Perfect. Southern Specialty was very professional and worked around our work schedule perfectly. The work was completed on time and every aspect was done with the highest regards to quality.

Company never followed through...no professional uniform...no thorough roof inspection...just gave me an inflated quote, and didn't communicate very well. It seemed like they did not want my business. I had to contact them all the time. Contractor did not even answer the phone professionally. Just said, "Hello" when answering phone. After the inflated price, unprofessional dress (no uniform, logo, etc.), and lack of communication, I became very skeptical...especially when other companies gave me quotes for almost HALF of what they were charging me, AND they offered better products and services!!!

Leaving a less than stellar review giving me no pleasure yet I feel obligated to do so. Rod renovated two of my lofts. The 1st time was a complete disaster because his project manager, a war veteran, suffered personal problems during the drawn out renovation. But Rod impressed me by owning up to their mistakes and fixed the damages to his best abilities. So I hired him again to renovate another loft. The process was much smoother this time and I was pretty pleased with the end results. However, problems started to surface as I prepared to bring these lofts online. I believe that these issues could have been avoided with a little care, issues like vibrating vent fan and flickering light in it, dead outlets as a result of inadequate wiring, spotty paint jobs on the kitchen cabinets, and leaky plumbing under the kitchen sink that, as my plumber pointed, is due to inadequate plumbing. I would not have complained had I not paid good money for these jobs. Rod does high volume and subcontracts jobs out. I'm sure he's got a long list of quality contractors to choose from judging by the raving reviews on here. Unfortunately, no one on that list was available when I called and so Rod's own crew took on the jobs. I'm sad to say that these guys lack the experience and finesse to justify their worth.

Excellent contractor. Easy to work with. Owner, Rod Holbrook, is a very good listener with a really good understanding of what needed to be done. Work was performed on schedule without interruption. I've used Southern Specialty Contractor several times over the years and am always satisfied with the quality of the work performed. A roof that leaked through two replacements and many patches over two decades was replaced a few years ago and no longer leaks.

Exceeded expectations. Would highly recommend and I will consider rehiring when needed.

Prompt response from owner Rod who did not pressure us and took the time to point out what we needed fixed, which was roof and gutters due to severe hail damage. He initiated the claim with my homeowner's insurance. The insurance company initially balked on a couple of things and he went to bat for us and eventually got everything approved, which was good because I don't know anything about fixing roofs/damage/insurance claims. Once approved, they promptly fixed the damage and replaced my roof. Rod even performed a final walk-through to make sure everything was done properly and pointed out a couple of things he was not happy with that he wanted touched up that we would have honestly never noticed on our own (so I found that very honest). All in all, I would use them again.

The job went good. Every aspect of the project was taken care of in a timely manner, and we are very pleased.

Smoother than any appliance installation performed by any other contractor in the past. Also, used to replace some stones that fell off chimney chase. Work well done. Highly recommend.

Great carpetry work on the staircase. It was even and lined up to spec. The utility area also looks great.

We were extremely pleased with the people and the company.

They started quoting other prices when I had already paid for the Big Deal. It was a waste of my money because when he came out, he said I don't get on top of the roof so I had to wait about a month for another guy to come out so I just said forget it.

Overall experience was very good. Out of three estimates, Southern Specialty was the only one that gave me fair and accurate quote for my roof square footage. Others tried to gouge me. The job was scheduled quickly, and labor and materials were on site bright and early as promised. Took 2 days to complete, and cleanup was thorough. They honored my Angie's list deal, and allowed me to upgrade as well on other items I needed to fix my roof. No surprises.

Said they were booked up till next year. They could have told me that when I called 4 days prior. Good thing this company wasn't my only option. I do not recommend this company to anyone unless you are not in a hurry for work to be done.

Overall the experience was pretty good. We ran into some issues with the stain because the type we purchased was not the best fit for our porch but we were not told that until after the work was done.

The deck was $13,000 and the bathroom remodel was $12,000 or $13,000. It was fairly high. They were professional, they came out and did a thorough job. They listened to what I wanted done and things I wanted to have installed in the bathroom. They did a good job. It was a general quote, it wasn't really detailed. They were responsive in coming out and doing the estimate.

The service was great. However, there was an issue with the deal that I purchased. The provider didn't receive any notification from Angie's List that I had purchased the deal and as a result they didn't follow up with me and I had to call the provider to schedule the inspection. So of course, I didn't get the deal and wind up paying full cost for the service. So right now, I'm out of the cost of the service and the money that I paid for the deal. Not a good thing.....

Work was done in a timely manner and was within budget. Additional damage was found once the shingles and decking were removed. The added cost was reasonable. The only area that could have been better was the removal of roofing nails around the carport.
