I really hate giving bad reviews but they were just not customer friendly; I had an appointment a month in advance, as I was just moving back to Savannah. Once I was back in town they were supposed to come over and provide a quote. From the start, we said we were going to wear masks, as I would never be around anyone without a mask these days. I had a brief conversation via Angies list email and all appeared to be on schedule. They called me 15-30 minutes prior to my appointment to tell me they weren't coming out. The gal said they didn't want to make 2 trips and that I could call them back after I had gathered my other quotes so if they did come out, they'd only need to come out once. Had they said that from the start, I would have removed them from my list of professionals and saved myself the time and trouble of communicating with them. Had they said they weren't comfortable working on indoor projects at this time (a few others have said that), and they'd be happy to still come out to put in the outdoor outlet I wanted, I would have been able to understand. Giving them a 'D' because they waited until it was nearly time for their arrival and then cancelled.

The workmen arrived on time. The electrician gathered information on the electrical problems and gave me a quote. Work was done efficiently and they did not leave until all the work was done. If I had questions, they were answered; the electrician explained what he was doing and even showed me on an outlet what he would be doing. I am very satisfied with their work. They were very professional and considerate during this job. Also, the office called the next day to see if I were satisfied with their work. I would hire them again, and I would definitely recommend Mr. Electric of the Coastal Empire to anyone. I rate them A+.

Wonderful professionals to work with. Have used them once before a well. Believe me, their response was nothing short of remarkable. The Scheduler, Quinn, is amazing, very pleasant, and sympathetic—I felt like she really cared about my problem and pulled out the stops to work me into a packed schedule. This company delivers: they are there when they say they’ll be there and they don’t quit until the work is done perfectly. They are cost-competitive and they stand by their work. On both occasions I used them, Caleb was the technician and I couldn’t be any more satisfied: He’s polite, clean, very professional and pays close attention to detail. He patiently answered my many questions in terms I could understand. Going a step farther, Caleb salvaged what he could from my existing material on hand to reduce my out-of-pocket expenses. He was careful to walk me through the process and explain the repair and finished work to me...BONUS: he cleans up his work area before he leaves. These folks are exceptionally SERVICE-oriented. I heartily and confidently recommend them.

I scored an F due to customer service. They actually came out and did the job quoted in a timely manner but they left debris around the work site and were responsible for improper connections to a water heater. I had a plumber to the house 2 days later to check a loss of hot water and were told there was no electrical power to the unit. When I called Mr. Electric to come out and investigate / repair the circuit, I was initially told it would be 2 weeks to get on the schedule. When I mentioned possible legal action, they dispatched someone immediately. The technician found loose wires at the circuit breaker and fixed the problem. We were invoiced for no charge as “complimentary emergency service”. When I requested to be reimbursed for the plumber costs, they told me that it was not due to their work and refused to reimburse me. If it was not caused by Mr. Electric, then why did they not charge me for a Sunday service charge when they came out to fix my problem?

When our Customer Service Representative made her routine follow up call, you stated that you were happy with the job and everything was completed to your satisfaction. Had we known that there was debris left behind by our technician, we would have sent the technician back out to clean this up. Our policy is to leave the job site cleaner than we found it. We will be addressing this issue internally. I know that you gave our company an "F" for pricing and punctuality. However, your job was scheduled for a set appointment window and we arrived within that window. The quote for your job was given in advance and approved by you. We are sorry that you had issues with your hot water heater a few days after the job was completed and had problems getting a technician dispatched to your home when you called our after hours call center on Sunday. We do not schedule our technicians to work on Sunday. However, when our call center notified us of how unhappy you were, the owner went out to repair your problem, which was unrelated to the work we had done earlier. We did not charge you for this job because it was a quick fix and we had just completed a larger job for you. The owner thought it was the nice thing to do to help you out. Unfortunately, before contacting us, you had already called a plumbing company and they charged you for an afterhours weekend call and performed unnecessary repairs. It is unfortunate that you called a plumber when you required the services of an electrician.

It was an extremely good service. He was very professional, my husband was really happy with him. I don't usually give top ratings to anybody. I would absolutely use them again and I would recommend them.
Description of Work: It's like the lighters kept jumping on the GSI switch we had, so they came and checked it and found that something was wired wrong, then as a courtesy, they checked the entire house to be sure that everything was safe, and installed smoke alarm. That was all part of the service, of course we had to take the smoke alarm, but you know, just saying you need a new smoke alarm, and they replaced it without an additional fee, it was all included.

They were really good. They charged the service fee plus a couple dollars more. What I like about them is if they come out, they charge you the service fee. If it could be done, they actually do that work without charging you up to the price of the service fee.

I bought the lights I wanted and so the service was just installation, along with making sure that the electric circuits were not the source of our problems with the existing lights. The Mr. Electric rep checked the lines, then installed the new lights and explained how they would work (they have motion sensors). They have three possible settings for the time the lights stay on, and he asked us which setting we wanted. The whole thing took only about 2 hours; he arrived promptly in the morning, calling first to let me know he was on the way and making sure he knew how to find my house. The lights are working fine and I'm very satisfied with the job. The only slight problem I had with this job was that he took all the trash with him, including the instructions for installing (and using) the lights -- if I ever want to change the settings on the lights I'll have to figure it out. This happened because I had to leave before the installation was complete and forgot to ask my sister to keep a copy. But this is not a big problem to have! A note: we have an "Advantage Plan" with Mr. Rooter which extends to Mr. Electric as well, saving us 10% on the cost, which is why we called them first, but we have used Mr. E in the past and been happy with the outcomes. I don't have a large frame of reference to compare Mr. Electric's charges with others' but I've been very satisfied whenever we've used them and don't mind paying for that!
Description of Work: We hired Mr. Electric to install 4 exterior security lights to replace our existing 25-year-old lights, some of which were malfunctioning.

He showed up on time both visits. First visit was to run wire and junction boxes with studs exposed. Second trip was a few days later to install the pendant lights once drywall ceiling was in place. He covered the countertop each time before performing work and completed his work quickly. He was very professional.

Mr. Weeks had the ability to make you feel at ease and although it was our first meeting, like he was a long time friend. He was very professional and knowledgeable in his work. Mr. weeks came the day I called, discussed the pricing and the work he would do. He finished the job quickly. I would recommend Mr. Electric and Mr. to anyone needing electrical work, and will surely call them when I need electrical service again.
Description of Work: Identified the cause of the problem and made fast and accurate corrections. Also found another potential problem and corrected it, while explaining everything to me. At the conclusion of his work he tested the GFI plugs and checked to see if we had any other problems in the home. He then checked the breaker box to make sure there were no problems there.

Garrett Weeks was the electrician that performed the work; he assessed the problem and replaced the damaged part quickly and efficiently. He explained how it had happened and what the cost would be prior to actually performing the work, and even fixed a loose fixture in my attic that could have been a major safety issue, using a simple part that he had on his truck. He was so helpful, friendly and professional that I kept his business card and will only call him for any future work. My house is very old and will need a lot of work in the future, so I hope he plans to stay with Mr Electric for at least a few more years!

During the evening, I heard noises coming from my breaker box so I had to turn off some of the breakers. I called at 8:00 when they opened and they were able to have someone here by 9:00. Their service technician explained all the issues to me in layman's terms. He was able to provide a temporary fix for a week or two until I can set a schedule for the whole system to be replaced (old home, old box). He also thoroughly explained each cost in the break down for a new system. I highly recommend this company!

I needed an indoor / outdoor evaluation of my electrical systems, switches, outlets, recessed lighting, exhaust and attic fans replaced, etc. I decided to go with Mr. Electric on the recommendation of my Heating and Air company which I've been pleased with for years. I made the appt for Wed 9/24 at 12, explaining to the girl the situation and that I needed the job assessed and started as soon as possible. We waited till 1:30pm when my husband suggested I call them. They then told me that they called my cell and left a message that they could not come till Friday 9/26. Tammy Weeks got on the phone telling me that they had a lot of emergencies and since mine was just a quote, they decided to leave my appt till later. I told her that I explained to the girl how important this appt was, especially since I travel, and the quote although not important to them, would turn into a full job. I asked her if there was a chance someone could still come by later on today 9/24. She replied no. I don't know how they work or selectively choose their clients, but based on my experience, I would highly discourage anyone from using their services.

I apologize for your dissatisfaction with our company. As an electrical contracting company, it is impossible to guarantee an exact appointment time. We never know how long a job will take until we physically inspect the job. We do guarantee the first job of the day at 8:00 a.m., try to accommodate scheduling requests, and give some window of time that we will be out. However, we tell our customers to go about their day and we will call them when we are in route to their job. This has been our standard scheduling procedure for years. It typically works well because the customer does not have to wait around all day for a technician to show up, and we avoid situations like your appointment expectations. That being said, we are training a new office manager, and the possibility exists that she may not have communicated our scheduling policy with you clearly. I apologize that you were led to believe that we would be out at exactly 12:00 p.m. Our notes indicate that you requested an appointment after 12:00, and we were trying to accommodate that request. Occasionally, we have emergency jobs which require our immediate attention. This is not to say that your job is not important to us. However, a customer without power due to a tree falling on their meter can during a storm, an electrical fire, or a business that is not able to operate because of an electrical issue will be scheduled over a non-emergency installation or job quote. Sometimes these emergency jobs will offset our schedule for the next day. We have a responsibility to our customers to respond in a timely manner when a true emergency does arise. I am certain that if you had no power, you would appreciate being made a priority on our schedule. Your appointment was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 24th. Due to the recent influx of storms in our area, we have been overwhelmed with emergency calls. On Tuesday, Sept. 23rd, our office manager called and left you a voice mail to see if we could move your appointment to Friday. I feel badly that you did not check your voice mail and call us back to let us know that Friday would not be convenient for you. However, we did not hear back from you until Wednesday afternoon. When you asked me to guarantee you that I could get a technician out on Wednesday, I tried to explain to you that I needed to find out the status of my techs' current jobs before I could let you know. You were very hostile and would not let me explain that to you, so I could only respond with "no, I cannot guarantee you a technician today". Then you hung up on me. Since you were upset and had escalated the issue to an emergency situation, I was able to line up a tech to come out after hours to your home. However, you did not answer my call or respond to my voice mail. Again, I truly am sorry for the miscommunication on our part and your unhappiness with our company. Unfortunately, you were too upset by the time that we spoke for us to really work through the scheduling problem.
