We were told by the company's office to expect the crew at 8-8:30. They arrived at 9:40(the crew told us they never get to jobs before 9:30). They installed a drainage system and sump pump which necessitated digging up our basement concrete floor and removing some of our walls. We were originally told the wall would be repaired the following day and the job would take 2 days. At the end of the first day we were informed the sheetrock man was behind in his installations necessitating a one day delay. When he came he found that the pump had been placed incorrectly so he could not complete the wall repair. Another crew returned the next day and had to dig up a portion of the floor again to place the pump directly. The first crew was neat but the second crew paid much less attention to this and created a lot more dirt. When we experienced our first substantial rain after the pump installation we had water in the basement again. A repairman came to our house promptly and found that the drainage pipe from the pump had been incorrectly installed, preventing the float on the pump from rising and not turning on the pump. The water alarm attached to the pump did not sound because the pump installers did not turn it on. We also learned that the installers did not place a "collar" around the drainage pipe which helps seal the entire system. Since they did not do this at the time of installation, retrofitting it would require removal of the entire system which the company did not suggest doing. We were also told by the original installers that no maintenance was needed for the pump. The repairman who came out when we had the malfunctioning pump told us that a yearly cleaning was desirable and would prolong pump life (he was one of the few people who seemed to know what he was doing). This company did try to address our concerns. However, it suffers from a lack of coordination between its front office and its people in the field, has employees who are poorly trained and sorely lacks quality control. I would not recommend it.

I appreciate the valuable feedback from (member name). I am not a big believer in excuses for poor service, we feel short of not only (member name) expectations but our own expectations. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and in most cases we are successful. When we fall short we use it as a teaching opportunity. My most sincere apologies go out to (member name). I am embarrassed by the mistakes we made on the front end. I am however very proud of the fact that even considering the record rain fall we received in the Atlanta this week we were prompt and thorough with our warranty repairs. Sometimes the measure of a company or an individual is how they react to problems both in resolution and in putting in place procedures to insure that problems are not reoccurring. We work diligently every day to improve the experience we provide to our customers and appreciate all feedback. Sincerely, Jay Eastland

They were on time, thorough and answered all questions we had. They are very knowledgeable and courteous and their professionalism is exemplary. I would consider them in the future for any future issues I might come across.
Description of Work: Garage floor cracked and was sinking. They did a thorough investigation and provided written explanation of what was found. The house has a basement, their conclusion was when the house was built they dugout for the basement. When foundation was complete they put the dirt back but did not pack it down.

I found a basement leak just after Christmas and obtained varying reports and quotes to fix it from different companies. Not being an expert, the reports and quotes I got varied a great deal - from $3500 to over $10k. ESOG were very communicative and followed up quickly. I expressed my confusion over the different quotes and repairs to the ESOG rep, Ron, and he brought in one of the company owners to re-inspect my property and explain the pros and cons of all the differing options I had been given. I never felt there was a hard sell at any time. I had narrowed it down to two companies but settled on ESOG as they were able to start immediately and complete the work in a few days and their quote was competitive. Also they were a one stop shop, they had experts on dry walling, whereas with the other company I would have had to hire a separate contractor to remove the sheetrock walls and rebuild them after the work was done. ESOG were also very clear about what they would be able to do and what they were not able to do - eg flooring. I not only had the leak fixed with a gravity drain system but also had work done to divert water flow away from my house. The workmen were very professional, the owner came on site and checked on progress. Afterwards, so far, I have had no problems with the basement but if I did their work is fully guaranteed. I would engage them again without any hesitation.

We didn't put the company back to work because their service was not very good. The report was fine but we have to call them several times to get the report and they kept on saying, "it will be right there, it will be next week," but it was 2 weeks before we got it.

They were very prompt and professional in responding to my request and were able to complete the work within a week of providing the bid. They carefully monitored the process of jacking up the sunroom to make sure that there wasn't any damage done to the windows in the sunroom. They cleaned up the worksite really nicely, you'd never know that such a major job had been done. Our sliding door is now back to level and the floors are noticeably more level. I would definitely recommend this company to others with foundation problems.

The gentleman that measured and made templates for the counter tops gave me a 2 week time to delivery which was accurate. A two man team arrived to install the counter tops. Both men knew exactly how to do the install and upon arrival went to work. Cabinets were checked for square and level and dimensions checked. The team leader, Arturo, explained the install procedure and then with minimal conversation between the two completed the installation and sink mounting in about 2-1/2 hours. After completion, all surfaces were cleaned and checked for any problems. The team was very professional, efficient and courteous. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

It took about a week for them to come out to quote which is fine with me as it says they are in demand. The quote was very detailed and professional and I felt comfortable with the price after having another quote that was higher. They were very professional and I was most impressed with the clean up. They take pride in what they do and a supervisor came at the end to ensure I was happy. I have had independent survey calls which also shows that they are wanting to make sure they do a good job. I am very happy with the work and can finally start using some doors that have been unable to open. I put off doing this for a while because of the cost and frankly thought it would be a lot of trouble but they made it all very easy and I am very glad to finally have the work done and so well!

Engineering Solutions of GA (ESOG) was very responsive and came out and gave me a free estimate. The sunken slab in the garage is something they have seen many times before, Allen knew what to do to fix the issue. They used power grouting to fill the voids under the slab (yes, it sounded hollow when rolling a car jack over the floor) and 2 piers. The slab had sunk a bit so they used 2 piers to raise the slab and also the pressure grouting to fill the area under the slab. They warned me that they may not be able to get the slab totally where it should be, but it will be much better than before. They were right, they were not able to get the slab up the 1-2 inches that it needed to be raised, but they did get it to move up enough to prevent the rain from getting in anymore. There are a few cracks in the floor now, but they said there would be. I plan to epoxy coat my floor next summer, so I will fill in the cracks. All in all, my wife and I can rest a little better now knowing our vehicles are parked on solid foundation now in the garage, and the rain is not running in anymore. My house also doesn't creak as much anymore - we are pleased!

We liked their approach to water proofing our basement and chose them over another company for that reason. It was a hard choice as the other company was very professional and also provided a reasonable solution. The other company would have been more expensive as well, but not so much that it would have prevented us from using them if we had liked their solution best. Engineering Solutions did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. We still have a little left to be done, but I am sure they will complete that work with the same professional competence.

It was terrible. We spent $7000 for in my opinion nothing! In fact, it was worst than nothing because I have an area that basically has humps in the hardwood floors because of their work. They did not perform the work to their own guidelines they gave us! They offered to attempt to fix it but not to go back and follow their own guidelines. They have an excuse for every question you had. They did nothing wrong in their opinion and it was by far the worst customer service. Additionally, we had someone recently looked at an issue that Engineer Solutions' engineer had stated was aesthetics and discovered it was not at all! It did not take an engineer to figure it out! Also, I had requested a letter from Engineer Solutions from the engineer stating that they had repaired and fixed any structural issue. We never received one!! I would not use this company again personally!

It is important for us as a company to do all we can to insure our customers satisfaction and unfortunately in this instance we were unable to achieve this. It is ultimately my job to insure customer satisfaction and to that end I work incredibly hard. In this particular case our customer chose not to execute the full scope of work recommended by ESOG but expected for the reduced scope to correct all the problems. We spoke with Mr. several times and at our last meeting in February of 2013 he indicated that he understood our position, we agreed to do some additional lifting at no charge and Mr. elected not to execute the balance of the scope of work. We were very responsive to their concerns professional in all discussions and are upset they chose not to fully correct the problem. I wish the outcome were different but also want to express my pride in our team of our 66 reviews on Angie’s list over the last six or so years we have an overall A rating and are recipients of multiple super service awards. We want every customer to be 100% satisfied and will continue to do everything in our control to achieve that. I am always available to discuss any aspect of our company. Jay Eastland

We have 2 porches (20 ft. x 15 ft.) one on the second floor and one above it on the third floor. The porches were sinking and we wanted them repaired and we wanted it done right. Every other "engineering or foundation" company sent out "certified foundation experts. Engineering solutions was the only company with a real engineer on staff. Engineered solutions was very busy so I got very lucky because they sent the engineer to give me a quote. He was really great and explained everything in detail. I paid for engineering plans so that the engineering is also covered under the warranty. They were also the only company offering a plan for 1 year same as cash. The work was to be done in 3 days. It was not because they ran into some issues and they accidentally cut some of the existing post too short. We discussed options and agreed they would buy new post the correct length but they would not paint them. On the third floor deck they cut the post about 1/4 too short so they used shims. I was not happy and I mentioned it to he manager who came on site but did not push them to fix it because he assured me it would last and was under lifetime warranty. About a month after the job I got a call from the office asking if I was "completely satisfied". I said no because the shim on the third floor patio and the fact that they nailed rather than screwed the post to the railing and it looks like an unprofessional job. She said they would fix it and they sent the manager out. This time he said he was happy to fix it and he would send a carpenter out so that it would be very professional looking when done. I had to paint it myself but the decks are fixed and it is a professional job. I think the after service phone call is a great touch because I likely would not have called to complain and would have always thought it was not done right. But now I feel they really wanted to make it right and they did the right thing.

With all the recent rains we had experienced some light seepage into our finished lower level and wanted to find a way to guarantee that we would not experience water intrusion into the space in the future. We had several providers come out and give estimates, all of which were in the thousands, with no guarantees. Alan was extremely knowledgeable, explained the way our house was built and how the water was able to penetrate. He even identified the exact source of entry, which no other provider took the time to do. He then proceeded to give us a solution which we tested (and it worked) while he was on site, that saved us thousands of dollars. We are so grateful. This is a top notch company with the highest level of integrity and customer satisfaction. We would recommend them to anyone with water intrusion problems without question. Thank you!

Allan Waite of Engineered Solutions was recommended to us by a general contractor friend in our neighborhood. We called and he came by the next day. We had several other firms assess the situation and was told the source of the flooding was the roof which would need a $7K repair, the foundation wall which would need a $8K repair and the foundation slab which would need a $5-10K repair. Allan walked around, looked at all of the places where we showed him where the water was - he asked one question (what color was the water) and then walked us upstairs to our entrance doorway and said - here's your problem. He did a quick experiment, sprayed water from a garden hose, and "wala" water started pouring into the basement along a joist. We had had a new door installed a few months before, and the repair company didn't install flashing, sealant or properly install the sidelight panels. Allan properly diagnosed the source of the problem in 15 min where three other vendors and our insurance company didn't / couldn't. Engineered Solutions does a lot of foundation work and could have taken advantage of the situation like the other companies but didn't. And a $5-10K repair will now be covered by the original installer. As an aerospace engineer, I'm very demanding of contractors. Allan was knowledgeable and professional and I'd recommend Engineered Solutions without hesitation!

Called Engineered Solutions after checking them on BBB (did not have Angie's list yet). Spoke to Clark Campbell. They came out right away and gave an estimate right away which was right on target with price paid. Gave us a couple of options to choose from and cost of each. They came out, did the work in a day. Cleaned up after themselves. Clark is very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I called him about something about a year later and he was quick to respond to my questions with easy to understand explanations. Would definitely recommend!

Engineered Solutions of Georgia it was a plumbing issue. There was a pipe going out of basement of the house and where the pipe was going, the joint, that is not closed properly and that's where when it drained it's leaking from that point. He exactly figured out that's where it was leaking so he fixed it and after that we had two three major thinks and it did not leak anything. I had a good experience with them, the pricing is good, the work is very good and also the follow up after the work is also pretty good. He did call and find out how things are going on and if there is an issue. And also they give a warranty for a year.
