Very good. They were excellent. Came out did the estimate, honored the estimate, did the work, told us what we needed to do to get prepared, finished the work. They were good.

It is guaranteed for the life of the home. They gave us it in writing. They were out there for 3 and a half days. They left everything pristine from the day they were there, they cleaned everyday. They were very nice to work with, there for a long time and the staff was just wonderful to work with us. They made a scar situation easier to deal with. They were more expensive then some other quotes, but no one else had the lifetime guarantee and no one else was providing a life time solution. They were the best solution for our problem. They were early every day, wonderful. They did not want to use our baseball chairs because they did not want to get them dirty and so they sat on the concrete floor, I was like not they can be cleaned off. They are awesome. Highly recommended. You can trust them and I recommended them to friends and family in this area. I would absolutely trust them with my family home. We have some other stuff we want done and talked to them about it.

They were on time. I don't think it was racked up good enough would be my biggest complaint. They were working in 90 degree heat and digging a hole so that stuck out. What they could do better is probably follow-up better on what their boss tells them to do by the end of the job.

The repair of the opening in the basement wall was done with an epoxy sealer with a 10 year warranty. They fixed it perfectly, we monitored it during heavy rain storms and no leakage detected. They cleaned up the work area and didn't leave a mess like some do. They were professional. For the sidewalk, they gave us advice on how to repair it and recommended a contractor to do the work. The contractor did it exactly as recommended and fixed it to their specs.
Description of Work: We used Engineered Solutions of Georgia twice. Both times they gave us great service and advice. One was for an opening made by the original contractor in the basement wall, but not sealed correctly. The other was to review the front sidewalk which had dropped a couple of inches and they recommended a great solution.

Everyone seemed nice. Job was done to our satisfaction although lifting the sagging garage floor didn't work out. Most importantly, the void and unpacked soil beneath the garage floor is now filled and firmed up.

We had them inspect our house foundation and crawlspace because we were seeing signs of settling. They were quick to come inspect and provide an engineer's evaluation (for $500) and to make a recommendation for repairs. We waited a few months to contact them in order to have funds available to pay for the repairs. It then took nearly two months of repeated phone calls and e-mail requests for them to provide us with their estimated cost for the repairs. When we finally got the estimate it was significantly higher than we expected it to be and it was one total amount with no detail. After I asked for a detailed breakdown of the estimate (materials, labor, travel, etc.) I was unable to get them to return my repeated calls and e-mails over 2 months of attempts. We have subsequently gotten an estimate from another contractor and it came in at less than half of Engineered Solutions of Georgia estimate.

In June 2015, I purchased a mid-century ranch with significant moisture issues that had received haphazard, band-aid fixes over the years. None of these remedies was truly successful. My renovation contractor recommended Engineered Solutions. I also solicited proposals from Trotter and AquaGuard. All three recommended essentially the same repair--a French drain and a full-time sump pump. The Engineered Solutions' quote was significantly lower than their competitors. With the recommendation of my contractor, I signed with them. I know from experience that moisture issues are often notoriously difficult to diagnose and repair, so I did not expect the problems to be resolved in one visit. After the basement work was completed, we then looked at the rear gutter drainage. Three downspouts drained into a below-ground clay pipe along the base of the house. Everyone agreed that after 60 years, the clay pipe would no longer be intact. So, Engineered Solutions proposed draining the downspout water away from the house and designed and installed a system to accomplish that. In addition to the full-time sump pump, Engineered Solutions also recommended a moisture barrier in the crawl space and a full-time dehumidifier. Even after heavy and prolonged rain, my basement is now as dry as popcorn. I couldn't be more delighted with the work that Engineered Solutions performed.

After Eng. Sol. installed their waterproofing system, the basement was dry for about 7 months. At the time the work was done, Todd checked the crawlspace and said there was no indication of moisture at that time, so the waterproofing system that I had them install was for the basement but not the crawlspace. However, in October there was water in the basement again after hard rains. Steve came out and saw signs that the moisture was coming from the crawlspace. He referred the problem to Todd, who came out a week later. Todd gave me 3 or 4 options for additional waterproofing, and I asked him if he could send me an email with the different prices so I could decide. He promised to email me by Sat., Nov. 21. I called the office on Wed., 12/2/15 as i had still not received the estimates. I told them I needed the estimates by Fri. or I would have to go with another company. It is Sat., 12/5, and I have still not heard from them, so I am getting estimates from other vendors. The initial work may have been fine, but my problem is with the total lack of customer service in dealing with the additional waterproofing needed. It has been about 6 weeks since I called them for help with the problem. This is poor customer service for an existing customer.

Response from Engineered Solutions of Georgia
As a business owner I have to make sure all of the people in our organization treat our customers with the respect they deserve it is one of Engineered Solutions Core values. When one of our associates falls short we have to give them both the tools and the chance to succeed. I will be spending some time with this project coordinator to help him organize his tasks in a manner to stop this from happening in the future if he is unable or unwilling to commit to providing the level of service we expect he will have to find a new position. We are committed to both our customers in terms of the level of customer service we will provide and our associates in terms of the level of support they will receive. I am truly apologetic for the lack of service and will reach out to this customer in an attempt to earn the opportunity to make this right. The employee showed up on time, was very professional, and knew what he was talking about. We discussed two quotes, one to repair cracks in concrete slab and block wall, and another to level upstairs flooring that had settled. He said he would likely get back to me in 3 days. After not hearing from them, I reached out on day 5 and got a response the next business day that they wanted to send out an engineer to make sure the house was structurally sound and take measurements, and that would cost $500. They had already done this just a few years prior, so I reminded them about that. I haven't heard from them since then. I've reached out two more times, but no response. I'm very disappointed in this company, and would recommend that you try someone else first.

It went very well and they completed the installation in the amount of time they said they would. My only complaint is that they did not leave me with a list of things that I need to follow up on, such as changing the filter on the dehumidifier, which I didn't figure out for a couple of years. However, what really impresses me most about this company is their follow up. I have had 3 minor issues since the installation: one was the alarm on the sump pump quit working, some of the tape that held the plastic in place came loose. In both cases, they came out immediately and took care of both issues at no cost and did so promptly. The third issue was caused by the installation a new furnace in the crawl space, which tore the lining in a few places, so they came out within two days and made the repairs at a very reasonable price. It seems like most companies just want to sell you something and never see you again. This is not the case with Engineered Solutions. They stand behind their guarantee and give great service even years after selling you their product. I highly recommend them to anyone considering any type of waterproofing.

Thanks for the kind words. I am very proud of the Engineered Solution's team and their commitment to customer service. Feedback form places like Angie’s list help us be a better company. We heard similar feed from customers concerning maintenance items and that led to forming our service department. We now offer a yearly service program to monitor and maintain all mechanical equipment we sell. We also offer a list of items that require service for the weekend warrior who may want to tackle it themselves. Thanks again for the great feedback. It went GREAT. TODD is awesome & I actually WANTED him to do the work he said I need (brick mason & sheet rock), but he was VERY honest & upfront with me & told me I could get someone in THOSE fields to do the work cheaper & I would still be satisfied with the work! I love these folks. Even the secretary whom I talked to on the phone asked me great questions & I knew I was in good hands right from the beginning! I appreciate so much TODD coming to my house & actually looking at everything & more (than I could've sent in pictures) & easing my mind that I do NOT have structural issues with my house - what a load off (pardon the pun).

They did a fantastic job. There was a water leaking issue and the front stoop was puling away from the front of the home. There was about a half an inch of space between our stoop and our home. They matched all brick to our home. They broke down the stoop and rebuilt the front stoop and walkway. They did all the work in about a week. The service was amazing.

The plastic liner off-gasses an odor that reeks of cat urine. Apparently, this is a known problem, or at least it's known by the three other contractors I called to come out and tell us what is going on, because when I relayed to them the issue on the phone, they asked, "does it smell like cat urine?" (The liners are made in China; American-made ones are apparently better, at least in the "not smelling like cat urine" department) The stinky plastic does not really encapsulate the space--it is already peeling away from the walls. We are going to have to pay another company to remove the liner and redo the entire encapsulation properly. So, even if it didn't smell, the installation was done incorrectly. They also broke one of our sewer pipes while they were digging, but refused to claim responsibility because PVC pipes that have been fine for five years apparently just break in a shovel-like curve for no reason whatsoever. We have tried myriad times to get ESOG to rectify these problems but after having to chase them down so many times, only to be told it's not their problem, it's something someone else did, they have never heard of anyone having an issue, they can't smell anything, etc, we have given up and are hiring Trotter (which we should've done in the first place). I understand that lots of folks on the List have been pleased with the service they have received. Maybe I just got a lemon (that smells like cat pee), or maybe they are just so busy they can't keep up with the jobs they have, or the problems that need to be addressed (such as not making your basement reek of cat pee. Did I mention it's a really strong odor, especially when it's warmer outside? Even our cats are, like, "what on earth did you do that is NOT me." We also had ESOG install a support post, and though it took at least six phone calls to get them out here to do it, when they finally showed up, they did a good job. Eventually (they cut the post incorrectly on site, but they came back quickly to rectify the mistake). So, except for not really encapsulating the crawl space and making everything smell like cat pee, they did a great job.

Response from Engineered Solutions of Georgia
I am very sorry that Ms._____________ had an ATYPICAL experience with Engineered Solutions of Ga. As the owner of ESOG it is my responsibility to insure that customer’s frustrations do not rise to this level. I take full responsibility for any lack in customer service. I have reviewed the events that led to this review and made the necessary changes in our procedure to insure it does not happen in the future. It is not the customer’s responsibility to “chase us down” to get resolutions. As a company grows they must insure they have a structure in place that allows the owners to get involved to resolve complaints prior to this level. As evidence by our reviews and multiple super service awards we typically do a great job. We fell short in this instance and will work diligently to insure this is not repeated For anyone who may reading this in an effort to decide weather or not to do business with ESOG my cell phone number is 404-754-4689 and I am always available to discuss any aspects of our business good or bad. There are a couple of points out side of customer service that I need to address. The Material we use to encapsulate crawl spaces as with all of our products is manufactured in America. This particular product is manufactured in Escondido California. In approximately 1% of encapsulation installation in our market (regardless of installer) there is a unique smell. Most research points to deterioration of organic matter in the soil as the cause. I have seen no research that attributes the smell to “out gassing” from material regardless of origin. It is our policy to repair any damage we cause due to mistakes made in the course of performing our work. Occasionally we find existing damage in peoples home and bring it to the customer’s attention. In most cases the customer appreciates our bringing it to their attention and we often help arrange the repair. For the uncommon citation where the customer believes that we caused the damage we typically repair it and view it as a cost of being a great company. I will look into why we did not take this course of action with Ms._______________ Again I extend my sincere apologies and commit to using this as an opportunity to grow Engineered Solution into a better company.

At first, I was a bit concerned, ESOG put two appointments for two different estimators on their calendar. And they had the address incorrect, so that the estimator called at the appointment time from a location in a commericial area about 5 miles from my home. Todd (estimator) and Jason (installer) were great. When Todd arrived we looked at my concerns, and walked the perimeter of my home. Todd pointed out things that were/were not issues for my 25 year old home. He went into the crawl space and then we looked at his findings. ESOGs identified an issue near my hearth that other did not. He emailed me the quote, and their price was great. We anticipated a one-day job, and we were able to get the initial work done within one week when one of their other jobs was completed quicker than anticipated. Unfortunately, our framing is non-standard. The girder that was sagging was about 2 feet from our load bearing wall and we did not get the improvement we had hoped for. None of our estimates picked up that our load bearing wall was not on top of the girder. ESOG proposed additional supports, and a beam under the load bearing wall. We accepted their proposal and Jason returned in less than one week. The final cost was still less than the initial proposal by their competitors. The outcome: Our floor is more level, and has less bounce. Great job!

Clark Campbell was very good to work with. We were very impressed with Clark. Frankly his price came in much lower than another one we had, and when I walked our structural engineer through the proposal Clark put together, our engineer said that it actually exceed specifications. For example, Clark used a steel beam instead of a wooden one, but Clark said that while the material was more expensive, they would save that much on labor costs. My engineer said it was an "overkill" but when I told him it was the lower bid, he said that was great. The same thing happened as the engineer asked for dental concrete, but Clark used cementitious grout applied under pressure. Again, my engineer said "overkill" but then was thrilled that it was the lower cost bid that was the overkill. I really think that Engineered Solutions provided a better solution in a cost effective way. Moreover, we found them to be prompt with their actual implementation. They sent pictures of their work after completion. Thank you Clark and the others at Engineered Solutions. (We had an early miscommunication with his office and this review should replace that earlier review. I have asked Angie's List to remove that review, but they have not done so.)
Description of Work: The provider did some work supporting the deck and house on a heavily sloped side. Access was difficult, but Engineered Solutions was able to get to the area where many others were not. In comparing their proposal versus the engineer who provided the specifications for what should be done, they exceeded his requirements.

Overall very pleased. It hasn't rained so they system hasn't been tested yet, but the work was performed according to the estimate, called to confirm a few days in advance and showed up on time. The guys who came on site reviewed the work to be completed, estimated when they would be done and called to confirm when completed. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they cleaned up after the work and the care they took in digging the drainage pipe to not harm the plants.

I purchased a 40 year old house built on a crawl space, and unhappily I discovered that the crawl space had an extremely high humidity level, especially when it rained. The house was very uncomfortable and I had constant sinus infections because of the mold growth resulting from the humidity. So I obtained some quotes to address the issue and found ESOG to have the lowest quote, but that is not the primary reason I chose them to do the work. My impression was that the sales rep who evaluated my situation was primarily concerned with solving my problem and my distress as opposed to just making a sale. And that attitude of concern for a job well done was present in every single employee of the company with whom I interacted. Everyone was personable, hard working, and professional! Part of the crawl space was only 3 feet in height, so they had to work in very cramped conditions at times. They hit some difficult material to break through when installing the drainage, but all attitudes remained positive and determined. I have had other contractors that have entered the space to complete other types of work, and they have all commented on what a great job ESOG did. The humidity in my house is so much lower...no more sinus infections. I am so grateful to ESOG for making a difficult situation much less so.
Description of Work: All work was performed in crawl space: 1) Install drainage system. 2) Encapsulate entire crawl space. 3) Install crawl space dehumidifer.

Jason & his crew arrived slightly earlier than scheduled, which was absolutely wonderful! The crew worked diligently and in a timely manner, and greatly exceeded my expectations. They completed the project in less than 7 hours - which I originally perceived would take 12 or more hours. These guys work hard, they work fast, and they take great pride in their work. They did the job as outlined in the proposal, and even performed an after-work cleanup that only a sailor would appreciate (in other words, immaculate). The crew was very respectful, explained the process of the project, and they didn't mind if I occasionally watched them work. The project was performed above expectations. Our crawl space not only looks better and the with the new vapor barrier, the old "crawlspace odor" has gone away in just a few hours. Now if it would just rain, we'll know how well the drainage solution works. I highly recommend Engineered Solutions simply based on their work ethics.
Description of Work: - Install pipe and gravel crawlspace drain system to catch water at the footing level land channel it to a sump system - Drill weep holes through cells of block to drain water from wall and into system - Install one sump system to include:1/3 horse power sump pump, elevated sump platform, sealed sump lid, back flow valve and high water alarm - Cover all exposed earth with six mil vapor barrier - Install 1.5 inch discharge line extending approximately 15’ from foundation to a pop up valve - Remove all work related debris

Our experience with ESOG was first-rate all the way. Our job was a minor fix in their scheme of things, but they still gave us first rate service and professionalism. The estimator was on time and suggested a repair method appropriate to the problem. Being a small repair, he quoted their minimum job rate, which was fair. Another company had quoted a major repair that was several times the price quoted by ESOG. The repairman arrived at the scheduled time and repaired the leak in one afternoon and left the work site clean. ESOG also provided a ten year written warranty for the repair. We are very happy with the work they did, how they did it and recommend ESOG highly.
Description of Work: ESOG repaired a minor pinhole leak in a concrete basement wall.

We ended up suing them, they were the bad check, it bounced and they got advertising and posters all over Atlanta and people need to be warned no to use them. The checked bounce and we ended up going to court, they don't deserve the money back, so do not use this people. The judge had a problem with the guy with ethics, we hired them the day we bought the house, but they were really unethical. The work they did was unprofessional and unethical. Beware do not answer anybody that would call other than Angie's list because they have a service they have hired that would call the customer's and tell them to give report and if anybody would refuse to give good report, they threaten them that they will sue them for libel. I would not recommend them and I would not use them.
Description of Work: Engineered Solutions of Georgia, we hired them to wter proof our basement.
