He also goes by Lighthouse home repairs. He was very professional and prompt and did a great job as well as cleaned up afterwards. He also hung a towel hanger and fixed a broken brushed nickel tissue hanger which I thought I had to replace..saving me another $20.

John installed a grab bar and a shower head in my bathroom as well as handled weather stripping on a door. He was professional, considerate and showed a sincere concern for making sure the job was done correctly and to quality standards. He went to Home Depot and brought several options in my home to choose from. I could not have chosen better if I had gone myself. I was most impressed with the quality of his work and the efficient manner in which he completed the project. I highly recommend this company if you are interested in any home projects requiring a professional, affordable, and quality handy man. I had a door to the guest bathroom that was binding so much at the top that the door would no longer close. I use Home Advisor for just about all my home repair needs and went online for an estimate. I received a call from Dave (the owner) and we agreed (I thought) on a time for someone to come by and give an estimate. Bob came by today and was basically ready to work. I told him I did not have an estimate and he indicated I would still have to pay for a ""service" call. Well, long story short, I decided this may have been a communication problem on my end, and since the gentleman seemed qualified and offered a fair price, we moved forward with the work. Result, an excellent outcome, and a guest door that works perfectly. My advice in dealing with Mr. Handyman, have a clear understanding before someone comes by to talk to you. The door works perfectly now, and Bob did a very good job.

I had two outdoor columns that had water damage. Great work. Took longer than expected but they stayed true to their quote. Really friendly and did a thorough job.

The project was to repair wood rot above and on the sides of the front door. The initial upper limit cost estimate for the job was $899 plus $185 materials. Midway through the project, I found that the workman was not replacing some damaged panel materials. I asked him about it, and he said replacing them would add up to $300. I asked him to add this to the work. When the work was done, his bill was $2,392 including taxes. The repair was well done. But the final bill was nearly double what I had believed. I paid the bill, but I am left feeling taken advantage of badly. Is this what folks in this line of work normally do? What is the responsibility of HomeAdvisor in these cases? I thought an important function of HomeAdvisor was to police the business practices of the contractors it recommends.
