 + -1 moreI knew the torsion spring needed replacement after Googling the issue (all of a sudden the door wouldn't open). The spring was broken in half and the side cables were disengaged. Guy and Casey came within an hour of the call, and recommended I replace the one torsion spring with two, since the door was a heavy overhead metal door. That made sense so that's what they did, promptly and efficiently. Not sure about the price since I don't buy torsion springs every day, but seemed reasonable. They also lubed all of the door hinges and what a difference! Quiet and smooth operation now. Thanks guys!
Description of Work: Replaced the old broken torsion spring with two new ones. Recommended periodic lubrication to keep the new springs in good shape; accomplished by spraying them with lithium grease or another lubricant.

 + -1 moreI contacted Mr. Padgett and described the damage to my garage door, and in less then two minutes he had identified the style of panel required, told me when he expected to have them, the cost of the panels and installation, and when he could install them. He called me yesterday to say the panels were in (early) and set up the install. He showed up exactly when he said he would, and with his helper immediately got to work. He had to move a some things in my garage to do the work, and when he was done he had put everything back exactly where it had been before he began. He and his assistant were very pleasant and polite and did a superb job. I will never call anyone but him if I need garage door service and I would suggest you call him if you do. You will be glad you did. Thank you Mr Padgett.

He proceeded to replace existing opener with updated components. Mr. Padgett also demonstrated proper use opener and attachments. Mr. Padgett serves well as a serviceman!

Was here 15 minutes earlier than he said ( which I liked)- was upfront with the cost to repair ( opener was shorted out due to storm) and cost of new one. took only about 1 hour to replace the opener did a great job.

 + -1 moreI initially called to inquire about the price difference of a garage door install on a product they supplied versus one that I purchased. Once I determined that I would rather buy my own garage door opener and had received it I called them back about coming out to install it. We live in Hinesville and they told me that they didn't come out all the time so I was surprised when they said they could come out to install for me the following week!! They arrived promptly at 830am and installed the unit in about an hour and a half and serviced my pre-existing door. They also discovered that the 2x4's holding the door frame to my garage structure was coming apart and fixed it for me. They quoted me one price and that is exactly what I paid - all in all, great experience and if anything needs fixing down the road I will definitely call back.

Description of Work: Father and son came one day and were back the next day to install the garage door, and did so in 2 hours. We got the insulated door, and are extremely pleased with their work. They also hauled away all the trash from the old wooden door. They were pleasant and professional.

Description of Work: Guy is my garage guy. He is always responsive, clear on the work and fair in price. I now live out of town, and received a call stating that my garage door would not open, the wood was rotten and the entire door needed to be replaced, cost 915.00. I knew it was not possible that my entire two car garage door was rotten in the span of 8 months, after having lived in my house fo the last 15 years. So I called Guy and within a day, he had diagnosed the problem and fixed the door. Not rotten. I have and will continue to rely on Guy Padgett's services and trust his work completely!

Description of Work: The spring on my garage door suddenly snapped when I got home from taking my daughter to school. I did not realize this until sometime close to lunchtime. My car was trapped in the garage. I called several companies, but Mr. Padgett was the only one able to come out this same day. He told me he was just finishing another job across town but they would be out as soon as possible. About half an hour later he called to say they were on their way, but asked if it would be okay if they stopped for lunch. I was very impressed with the fact that he chose to call and ask that (which indicated to me, my need was greater than theirs) and told them to take their time. Within an hour they were at my house. His son was who knocked on the door. He was very kind, respectful and professional. I explained that I had my brand new BMW parked in the garage, and that I was concerned with it being a problem. He assured me that was not an issue and they would take utmost care. They did indeed. In less than 30 minutes my garage door was back in working order! They replaced the spring, oiled the hinges, and made sure it was "good to go". Mr. Padgett and his son are extremely professional, respectful, and nice. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

My family services garage doors in another part of the state, so I'm pretty aware of what's involved in most door service calls. Perfect service! Glad to have good, professional door service in town.

He knew exactly what the problem was as he'd seen one like it just days before. When I called my home warranty provider for approval she asked to speak to the contractor, and Mr. Padgett was only too happy to oblige. Once the warranty provider had approved the work was begun. The two men worked like a well oiled team, each clearly knowing what their duty was in the process. Fast and smooth! I can't say enough positive things about Padgett Overhead Doors. Use them. You'll be pleased that you did.

 + -1 moreI saw them in the Yellow Pages and then checked them out on Angie's List. I, then, called them to replace 2 springs on our main double garage door, check the safety mechanisms and overall service the door; AND to service the single garage door that is on our carriage house. The weather stripping needed to be replaced at the bottom and a remote control needed to be programmed for it. It needed to be checked out for safety also. All of this needed to be documented for the new owners of our house. (We are "under contract", closing in Feb.) Guy Padgett and his son Casey came out the very next day after the call. They showed up early and waited for me. They efficiently serviced, loped, replaced the springs and weather stripping and checked out everything for safety. The big door was around $275. The little door was around $100. With tax, the entire bill was $374.50. They carefully documented what they did, so that I had proof for the new owners. The Padgetts take pride in their work and aim to please. I would highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreOutstanding! door kept reversing and cable came off LH drum and door out of tracks at 6.00 pm 1/14. Called Guy based upon Angies recommendations. Guy and his son made a space for me in their schedule and came next morning. He corrected the cables, springs, tracks, adjusted the chain and replaced a door bracket. Door operates perfectly now. It actually clears the door opening, Before it hung down. Best $135.00 I've spent. If you have a door issue call Guy you won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: Put cables back on drums, put tension back on springs, adjusted tracks and chain, lubed everything.

After trying to figure out if something was obstructing the door and found nothing, I called Guy (Padgett) because his name and number are on my garage door panel (I assume he originally installed the door, but it was before I bought the house). He was very helpful and attentive over the phone and was able to come out to my house first thing the next morning. His son works with him and is very polite. They both worked very efficiently and were able to complete the repairs before I had to leave for work. At one point, I went out to the garage to say hi and to give them a check. Guy explained to me in detail what was wrong with the door and explained and demonstrated how to mainentance the door. The garage door now works like new, and I am very pleased. I am hoping that nothing else will go wrong with the door, but if it does, I will definitely call Padgett Garage Doors. On a side note, Guy even took my trash bin to the curb for me; I had previously explained to him on the phone that I was concerned that it was trash pick-up day and I did not want the trash bin to be stuck in the garage for a week due to the door not working.
Description of Work: My garage door was only opening about a fourth of the way up, so Guy had to come out and replace the springs (which it turned out that the springs were too small for the door, presumeably installed by the previous owner of my house). He ended up replacing the springs as well as the end caps and a couple of other parts, all for the price at which he quoted me for just replacing the springs.
