Our services include, but are not limited to: servicing all air conditioning brands, change or repair duct work, replace air conditioners or replace parts for them. leaky air conditioners (air or water), stopped up drains, relocations of air conditioner (inside or outside portion).
Our contractor (whom we would not use again either) had recommended him. We were quoted several different prices for different size tonnage/seer units. We chose to have a 3.5 ton 15 seer HVAC system installed. After we had chosen this unit we had decided that we would put foam insulation in the attic roof. This decision to foam insulate the attic was made on the urging of our contractor but most importantly, we decided to foam insulate our attic BEFORE any air conditioning system was installed. As a matter of fact, we had not even installed the ceiling sheet rock. I only mention this as a part of the a/c unit is installed in our attic space. After we were living in the house, we had problems with the unit - at first the fan would not shut off, then after that it would cycle too often. Witt Air came out several times to check on our complaints. When nothing was getting resolved, I looked at the paperwork that was given to us originally when we were quoted prices with the serial numbers of the units that were to be installed. I then compared that to the serial numbers of units that were installed. They were different. Could not figure out why they would be different as it was not mentioned to us about any change. After looking up online myself to see what size these new serial numbers were, I realized that instead of us having a 3.5 ton outdoor unit and 3.5 ton indoor section, we now had a 2.5 ton outdoor unit and a 3.5 indoor section. We were NEVER told of any change. Also after further investigation (from the manufacturer & other air conditioning companies) we found out that you are only supposed to have a difference of tonnage between the inside unit and outdoor unit of no more than HALF a ton. If you install any more than half a ton difference, you will NEVER have your unit run properly. We also found out that that's the reason it runs so often is because it is not getting all the humidity out of the house due to the big difference in the tonnage. If we had not noticed the difference in serial numbers ourselves we would not have known that he installed the wrong size units. There is absolutely NO REASON why you would purposely install non-compatible equipment. So we paid a lot of money for a brand new unit that will never work properly.

Response from WITT AIR CONDITIONING
At Witt Air Conditioning we were very sorry to hear about this situation and did everything we could to make it right. We wish to explain what happened... The problem in this situation is that there was no general contractor for the house renovation (proper communication). The Air Handler was installed without the HVAC contractor knowing about the spray foam. Prior to the spray foam, there was poor insulation in the house. Meaning, Witt Air quoted a 3.5-ton system to compensate for the lack of insulation in the house. Once the home owners were ready to set the outside system (after the inside was installed), Witt Air identified that there was spray foam that was not communicated during the installation process. - Because of the spray foam, the system would now be oversized - To compensate, the outside system was reduced in tonnage. This was communicated to the homeowners; however, it must have not been fully recognized that they would be getting a mismatched system. Result: Witt Air was willing to continue to adjust the system, and if it did not work would replace it at no additional cost of the original quoted amount. We would have even taken off the amount of the difference in price between the 2.5 and 3.5 condenser. This was communicated to the homeowners, which chose to use another company.
