Gave an original estimate of $15,000 and six weeks. Later, I asked them to fix many items of the previous "highly regarded" contractor of the cabinet boxes. That took an extra week (38 hours+materials), for which they graciously under-charged us. Our long time (7 yrs) "highly regarded" contractor was not the cabinet maker he (or we) thought he was. Many of the cabinet boxes were out-of-square, and more. Plus, something happened to his attitude toward us when we finally moved into the house from ATL... He kept putting us off, and after almost a year without cabinet doors, we abandoned him for the highly recommended guys at Total Fabrications -- wish we had gone there first! As we got into it, these guys strongly suggested paying up for solid wood on the 53" doors for which we had discussed US-made plywood (don't put Chinese plywood in your house). They feared the plywood in such a tall door might someday warp; that was an up charge that they passed through at cost-only. Dave, May, and Bob are detail fanatics -- everything has to be perfect. And it is! They had wonderful communications. They arrived on time, and worked non-stop until mid-afternoon. We could never get them to go to lunch with us, because they brought their lunch and worked straight through. Finally, when the job was complete, they let us take them to lunch to celebrate... We have another bookcase project for them when their schedule opens for a small project. Thanks to Joe at Seventh Heaven Antiques for the recommendation.
