very knowledgeable and very open with the details of the pricing. They were very competitively priced. They did an excellent job with the roof. They were fast, cleaned up behind themselves, and did a great job.

It went very well. They were timely and did everything they said they were going to do.

They quoted me $3500. They wanted $400 extra for something else that I wanted done. They were higher than the company that I ended up using. It took a while for this company to come out. They were punctual. They were matter of fact and didn’t seem overly interested. They were friendly and confident. I expected them to be more enthusiastic. I wanted to think that they needed the business. The person, who came out was very pleasant and professional. He adjusted to my schedule. However, he never called back. There was no followup. I will consider this company in the future.

Everything went great. They did a good job. Their pricing was very reasonable and they did a good quality job. They did the whole job in basically one day.

Replacing a roof can be a very stressful undertaking. They made it as smooth a process as this type of major project could possibly be. From the first meeting with Richard, when he was there to give me an estimate I felt that this company cared about their customers. I had a leak in my ceiling, and he repaired it for me, while he was there, for a very minimal charge. Of course, I still needed a roof replacement as I had extensive hail damage. He took many measurements and digital photos on that first visit, and emailed them all to me with a detailed estimate. When I called to say I wanted to move forward with the project, he met at my home with my insurance adjuster and completely went over all the proposed issues. Materials and dumpster container were delivered as promised on Monday. Work commenced first thing in the morning on Tuesday, with Richard making sure all details were tended to as they began work. All shrubs and fixtures were covered with tarps, as well as everything in my attic. The main house was completed by 6 p.m. that same day, and the shed was done by 1 p.m. the following day. The container was then picked up and hauled off the next day . When they left my house each day every bit of trash, nails and material was removed from my property. I would highly recommend this company, and would certainly use them again.

I got quotes from 2 different roofers recommended by Angies list. Houseworth was a bit more than the other but I had a better impression with their service.

On October 28, 2009 Michael Ingalsbe of Housworth Roofing & Construction came to my home to inspect my roof which was in need of repairs and my interior ceilings which needed painting. He assurred me he would have an estimate for the needed work within two days. One week later on November 4, 2009, I called Mike to see why I had not received an estimate. He apologised and assured me I would have an estimate the next day. As I submit this report , seven months later on May 12, 2010, I have yet to hear from Mike or any other representative of Housworth Roofing & Construction. Needless to say, the work has been performed by another contractor.
