The Painters YOU can TRUST! We are a full service painting company specializing in home improvements for residential homeowners and commercial businesses. We also have an office located in Peachtree City to better service our customers on the southside of The Metro Atlanta area. "In all fairness, I cannot recommend this company as our experience with them was horrendous and we still have unresolved issues that we do not have the wherewithal to continue to fight the company to rectify. We hired The Painting Company to paint the exterior of our rather large 1.5 story home, which included applying two coats of paint on the body and trim, repainting wrought iron railings, gates, and an exterior wrought iron spiral staircase. We were under the assumption that the painters were employed by The Painting Company and under the supervision of the Project Manager assigned to our job. We later discovered that the painters are subcontractors and the project manager is not on site nor comes to the site to check the work. The first "professional crew" sent to our home consisted of a supposedly experienced painter, a middle-aged woman, and a teenaged boy, neither of whom had painting experience. The painter began to spray paint our home before doing any of the prep work, which would have included replacing wood, sanding, caulking and extensive sanding and prepping of the iron staircase, and properly covering the glass windows, doors and brick patio and plants. When I questioned the painter, he brushed off my concerns, including my concerns about the paint he was getting on my new light fixtures, windows and brick patio. Concerned about the quality of the work and the two unqualified "painters," I asked the painter to stop working and called the Company. The project manager came out and told me that this was a new "crew" and he was unaware that the woman and teenager would be there. He promised that a new crew would arrive the next morning. However, a new crew did not come until 2 days later, and as we were having out of town company and a party over July 4th, the delay meant that the house would be in a state of disarray. The new crew was much more professional, however, they also continued painting prior to doing the sanding and prep work on the wood, the iron railings, and staircase, which meant that sawdust, black iron dust, and iron chips were now all over the new paint. They also told me that they would not paint the removable window grids as that was "inside painting" and there was an extra charge. They also only painted one side of the shutters so the old color was evident between the slats. I was at work when the painters finished the job and that evening, I got a phone call from The Painting Company asking for payment. I told them that I wasn't even aware that the work was finished and that I expected the Project Manager to walk the job with me so we could go over the quality of the work and do a punch list, and also, that I would receive an itemized bill, especially as the amount they asked me for was higher than the amount I believed I owed. And when the bill did arrive, I discovered that they failed to credit me for the second deposit I made, which was why there was a $2400 discrepancy between the verbal amount they asked for and the amount my records showed. Then, the Project Manager did not show up for the walk-through, only one of the painters. As I pointed out areas that needed attention, I got pushback. The painter objected to removing the paint splatters and overspray from the windows, French doors, brick patio, walkways, rubber, thresholds, and light fixtures as he claimed the other painter did it, not them. He did agree to "wipe down" the numerous (too numerous) areas that had sawdust, black iron dust and iron chips embedded in them and do touch-up upon areas they missed. There were also dents in the gutters from the placement of the ladders without cushioning behind them, which he also blamed on the previous painter. As the painter and I could not come to an agreement, I demanded that the Project Manager show up. He finally did, and I went over the punch list with him and he promised that all of the items would be done, including a semi-power wash of the brick patio to remove the overspray and paint splatters. Prior to the punch-llst being completed, I received numerous emails and calls asking for payment, which I found totally obnoxious as the work had not been completed and they were giving me pushback on completing it. As I had to be at my office, I left the oversight of the work to the Project Manager, trusting that he understood my dissatisfaction, and would make sure the work was done correctly. Later that afternoon, I received a call informing me that the work had been done and again asking for payment. I complied and paid in full. I then inspected the work when I returned home and discovered that there are still many areas that were not done. I still have dented gutters, there is a coating of white overspray paint on all of my windows and doors, and I have black iron dust and iron chips embedded in the new paint, along with paint splatters everywhere. I'm also worn out and no longer have the stamina to continue to fight with The Painting Company."

Five Star Painting is a locally owned and operated company with over 20 years experience. Our projects are clean, on time, and on budget. We strive to provide the best in quality and service at an affordable price. Prompt reply to your request and workmanship is guaranteed. Call today for a free in home consultation.

"Hired this company to do painting in my home. My bathroom has not been the same since. Paint on my floor, trim and ceiling. The first time they came out you could see behind the toilet still had wallpaper and had not been painted. Improper prep on the walls led to bubbling at multiple points throughout the room. No sanding or prep to fill in areas where the wallpaper was just pulled off. My room should have been red but multiple areas still had white showing through. No Project Manager follow up until I called to complain. The project manager came out after I complained and agreed things should be better. Rescheduled a time for the work to be completed. The painter was here 30 minutes. Not enough time to sand the walls and prep properly as promised. Came back a few days later to paint, at which time I showed him the same areas of original concern had not been corrected, stayed about an hour and left. My walls still have bubbles, areas without paint etc. Again no project manager follow up. I had to call and complain again before something was done to be told the same group would be coming back out to fix the issues. I refused as I am off the opinion if they could not do it right three times before I do not want them to be the ones to try again. Was told " Let me know how that works for you". Never should have paid all up front. Obviously no incentive to make it right. A mistake I will not make again. The attached pics should tell the story. Pics after the third time out"

Wood stripping services FAQs

Professional painters charge $20 to $50 per hour, on average. Hourly rate cost factors include the complexity of the paint job, the type of paint, the height of the walls and ceiling, and the type of prep and repairs needed. For example, removing wallpaper costs an additional $3 per square foot because it can be very time consuming and labor intensive. Your location will also impact the hour rate.

Generally, general contractors charge between $50 and $150 hourly, though not every contractor charges by the hour. If charging based on the project, you can expect a markup of 10% to 20% of the construction cost. You can expect to pay between $300 and $500 daily if charged by the day.

While city and state laws vary on general contractor licensing requirements, hiring an unlicensed general contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines for your area.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The cost to refinish a table is about $250, depending on the size, type of finish, and amount of detail involved in the table and the new finish. The lowest price to refinish a table is about $80, and the highest is about $700. Additional tasks like dipping, stripping, staining, and painting will add to the total project cost. Here are average costs to refinish a table by type:

  • Side or end table: $80–$150

  • Coffee table: $150–$250

  • Dining room table: $400–$700

The cost to paint the exterior of a house ranges from $1,900 to $4,500 or about $1.50 to $4 per square foot, depending on the size, height, and complexity of the home layout. Other cost factors include your location, the type of siding (e.g., wood, aluminum, brick, stucco, etc.), and the kind of paint (e.g. oil-based, latex, acrylic, etc.). Painting the trim a different color or painting intricately designed trim can also increase the cost.
