Description of Work: Added additional cabinets for kitchen remodel. Charlie and his team were great, I could not have asked for a better experience. They matched our existing cabinets exactly, the quality was exceptional and they showed up when they said. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: This was excellent craftsmanship. The advise and the materials used were top of the line. Crippen Woodworks was on board with the special design and knew and executed the construction to meet all codes. There were several special requests and they met all of these request. They were not satisfied until it met there standards which were the same of higher than mine. I am hard to please but Crippen Woodworks out did me on this project.

Description of Work: I had signed up for a special deal of "$75 for custom kitchen design, including plans, measurements, and 3-D renderings". I scheduled an appointment and Mr. Crippen came to my house to take measurements and discuss my interests and options. He said he would be back in touch when he had worked up the plan. I told him to take his time; I was not in a hurry. Two months passed and I had not heard back from him, so I contacted him for an update. When he contacted me back, he said that he had been swamped with work from this special offer, and had not been able to get to my plan. When I asked when he could get to it, he said that he would be unable to do the work, and suggested that I take a refund. I was refunded the money that I paid.

Description of Work: I contacted Charlie in response to a Special advertised in Angie's list for a kitchen remodeling estimate, including a 3-D sketch. Charlie was very professional. He had to reschedule the first appointment, which was fine, and he arrived right on time on the second date. His sketch(es) were very appealing. He followed up exactly as he said he would, providing estimates on appliances, etc. We felt his pricing was very fair, but decided not to go ahead with the project since we have other home expenditures that need to take priority. I liked the fact that Charlie did what he said he would do, and that he seems to be very organized, and has attention to detail. He is an experienced contractor and was willing to oversee the job even if we did not purchase his custom cabinetry. I would feel very confident hiring him to do the job. When we decide to go ahead with our project, I would definitely call him again.

Description of Work: Charlie worked with us for weeks to get the high gloss cabinet refacings we wanted from the right vendor. We were very pleased with the results, including on-the-spot repairs of cabinet interiors at a reasonable price.I will be calling Charlie again whenever we need cabinets or other woodworking.

Description of Work: Charlie and his crew removed the island in our kitchen and custom built a larger one. I tend to be a detail person and Charlie and Greg were very patient with me. Charlie said it would take three days to complete and it took three days. The cabinets were built in his shop and were ready to assemble when they arrived on Tuesday. They demolished the old island and installed the new one, including the electrical contractor completing the electrical. On Wednesday, the granite fabricator was here at 8:30AM and installed the granite. I was able to start putting things away. The seal for the sink installation had to sit for 24 hours. On Thursday the plumber came to connect the water, dishwasher, etc., and the job was done except for some minor things. Each day, when the Crippen Woodworks crew left, everything was cleaned and left in great condition. The men were so nice and were patient with my many questions. I would definitely use this company again and would certainly recommend them. They quality is excellent, better than the cabinets they removed.

+ 1 moreAlthough Mr. Crippen was initially hired to install cabinets that I purchased from Home Depot, I asked him if he was able to oversee the complete operation of remodeling the kitchen, since I lived out of town. He handled the complete job including hiring all necessary sub contractors. The house is a late 1940's era home, requiring a knowledgeable contractor who was able to solve problems as they arose during the remodeling process. Mr Crippen was able to handle the whole process without problems. In addition to his contracting ability, he is a nice person and is easy to talk to. Without any reservations I would recommend him.
Description of Work: Charlie Crippen's work is superb. He is ethical, punctual, his work is well-priced, and what else is there to say!

+ 1 moreThe entire experience was extremely professional. Charlie and crew are true craftsmen and a pleasure to work with. Every commitment from coming out for the estimate to completing the work was keep. I had three estimates. I chose Crippen because Charlie was the only one who: 1) explained to me why my old railing was falling apart, 2) suggested laying the decking diagonally to prevent raised edges at the joins of horizontal decking as it ages, and 3) made a point of telling me that everything would be done to code. The end result is sturdy enough to hold a truck and looks fantastic.
Description of Work: Charlie basically rebuilt my deck. The deck is about 16’ high. All of the old rusting steal support posts were replace with wood, completely rebuilt the two flights of stairs and landing that lead to the backyard, replaced all of decking and all of the railing.

+ 2 moreA custom front porch post and adjoined rail were rotting at the connection. Also a ballister was rotting at its base. Several contractors and carpenters provided opinions that the rail, post and ballister would need to be milled, cost prohibitive to us. This rail was 10 ft long and one of a two -rails entryway spanning 12 steps up to a long Southern front porch, also wrapped around with this same style of railing and ballisters. Perfect match was essential. Charlie and his asst, Nathan, milled the post at a local mill, created the custom rail at our house and installed them.They also repaired a custom ballister: replacing its base, and reinstalling it to the porch railing. The end result was a perfect match. We were advised to allow the cedar to age a few wks before painting. My husband commented on the problematic carpenter bees, so Charlie added a thin coat of stain to keep the pests at bay for the interim. When I asked about warranty, Charlie reminded me he is nearby to call anytime. His price was within the quoted estimate. Cleanup was thorough and they were professional throughout. Charlie is skilled, knowledgeable and professional . We were most satisfied.
Description of Work: Custom front porch rail and post replacement and custom ballister repair. Arrived when promised, performed the job efficiently, and final result was perfect. Cost was within estimate, and cleanup was thorough.

Several times he took an idea I had and completely created exactly what I had in my minds eye. Did over and above what I asked for. He is very, very talented and I would trust him to build anything for me.
Description of Work: I had everything done from building a new pergola outside in an outdoor kitchen, rebuilt my deck, built new railings on the deck, rebuilt my front porch with new columns, rebuilt and refinished my pool house, stained all the wood outside, built custom cabinets in my bedroom, built a custom window seat in my bedroom, built custom kitchen cabinets, built custom cabinet in living room, built a custom mantel in my living room, did some regular carpentry repair on my house inside and out, built a outdoor storage barn, you name it they've worked on it.
