Rickey was amazing to work with. I had 3 contractors bid for the job, and selected Rickey because of his obvious knowledge, attention to detail and great ideas he brought to the table. With other contractors, I had a hard time getting them to understand my vision; Rickey immediately got what I was trying to accomplish and brought up new ideas that really added polish to the finished project. His team was always unfailingly polite and neat, working long hours (including some weekends) to get the work done with minimal disruption to our house and always leaving a clean work site. The quality and craftsmanship was superb; I couldn't be happier with the results. I wanted an outdoor 'room', not just a screened porch and that's exactly what I got. Amazing trim work and detail I never would have dreamed of was just standard operating procedure for them. They decided that custom screen doors would look much better than what they could buy, so they just built them (at no extra charge). If you're looking for quality at a reasonable price, look no further. These guys really believe in delivering only the best, and I rave about them to anyone who will listen.
Description of Work: Added new 26'x13' screened porch with recessed lights, ceiling fans and outlets, tongue and groove ceiling and knee wall Added 500 sq ft L-shaped deck with 3 sconce lights, recessed LED up-lights installed in deck and rope lighting at the stairs Knocked out interior wall raised floor in den (formerly garage) and put in hardwood flooring removed popcorn ceiling and repainted ceiling and main living area installed new recessed lighting, ceiling fans, under-cabinet lighting tiled backsplash in kitchen

I got two estimates from two different companies. I chose Rickey (RNR Home Improvements) because we had a time restraint which he could manage and because of his estimated quote. He started construction on Feb. 4th, 2015 and finished on our deadline of Feb. 27th. The crew was very professional and careful to clean up at the end of the day. They were prompt every day. Rickey checked in or called every day. I do need to call him back for a minor repair on the faucet and to change the location of the chandelier I had installed. I didn't realize when I had the chandelier installed that the closet door would open so far back and hit it. Didn't think to check it out at the time. But, we are really happy with our new master bath. It was a joy to have the guys work here. They were always so happy and cheerful.
Description of Work: Rickey and his crew remodeled our master bath. They removed the old tile from the floor, leveled the floor and installed new porcelain tile. They removed the old fiberglass tub/shower unit and built a new matching porcelain tile shower with niche and seat. A handheld shower head was installed as well as a standing one. I also had them add decorative glass tile to the shower area and niche. They installed new recessed lighting and put up a crystal chandelier I had purchased. Removed old toilet and installed new one. I purchased an all wood cherry vanity with black granite top, and a medicine cabinet with antique silver frame that they installed. Also bought a Moen faucet that they installed. They repaired the walls and ceiling, then painted trim, doors, walls and ceiling.

Rickey was awesome to work with. He was prompt with the estimate and made me feel very comfortable with him. He was upfront with me about the wait time between receiving the estimate and when work would begin and I appreciated that. Once work started, the crew was courteous and professional. They worked so fast too! I have other work that needs to be done in the house and I will be calling Rickey back to complete the rest for us. I HIGHLY recommend you call him and get an estimate.

They arrived on time, fixed the beam, and cleaned up within an hour's time.
Description of Work: Guys removed and replaced a broken supporting beam in the attic.
Rickey came over on a Monday morning to begin the work on the remodel of my master bath and brought over 6 of his guys who immediately began to prep the areas that they would be working in to minimize the mess they made. They had my master bath completely gutted down to the studs in about an hour and a half and then began to build it back up. They replaced my tub/shower, re-tiled the shower and the floor, installed a new vanity, installed a new toilet, replaced all of the plumbing fixtures then repaired some damage to the walls and repainted the whole bathroom. All of his guys worked with a quickness while not sacrificing quality in the work they were doing. Rickey had scheduled out the work so that his guys wouldn't be stepping over each other while they were trying to do their jobs and the progress of the remodel went very smoothly and efficiently. During the bathroom remodel Rickey's guys simultaneously began repainting the entire interior of the house. They painted all of the walls, trim, doors, interior garage and exterior entrance doors. Before they began their painting they did all of the prep work to include repairing and re-priming of some previous patches that were showing through the old paint. They also repaired and re-"popcorned" parts of my ceiling where the sheet rock tape was dis-bonding. All of the work was completed in a week and each day of work Rickey called me to inform me and keep me updated on the progress of the work. I gave Rickey access to the house because I'm not currently living in it and am in the process of fixing it up in order to sell it. Each night his guys cleaned up after their work for the day and made sure my house was locked up when they left. When Rickey and his guys were done they made sure to clean up all of the areas they were working. I am completely satisfied with both the quality and professionalism of Rickey and his crew and would definitely hire him again. My bathroom looks great and the house looks new with the new paint.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of master bathroom to include replacement of vanity tub/show wall tile, floor tile, toilet, fixtures repair to and painting of walls as well as complete repaint of all walls, trim and doors in house.

My back door jamb was kicked in on 08.29.14; I frantically thumbed through yellow pages, called my handyman I could get to answer the phone. All were unwilling to come out on a Friday, nor break their Labor Day weekend travel plans. I was unable to get anyone to return my call or even act remotely interested in my current situation given it happened on a Saturday. I was up all night worried sick. Woke up early (0630) and decided to scour Angie's List and found RNR Home Improvements LLC. The owner answered promptly and was very passionate to my situation and was at my home within the hour. Assessed the door and sent his crew out to purchase the items from the Home depot nearby. Cons: had I not researched the door jambs should be steel plated or replaced with steel reinforcements, they didn?t offer. However, once I asked they were more than happy to oblige; weighted in my overall rating of "B" Cons: Never received a detailed invoice upon work completion; had to request an invoice for the work performed; weighted in my overall rating of "B" Overall and more importantly; I would definitely use them again and would definitely refer them!!! Found them moderately/expensively priced for the job; but given my situation I would pay it again...
Description of Work: Replaced a kicked in Door Jamb... Stated on Invoice: "Scope of Work: Repaired back door" "Replaces , jamb, and brick mold as needed to secure door do to damage from robbery."
Rickey Greer was great to work with. I was out of town for the majority of the time and he was very easy to work with by phone, email and text, providing me with updates (including pictures) as the work progressed. He brought qualified workers in a number of areas (pressure washer, stucco, wood, gutters) and managed them all rather than me having to contract with multiple service providers. I will definitely work with Rickey in the future for all my home improvement needs. Thanks, Rickey!
Description of Work: Pressure wash house/driveway/back patio; repaired stucco (hundreds of spots, nail pops, cracks, missing stucco) including painting; repaired damaged fascia/wood in multiple spots including priming/painting, gutter/roof cleaning. The house is 20 years old and was in need of minor exterior repairs in an extensive number of spots.
Originally I searched Angie's list for a Bathroom Remodel(er), and contacted the top four people. Out of those four, three called me back. One made an appointment and stood me up, another came out to give me an estimate but was never heard from again. Rickey was the first to call me back, first to schedule an appointment for an estimate, and first to send me a quote. Rickey was able to schedule the work while we were out of town, so it was an amazing experience leaving for vacation with the old bathroom, and arriving back to find a brand new one. The work is definitely high quality, and we're extremely glad we decided to go with this crew. I can't speak to how the crew was while the work was being done, but when we returned home there was no sign (outside of the new bathroom) that they had even been there.
Description of Work: Our guest bathroom needed a remodel something fierce. Sub-flooring was rotted, and dry wall was squishy. Replaced floors/walls, and then remodeled bathroom. Added a deeper tub, and tiled the bulk of the room. Replaced sink and toilet. Painted.
It was awesome. The employees of this company are wonderful. They put plastic down on every surface while they work, and vacuum everything before they leave each day. Their work was excellent, I cannot tell where the damage was from the tree falling through our roof.

The service was ok. The drywall they put up did start to come down. I was going to have him to do additional work but he just wouldn't give me a breakdown of the cost. Four to five people came out and it took them a couple days to do the work. They are very professional and they did clean up well.
First statement of fact, my wife and I will NEVER use a different contractor again. Mr. Greer (owner) and his team are professional, very cost reasonable, and the attention to detail and craftsmanship was superb. Rickey Greer made it EASY. First, he is straight forward and honest. I sincerely appreciated his candor and for telling me what I needed to hear versus what I thought I might want to hear. Like his unwillingness to sacrifice craftsmanship for cost, when asked about using shower doors or shower heads from big retail outlets, he would provide meaningful and detailed explanations as to why it was important to use quality over the price. As an example, you can go to a big box retailer and buy, what appears to be, the very same high-end brand-name faucet or shower door that you find at store that specializes in the same. He explained that though they might look the same, the internal parts are very different; plastics and cheap metals vs. brass or copper. He advised the cheaper items would lead to rusting and lower performance. We checked it out and he was spot on! I appreciated that Rickey was involved from beginning to end. He personally quoted and itemized all of the work. Told us exactly how much and how long it would take. Then, he inspected what he expected. He visited our job site nearly every day and communicated with us through out the entire project. On a couple of occasions, he would identify minute flaws and have the team address the issue immediately. Frankly, he could have let it slide and we would have never known. Another aspect of Mr. Greer that we truly appreciated was his knowledge and willingness to provide advise on color schemes and current interior design ideas. Our house was built in the early 90's and frankly, my wife and I were novices. Rickey's experience and suggestions proved to be exceptional. He employs over 30+ skilled workers and has access to very experienced plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc. These guys were fantastic and efficient. In summary, we are very pleased with the final product. My wife and I constantly find ourselves staring at the bathroom and the kitchen/den in amazement! We keep asking ourselves if this is really ours. So, if you want first class work done to your house for a very reasonable price, then call RNR. On a more personal note and by copy to Rickey, THANK YOU for making us proud of our house once again. We look forward to working with you again in the near future. Regards, John and Brenda

Bottom line up front: the price for the job was outstanding; the quality of work is exceptional; the speed, professionalism, responsiveness, and flexibility with which they did the job was phenomenal. I would use them for every job I had to do, and I would recommend them to anyone who has a job to do. Excellent price - We bid the project to 4 companies - two underbid (with the intent to later raise the cost - they wouldn't guarantee their cost, and were vague about how it could cost so little, and one bid was quite a bit more than RNR. Their bid was excellent for the scope of work. T hey took an interest in the project - on most aspects of the project we already knew what we wanted, but on the few aspects of it that either we didn't think we could do, or that we didn't know how or what to do, they made recommendations, or figured out a way to do it. On a couple of issues they told us they thought our choice was not the optimal choice and they showed us an alternative which was better. They were right. They work hard - I have done three renovations and these guys have blown every other crew out of the water. They show up when they say they will, immediately start work upon arrival, and leave only when they accomplish what they needed to. They showed up every Saturday also (which we had agreed was okay at the outset of the job). They are flexible and responsive - as with all jobs, and kitchen gut jobs in particular, there were things which needed to change and unforeseen obstacles. When we identified something, they gave us all of the alternatives, and didn't just try to up-sell us on something slick to fix it. On a couple of plumbing issues, they figured out how to correct old work without impacting the cost or quality of work. They kept areas outside the worksite clean - every day I knew when they were leaving because I heard the brooms sweeping and their tools being packed up and painting supplies being consolidated. In past jobs, it has seemed that tools and supplies sprawl all over the house. Essentially, they were very considerate of our family. Bottom line - Use RNR for all of your remodeling needs. A friend of mine chose not to use him - he bid the job the same time we did. He had fallen victim to an "under-bidder." He had to come back to RNR to fix the work done, and to finish the job. It cost him significantly more than if he had used RNR originally. If you THINK you are getting an awesome deal from someone else, you are probably wrong - you are getting underbid. Once someone figures out how to do it just like RNR, then you'll have an option other than these guys. Until then...
Description of Work: Remodeled kitchen from top to bottom; painted several rooms (living, dining, hall, bathroom, stairs); built a hall closet; installed ceiling fan, range hood, lights; repaired and painted front porch and steps; built door for crawl space; pressure washed entire house.

I think they did a good job, but I think they're very expensive. I seem to recall that it was about $38 an hour and that was always with two painters. So it was $76 an hour. It went on a long time. Upfront they tell you, "Oh we'll just charge you for the materials and the labor" and try to make that sound like you're getting the rock bottom price. As it turns out, they charge a lot for labor.
Description of Work: I used RNR Home Improvements for interior painting.
Ricky and his crew Installed new tub and shower, tiled shower, installed new floor tile, installed new countertop and sink, installed new lighting and exhaust fan and replaced some drywall. The Work was done on time and looks beautiful.
This work took about 4 weeks to finish. They worked 6 days a week with a crew ranging from 8 down to 1 depending on the tasks to be done. Were there surprises? Of course. The first started on the first day (beginning o demolition of old flooring, cabinets, etc.). It turned out that the ceramic tile flooring in the foyer had been laid over old ceramic tile laid on the concrete floor and the ceramic tile in the kitchen and pantry had been laid over linoleum which had, in turn, been laid over more linoleum laid on the concrete floor. This basically tripled the time and manpower required to strip down to the concrete. The parquet in the living room was easy to remove but left lots of glue ridges and there was a high spot in the living room concrete where and earlier under-the-slab water leak had been repaired which had to be ground down. This also meant that all of the flooring concrete had to be leveled using may bags of a water/concrete leveling mixture which had to be screed. There were other surprises involving in-the-wall electrical wiring in the kitchen. All of this was handled in a high quality way, and given the labor and materials involved, did not result in much cost overrun (just about $1,500). When painting, the drywall and most of the molding was primed first with an oil based primer to seal in stains, etc. before application of the water-based latex finish paint (2 coats of finish paint on all). The workers cleaned up every day and took care to minimize the dust inherent in this type of job. (I know this because I lived upstairs through the entire period). One of the 2 co-owners of the business came by every day to inspect progress, etc. The workers were skilled and took pride in their work. One measure of a well run business is that most of the workers at in all trades have been working for RNR for five years or more and showed up for work every day, a rarity in contracting these days.
Description of Work: Did a complete first floor remodel (minus 1 guest bedroom, my choice) of my house. The rooms involved were kitchen, pantry, dining room, living room, full bathroom, and 2 story foyer. This work involved the following: Removal of flooring (a mix of ceramic tile, parquet, and carpeting). Most of the removal was ceramic tile. Removal of all appliances and all kitchen and pantry cabinets. Removal of popcorn ceiling (all rooms). Flooring work done in laminate for all rooms except bathroom which was done in ceramic tile. Installation of new cabinets in kitchen, pantry, and bathroom. Conversion of tub area in bathroom to ceramic tile shower with bench. Installation of crown molding in all rooms. Painting throughout. Colors used for walls with white trim throughout. This included drywall repair. Replacement of all outlets, light switches, recessed light fixtures, existing fluorescent fixtures, etc. This included installation of additional recessed fixtures and installation of customer supplied chandeliers in kitchen, living room, and foyer and customer supplied decorative fixture in bathroom. Replacement of all plumbing outside of walls. Relocation of tub drain to make it suitable for shower. Miscellaneous other installs and repairs.

RNR Home Improvements is here right now, they are wonderful. I love them to death. I need to see Marlene for how much it's going to cost when it's all said and done how much I had to pay my contractor who what he's doing is insured, our insurance is covering it but he's also doing some extra work for me and I need to see how much stuff is going to cost. Matt is wonderful. When they were here the first day, Matt said "just for tickle, vote for giggle" called Atlanta gas pipe and see if they might install your lines for free which they did. If I put up two gas appliances in which would be a tank-less hot water system and gas log, it would be free. I just need to see how much Marlene come up with, on how much he's going to charge me and how much Andy is going to charge me to do that work. These plumbers that are contracted by RNR are great. Hopefully, they'll be coming back if I can afford it to do my tank-less system.
Description of Work: They are doing some work right now and I want them to put in a tank-less hot water system.
Description of Work: Painted entire inside of house including walls, baseboards & doors. Pressure washed exterior of house & deck. Replace approx. 1500 sq. ft of carpet in 2nd floor. This house has approximately 3000 sq. ft. & the cathedral walls are 14' high.

Historic District, Downtown Savannah, Cottage Renovation. Excellent job by RNR construction. Rickey Greer, the contractor, was timely, fair price, with excellent craftmanship and work. I would use him again!
Description of Work: Kitchen, bath remodel, painting, fixed gate
Overall, the job went excellent. Crew was there when promised and work proceeded smoothly throughout the renovation period until an error was found near the end in the amount of wood flooring delivered. Ricky took care of this at his own expense; it did delay completion but Ricky and the crew handled it very professionally. They cleaned up after themselves every day. Quality of work was certainly superior. Ricky provided excellent advice on local suppliers of flooring, carpet, tile and paint. I've worked with a few contractors over the years, some on smaller jobs and some on much larger jobs. I would not hesitate to use Ricky again for any job, large or small. A professional who cares about his customers and his reputation.
Description of Work: Complete interior painting of a 2400 sq ft house including ceilings, trim, walls, doors, windows, kitchen and bath cabinets. Removed a section of wall to open up an area. Did repairs to walls and ceilings throughout. Replaced flooring in 80% of house with wood laminate flooring, tile and wall to wall carpet. Upgraded lighting in several rooms and built a custom walk in closet.
