Description of Work: I called to have our dishwasher repaired. The tech overstated his expertise and took damaging shortcuts. First, he left open a line under the sink, so when we rinsed dishes that night, all of the dirty water flooded our cabinet and then flowed down into the basement playroom. Ick. A total mess. We cleaned everything and demanded he return that night to cap the line, which he did. Lots of apologies. Then, in the process of trying to install a new tube incorrectly, the tech broke a different, significant part of the dishwasher and tried to pass it off. I was there when it happened and knew something had gone wrong. In trying to resolve the issue, we were stuck because it turned out the tech is actually the owner, though in casual conversation at our initial estimate, he lied about that - he wanted to create the illusion of being a larger company. The owner denied any error, but I researched the new problem he had created and learned that this particular part can't break from use - only by force. It was so awful, the dishwasher manufacturer paid to send a 3rd party, certified repair company out to take a look. ONLY after that 3rd party sent photos to document the damage caused by forcing a part off with a screwdriver did the A1 Appliance owner admit what he had done. He then tried to cover it up with an excuse, which the manufacturer and 3rd party company explained was mechanically impossible. After THREE weeks, we were out our initial costs, and A1 Appliance had the nerve to want to charge us to fix what he had broken. Aside from his breach in trust and ethics, the part he broke requires a total rebuild of the dishwasher - about the cost of buying a new one, but not new. So, we finally ditched A1, bought a new dishwasher, and had a reputable company install it.

Description of Work: My Sub-Zero Mdl 550 had ice forming on the back left panel of the refrigerator section. Dean came out ran diagnostics and said it needed to be recharged with refrigerant. Didn't think there was a leak just that it was time for servicing the unit after 5-10 years. Today (11/24/2015) I noticed ice forming on the refrigerator back panel as before. Have called them to come service the unit on 11/30 1PM. They are sending Marcel, the senior technician. Stay tuned to hear what transpires.

Description of Work: I called this company but it appears that they have some overseas message service which promised to call me back but never did. I ended up calling them again and again some foreigner checked the call records and then remarked that they did not undertake water heater repairs. They wasted my whole day without even a follow up call or an apology. I am still without hot water. I don't think this company is the same as a year ago. I will not call on them again.

+ -1 morePoor professionalism, but got the job done. The repairman arrived over 1 hour late. I saw his car pull up to my house, but he was on the phone for a personal call for 15 minutes -- I had to get his attention before he got off the phone. He then completed the repair (no problems -- it had cost me approx $79 - the same, with another company in the past), but didn't tell me. I found him on the phone for a personal call again, and had to tell him to write up the invoice and leave. A simple 10 minute job turned into 3 hours of waiting, 10 minutes of work, and 30 minutes of the repairman on the phone for personal calls. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO OTHERS.

They did need to go and get the part they needed and when they were on their way back, they gave me a phone call to let me know that they were coming. It took less than a day to get the job done and I am very pleased with their overall work.

I was then connected to the service technician who knew exactly what I needed and was familiar with my brand of appliance. They made the appointment for the same day and called back to advise me of a slight delay in the arrival time due to the necessity to pick up the part. Once he arrived the replacement was handled efficiently and quickly and I was completely satisfied. I also appreciated the $15 Internet coupon.
