I have to call them back out to repair before the year's warranty is up. I wouldn't use them again. He wasn't yellig but he was trying to convinve me that I was wrong. I wouldn't bother to use them again.

You can't go wrong with Southern Specialty. Rod Hollbrook, the owner, and his crew are great. It's a pleasure to work with a company that values the integrity of their work and customer satisfaction. I think that says it all.

It went great. They were on time and very quick. The work looked great and they did exactly what was asked of them. When complete they cleaned up everything and made it look like they were never there. My wife liked that a lot. Will definitely use them again on upcoming projects.

Excellent experience, workers were efficient, respectful and thorough. Workmen arrived early and stayed late until the job was complete. The owner Rod and his Project Manager Troy were on site to make sure everything was done to my expectations. All areas were thoroughly cleaned after the job was complete. I would highly recommend Southern Specialty to anyone who needs work done. This is a class act company.

Got a call the day before to confirm, the crew showed up on time the following day and finished all work the same day. The quality of work was excellent, the crew was very professional. Overall great experience, would use them again without any debate.

The work went smoothly. The owner Rod Holbrook and his Project Manager Troy came to the house prior to the job starting to ensure we talked about the job and talked about the details and any questions. They took care of getting the building permit and dumpster. From demo to completion the crew was professional and on time. They kept the job site clean as the project progressed and took care not to damage our ornamental flowers. There were one or two issues that popped up doing the project, which is expected during a project of this size, but they were resolved promptly by Troy. The project took a little over two weeks to complete. Lastly, the crew can be trusted alone in the house as I had to leave the crew in the house during the final touch up painting. Integrity from top to bottom at Southern Specialty.

The room looks beautiful. Just like on one of the home improvement shows. The window has to be special ordered. It's now my favorite room in the house. The ceiling is flawless. We got ride of the stamp on the ceiling. I look forward to working with this company in the future.

I purchased the Big Deal for $59 in order that I could get someone to come out and give me a price estimate on 4 small roof leaks. I purchased on 30 January 2016 and the gentleman came the following day, a Sunday. The company is local so it was convenient for him and me. He was one of three companies that came out. I decided to go with another company. His price estimate was very comparable to the company I went with.

It was a wonderful and stress free experience. They took pictures and walked me through everything they were doing. They were very courteous. When they got here, they found problems that the original builder created/missed in the building of the house. They did GREAT work and did not waste anytime getting the job done.

It turned out okay. He did a good job. He did what I asked them to do. It was helpful. He has a timeline where he contacts you and that worked out well. It went fairly well. He charged me a little extra because he said I had a leak. He also said my roof was steep. It's not leaking and that's my main concern. He did what he was supposed to do.

Everything went very well. Rod and the crew were very courteous and did a fantastic job. This is a top notch contractor that we have used many times for many different projects. We are very satisfied and we will be using them in the future.

SSC came to my house to take a look at the work that needed to be done. Before leaving, they said I should expect a written estimate. After a couple weeks of not receiving an estimate, I called and left messages but received no reply.

They seemed okay but we just didn't use them. There was no additional cost. They were fine. The worker was good.

This transaction marked my first experience buying an Angie's List Coupon and it will likely be my last. I purchased a $59 Roof Consultation which included a $100 credit towards repairs on 9/3/15. The contractor did contact me within several days via email but it took a few weeks to connect over the phone. He indicated it would be several weeks longer before he could check out the roof due to a vacation and other commitments. He arrived at our home on 10/5/15 as scheduled and we walked him around the side of the house to show him from the ground an area our neighbor noticed where a few shingles were missing. While the area wasn't leaking inside the house, we knew that it was just a matter of time which is why we wanted the roof inspected to begin with. The contractor provided a quote but didn't seem interested in actually inspecting the roof. When I questioned this, he stated that he would be "happy to lean a ladder against the house" to take a look but it was apparent that we needed shingles replaced. We found this comment quite surprising given the fact that our home has many pitches to the roof and he couldn't possibly see or understand what other repairs might be needed from looking at the roof from the ground and only from one angle. The quote he provided for the shingle replacement was even more surprising--it was ridiculously expensive when compared with the quotes we received from other companies later. We hired another company and they completed the project at a quarter of the price quoted by Southern Specialty. It was evident that this company wasn't interested in a smaller job. Perhaps the outlandish estimate was provided to discourage us from using Southern Speciality? If so, they succeeded and we'll be sure to remember this experience down the road when we need to replace our roof. We wasted $59 in purchasing the coupon as we received very little (if any) value by way of a roof consultation but we did learn to steer clear of this contractor and therefore won't consider it a complete loss.

It went great! Contractor handled insurance carrier and was able to get his point across so that the carrier would cover the damage. The work was really top notch. Contractor is detail oriented and would not accept anything other than the best from his crew. The contractor was efficient and kept our budget in mind as we were having extra work done by him in addition to what insurance would cover. The project was left clean every night.

I could not be more pleased with the repairs. Rod, Roger and Justin did a fantastic job. I called Rod for an estimate, he came by the same day and provided me with the estimate before he left. We set up the appointment for the repairs, they arrived on time and the repairs were completed in 2 days. I would not hesitate to hire Southern Speciality LLC again!

Ryan Morgan was our contact for the estimate and also he served as project manager/worker for the closet build. His helper was Will. From the start, Ryan exhibited a confidence and knowledge that put us at ease with his estimate and approach. He made suggestions that would save us money in the long run. He was flexible and concerned with our needs. He made changes as required. All construction trash and debris were removed as the job was completed. Both Ryan and Will were pleasant and easy to work with. We are pleased with the final product. We would recommend Ryan's work to others.

FANTASTIC. Everything went very well. Superior craftsmanship. Excellent attitudes. Great service. Very knowledgeable. Good people. I LOVE MY PORCH! I've have seen where some folks have posted bad reviews but I'm not sure why. It doesn't appear that they have actually had work performed by Rod because he definitely works hard as if it is his own home. Maybe some people are upset because it is sometimes difficult to schedule appointments as I know he stays very busy. I want to write this message because I want to shed some light on the TRUTH as I think some have been unfair with what has been posted online. Yes, it is true that I couldn't give all "A's" as Southern Specialty's prices are a bit on the high side but you know the old saying - " good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good" so if you are looking for a bargain, this is probably not your guy. This is not the first time that I've used Rod and the guys. I have always been VERY SATISFIED with all of his work. We have used them on many projects for our home and business, at least $200,000.00 worth in remodeling in the last 5 years alone. On this project, just as the others, they did a great job. I had an existing deck that needed some repairs and we built a screened porch on top of it. It's beautiful. I love the quality of Southern Specialty and the attention to detail. If you are looking for a GREAT CONTRACTOR, call Rod. They handled every part of the job including the carpentry, roofing, siding, gutters, carpet and a new ceiling fan. All of the workers are very nice and enjoyable to be around. Rod is a family man and I know that he does a lot to help when folks have needs including donating a lot of time and money to charitable causes. In fact, he lost his health this year after becoming very sick building an orphanage in Africa and then after a week in the hospital, he is now recovering slowly. This is just one example of his character which is top notch and probably the main reason why his work is also top notch. I can also say that he goes above the original scope on every project, looking for other issues that we may have. For example, he had his guys fill in some potholes in my yard that were dangerous and didn't charge anything extra, then they cleaned out my gutters at no charge and moved my patio furniture in and out. In addition, he made a few other recommendations for needed exterior repairs and offered them at a fair price. It is so refreshing to know that you have someone working on your property that you can trust. Southern Specialty is the total package and obviously I recommend them.

Rod and his crew were amazing! I actually asked Rod to quote a slightly different job, but I was asking for the wrong thing. Rod identified the REAL solution to the problem we were trying to solve. Quote arrived very fast and was very reasonable. Began work a few days later and completed the job in two days, much faster than expected. Everyone was very professional and the results look great, I've actually already contracted him for another job, A+++.

I have two complaints about the service; it took some time before they could get started on the work because he had scheduled a vacation. I thought that his price were rather high for the work I was having done. I did not need 6 hours of work; that is why I purchased a deal for 4 hours of work.

I had an appointment scheduled with Donny and he ended up rescheduling on the day of the appointment and then not showing up at all on the rescheduled day June 17th. After he didn't show, I posted a negative review on here which I assume he saw. I got a text message from him on June 21st apologizing for the no-show and asking we could reschedule again. We decided for June 26th. When he showed up and was very personable and seemed professional and promised that he would get the quote to me that evening. After some excuses, he sent the quote to me on June 29th. At this point I was ok with the delays since I was in the process of getting other quotes as well. There are a few "jobs" that I am wanting to get done and his quote included all of the work under one lump sum price. I asked if he would split the price up by the "job" on June 29th and he emailed me on July 2nd with the breakdown but he said that if I decided to not get all of the work done, it might be more per "job" than the breakdown indicated. I understood but I immediately responded and asked how much it would be for the work that I had decided to get done since I felt a couple things on his quote were too expensive. Since it was the Thursday before a Holiday weekend, I told him "no rush" on responding with the quote and to enjoy his Holiday. I haven't heard from him since and contacted him again July 11th seeing if I possibly missed his email. I will hopefully have good news to update this review soon.

Unlike many locals who've had their roofs replaced & repaired due to hail damage, our roof was crushed & chimney knocked over from a tree falling on our home after several weeks of heavy rain. The tree fell on a rare night with no rain, and we knew the nasty weather was coming back in the next morning. My husband made a call to Southern Specialty at 7:30am. When I pulled in the driveway at8:50am, after taking my children to school, we had no less than 5 work trucks already in the driveway, working as quickly as possible to protect our home from the impending rain. My eyes literally filled with tears of relief when I saw the team already in place, as we were so concerned about water getting into our home & damaging our belongings. Rod Holbrook, owner of Southern Specialty, was onsite the entire first day, ensuring we felt comfortable with the work that was being done & explaining the process for completing the repairs. He regularly visited our house to make sure the repairs were being handled in a timely & satisfactory manner. And he worked directly with our insurance company to iron out all those details so we didn't have to worry with it. Every time we needed documentation or photographs, he provided them the same day. From start to finish, Southern Specialty removed a tree from our roof; replaced & repaired the roof; removed old chimney & completely rebuilt new chimney; removed & replaced damaged siding; painted damaged exterior of house; repaired & painted deck; repaired interior wall damage; and painted affected interior room. We couldn't be more pleased with the work. It looks as if we never had the first bit of damage. We've been using Southern Specialty for the past 13 years, in this house as well as our last one, and they are who we call for any remodeling, roofing, repair, or new construction work. We refer them to all of our friends & family. Thanks so much to Rod & Southern Specialty for always taking such good care of us!
